Instead of aluminum foil I like to use nonstick parchment paper. I lay two pieces criss-cross, so the edges are covered. The two pieces of crossed parchment paper are stronger than the foil so it's easy to lift the cooled pecan bark out of the tray. 😍
I have made this twice now for 2 different parties, it was a huge hit at both. The only thing I changed was that I added about 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Thank you for the recipe, it’s going in the recipe box!
I sprinkle milk chocolate chips on top as soon as it comes out of the oven. When the chocolate chips melt spread it over the pecan topping and then cool and cut into squares. Like a toffee. Very good.
Years ago I found a recipe online for a butterscotch pecan pie. It is a Nestlé recipe, and it is so good. Your idea made me think of putting butterscotch chips on top of this, too. I love butterscotch. Lol
Ken..you should have your own show on public television..Your personality is a treasure and there would many, many children who would truly benefit from the way you describe the task at hand.
@@suebl4037 If personalities such as Ken`s were able to multiply and each personality of Ken were be placed in every early childhood program, this world would be a better place. But the only way for that to happen is if Ken were to begin reading children`s books, teaching to paint or draw and color etc. on his own television program. Or maybe a separate YT channel for children to learn from him. Young children are sponges up until the age of 7. The youth of this world need desperately the teaching of the elders and their kind way of speaking that is lacking in most educational systems nowadays. Just look around at what has begun to fruit from decisions made just a few years ago.
I've been watching your channel for awhile now. I love how easy you make all your recipes. This looks easy and delicious! Great to put on a cookie tray for Christmas 👍 thanks for sharing all your great recipes!
We pronounce "pecan" the same way here in south Texas. 😉 Wow! This is something my mother would definitely like. I'll make it after my next grocery run! Thank you.
Hi...just a little helpful hint I learned from watching Martha Stewart - use a BENCH SCRAPER to cut brownies, bars and especially something like this. You get more of a controlled cut (if that matters to you), and you have an easier time cutting the pecan pie bark. I just mention this because I noticed you struggled a bit with the knife while cutting, having to turn it forward and backward. The knife handle gets in the way! The bench scraper really works well for this and is a great tool to have in your kitchen for so many other uses. I so enjoyed this recipe and am eager to try it! Thank you for a great recipe and wonderful presentation!
Yes, thanks for the tip. I just didn't want to dig out the scraper and the knife was right there. Availability... is the reason we often use something other than the ideal tool. If you have ever tried to drive a nail with anything other than a hammer you know what I mean. I'll be sure to use the bench scraper next time. 🙂
I can't wait to try this for the holidays!! I know that it will be a hit! I'm thinking that I should probably do a "test run" of it before then (so I can eat it... LOL) Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you, Ken! I first tuned in about a year ago curious to make buttermilk biscuits and became a fan right away! I've used a number of your recipes now and I so appreciate your easy going spirit and helpful tips for simple recipes. This bark looks good for an upcoming Christmas party. Can't wait! God bless you and your family this Christmas season. The Heavens do indeed declare the Glory of God. Sue in So Cal
Oh my goodness- you just can’t go wrong with pecan pie anything. These look amazing. I’ll be trying these after I try your mini pecan pie. Lol. I’m so glad I found your videos.
Thanks so much for all your wonderful recipes. I will make this for sure. I think I may add chocolate chips a few minutes before it is finished baking. Merry Christmas and happy New Year to you and all your followers.

I use parchment also, it will still stick to aluminum foil…..

Why wouldn't you add salted butter?
Gotta have salt to make it sweet! Grandma taught me that.
Do you use Sea Salt?

Great 💡
Wait to add the vanilla extract until after you remove the pan from the heat, you’ll preserve more of its flavor.

Mini marshmallows work, too
Oohhh......the chocolate chips sound yummy too! I make a similar recipe with saltines, the caramel sauce and melted chocolate chips.
Shredded coconut would be good too.
Chocolate addition makes it derby pie bark!

Just lift the whole concoction out of the sheet pan, with the foil, then cut it.
Pinch of salt and maybe dark brown sugar. That’s what I use in my pecan pies. Yum.
✅🙂
I would use dark brown sugar also, and a pinch or two of salt.
Or, use salted butter.
This is so much better than the ones with chocolate. I love it this way.
Glad you like it! 🙂
Can some chocolate be drizzled on top?
I'm going to make two , one this way. Then another made without Graham crackers both look yummy
Yes and, a pinch of salt@@shirleyappel9162
