And not a drop of sarcasm or condescension, such a refreshing personality. Those videos going around with all the exaggerated gestures and movements and fake outcomes. I just wasted a bunch of ingredients making a peach cobbler, and it was a wet, soggy mess. I’ve been cooking since I was 9 years old and my mom was very sick, I am almost 60 now, I have a grasp of cooking, but hadn’t made a dump cobbler. I’m still salty about it!
I have been making pecan tarts for 50 years. My crust has cream cheese in it. Center filling as yours, brown sugar, eggs vanilla butter. I press dough in mini tart pans, pour filling, top near the end with full half pecan.
Wow.... Trees are wonderful reminders to bake.... I have walnuts.... Got get to em before the squirrels!!! But they keep great in burlap bags in a cool dry spot ALL winter! ❄️ 🎄
I love the way you showed us how to make it with a wooden spoon, spatula and clean hands. I learned to cook that way, and having a tiny kitchen now there's no room for electrical appliances. Thank you!
I made these today. When I copied the recipe, I didn’t write down the 3/4 cup of white sugar. As I was pouring the filling over the crust I thought “it’s kind thin, I wonder if I missed some thickener?” I was tempted to tip out the filling and add the sugar; but it was already 10 minutes into the 30 minute baking. So, I just left it alone. Just took them out, and had a taste …. Guess what? They are perfectly fine WITHOUT the sugar! They might not be stiff enough to eat like a bar, but they’re plenty still enough to eat with ice cream and are absolute DELICIOUS! Thanks for sharing the recipe. ❤️

Great recipe. I always have a weakness for the pecan bars at certain bakeries. I was looking for a recipe, and this was perfect. It tasted just like the fancy bars that they charge $3.99 for at my bakery. I only had the Grandma's Molasses, and they still are amazing.
I’m Canadian, and we get “Fancy Molasses” or black strap. I’ve continued ordering molasses from Canada the 20 years I’ve lived in the USA. Just going to use Grandmas from now on. Lol
Damn this is good! Found this the day after thanksgiving. Made it yesterday anyway. We can’t stop eating it. This is going to be a holiday tradition. I asked my husband if we were going to share with his family by dropping some off. He said no. We are keeping this lol. Also for anyone in my same situation. I didn’t have the molasses she had. So glad I watched. My sister used to make jam bars with a pecan/coconut topping and I had forgotten the recipe until I watched this video. The bottom was a shortbread ! Yay! Now I can make both !

This reminds me of going to my great granny's farm in Polar Bluff, MO. She cooked just like this. I picked up so many recipes and different ways to cook.
My husband and son would love this dessert as they are both pecan pie lovers. I grew up with black strap molasses and I still keep it on hand to use in my baked beans. Sweet but with way more flavor in the right dishes!
Making tonight for potluck after church tomorrow! Hope it’s a hit, as I’m sure it will be! Even the checkout clerk was excited about what I was making, and the guy behind me too!
I've always loved my filling, but I ruin it with the crust or buy one I am unimpressed with. This looks like a fabulous alternative. I discovered how great blackstrap molasses is when I couldn't find dark Karo syrup. So, I added 1/4 cup to 3/4 cup light and wow! It was a bit too rich, but I noticed the beautiful consistency. One tablespoon sounds like it would be perfect. I look forward to trying this recipe out!
This recipe just popped up. I'm going to my daughter's birthday party tomorrow. Since she was born in Alabama, and we picked up pecans at the church when she was a toddler, I thought this would be the perfect southern treat. I hope they turn out as good as yours. It was easy to follow along with you. I can't wait to try them. Thank you!!
OK, so I took these to the party. They were a huge hit!!! I told my daughter to leave them in the frig until she was ready to break out the desserts. When I said OK, time to take out the squares. She said, Mom, there's only one left!!! What!!! Word spread throughout the party how amazing these are. I will never make a pecan pie again. Thank you again for this recipe. Absolutely delicious! I LOVE your channel.
Yes i will try this. I love pecan pie but the bars would be great . 👍 I make fudge,, cookies,,, and now ill be making these for christmas for the families to enjoy at their home .

I’ve only tried tempering eggs for a pie filling once. It failed miserably, after that I just make them like my Mom and Grandma did, which is put the eggs in with the sugar, eggs, etc and everything warms up at the same time and no scrambled eggs. I plan to make your recipe for these bars for Christmas, I know they will go fast. Merry Christmas!
I made these last night. I didn't make the shortbread and instead used Trader Joe's Butter Puff Pastry which was a perfect fit in the pan. I docked it and prebaked but it puffed up super big. Clearly its not the right type of dough for this. I flipped it over so the puff deflated and made the filling. I added 2 tbs of bourbon to the filling after the sugar mix was off the heat. Next time I'll add 3tbs of bourbon because it was really so delicious!

I am 72(today) widower, retired in Honduras. Ovens in homes are rare here. My baking proves to be a big hit though I am really a beginner. I have to adapt recipes to what the local stores carry. I appreciate your offering simpler appliance techniques. And I WILL make this one.
Suspect she's show'n it's Not required, and often people over mix more delicate things make'n em tough... If you mix by hand when you can... No arthritis etc, or big double batches it's gives you a better feel or what's perfect in do'n so.... Honestly I think it's key 🗝️ to good Cook'n, certainly Bake'n! Try both you'll See.... 🎄🍽️👍
I have found that many people undermix... because all you hear is don't over do it...but many won't get to actual texture needed by hand!! I think that no matter what you cook...it should rest for about 30minutes for beginners...that will do exactly what the over kneading with mixers does...and allows for all of let's say dough fully combined before cooking!!@@les9058
This is so much easier than making a pie. You can serve more people with less hassle. The instructions and demonstration was perfect. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
I just bought the foodie XL oven about three weeks ago and I love it. Yesterday because I have become obsessed at watching your show I bought the ninja foodie. I also have the ninja grill, and I kicked my Insta pot to the curb. Well not really. I think I’m gonna keep it to do yogurt in, or give it to my son later. Thank you for all of your shows. I doubled the recipe just to be safe! It was a little too much. I could have done a 1 and a half recipe. Hope that helps others!
Holy Pecan Nutty Goodness, Batman! I love pecan pie (okay anything pecan). You, again, have come up with an inspired holiday or any day desert. A slice of pie is great; but this I could snack on all evening. Thank you so much.
My first time watching but I'm sold and you made it simple and attractive, pecan pie is delicious but I've found myself avoiding it because it gets so messy but the idea of these perfect squares is absolutely miraculous I am totally impressed, so are you always so creative in the kitchen nevertheless allow me to thank you this is an ideal way to keep it manageable.
I love your channel. I always put my pie filling in the blender n my pecans on the bottom n then pour the filling on top. This looks so much easier. Merry Christmas! PS. Its been good to watch your channel grow. You are an excellent teacher!
I read the comments because sometimes there are little tidbits of additional info on the recipe when you respond however I was shocked at the mean and accusations of your favorite cooking items. Bless you and thank you for sharing your cooking talents with us. Gonna try this recipe for sure.
I just found this channel and subscribed right away. I’ve seen a couple of your posts and appreciate your easy to understand recipes. I’m the type of person who will have a bite or two of pecan pie and be satisfied. The bars are such an easy way to serve small bites to people like me. Thank you! You are appreciated.
Thanks for the Pecan Bar recipe! I'd been buying these at a BBQ place. Now I can make my own! I have arthritic finger joints so would use any type of potato masher to make blending those ingredients much easier.
So I used my Ninja Blender on the dough setting to mix the crust... it turned out a bit smoother than playdough feeling but it seemed to cook good and it still smells amazing! Can't wait to try them tomorrow after they cool over night... good thing its gunna be down to 35 tonight and I can put them (made 2 batches) in my sunroo. over night... my fridge is packed with stuff for Thanksgiving lol.

Perfect size! This is on my list for Holiday baking! Thanks!
I really enjoyed watching your cooking. I can't wait to try these.. perfect timing for the holidays
This is so much easier than making a pie. You can serve more people with less hassle. The instructions and demonstration was perfect. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
Thank you!
Yum..I've made miniature pecan pies but this looks much easier thanks
Absolutely!!! 💯
I’m obsessed.
Thank you so much!
@@TheSaltedPepper Honestly I have watched a lot of cooking shows in my life but I love your show the best.
This looks good enough to eat and easy enough that even I can make them. I haven't done much baking since I retired 10 years ago. Thank you.
Yum...they look delicious! Thank you for sharing ❤️❤️
Yum, my favorite dessert 🍪
My Husband will love these bars ! Thankyou for asharing.
You are so welcome! I hope you enjoy them!
Sister, I'm now making my 3rd batch...took 1 to dear friends...they were ecstatic...sooooooo delicious...thank toy for going thru each step...I'm hooked...will cooking with you forever...❤😊
These turned out fantastic. Thank you! I'm a big fan of your channel. I struggled with the pan size, as I didn't have your size. I ended up using a 11.5x17 ( inside dimensions of 10x14. I doubled the recipe just to be safe! It was a little too much. I could have done a 1 and a half recipe. Hope that helps others!
Thanks for that info!
I used the extra left in 2small pie tins to make individual bar pies
You just cut into 4ths!
Holy Pecan Nutty Goodness, Batman! I love pecan pie (okay anything pecan). You, again, have come up with an inspired holiday or any day desert. A slice of pie is great; but this I could snack on all evening. Thank you so much.
Hope you enjoy them!
😄😄
I am going to try these bars for sure. My husband loves pecan pie. Thanks. MK
I hope he loves them!
My first time watching but I'm sold and you made it simple and attractive, pecan pie is delicious but I've found myself avoiding it because it gets so messy but the idea of these perfect squares is absolutely miraculous I am totally
impressed, so are you always so
creative in the kitchen nevertheless
allow me to thank you this is an ideal
way to keep it manageable.
Impressive! These look awesome! This recipe is great for holidays. Thank you 🙏
I made these bars this morning. They were awesome and I love the portability. High five✋️🥰
I love your channel. I always put my pie filling in the blender n my pecans on the bottom n then pour the filling on top. This looks so much easier. Merry Christmas!
PS. Its been good to watch your channel grow. You are an excellent teacher!
What a great recipe. That looks so yummy!!!
Thanks!
Wonderful ❤ I like your thinking and method! I'll make them for Thanksgiving 🦃 thank you!
I read the comments because sometimes there are little tidbits of additional info on the recipe when you respond however I was shocked at the mean and accusations of your favorite cooking items. We all have our favs and often share what they are call and who manufactures them. Humanity has become so hate filled and you were so kind in your responses. Bless you and thank you for sharing your cooking talents with us. Gonna try this recipe for sure.
You're a very wonderful lady! Thank you for sharing your recipe, going to make them for our Thanksgiving dessert 💛 2022
That looks delicious! I will definitely be making it for the upcoming holidays.
Thanks for the Pecan Bar recipe! I'd been buying these at a BBQ place. Now I can make my own!
I have arthritic finger joints so would use any type of potato masher to make blending those ingredients much easier.
I’m salivating watching you eat the finish product
OMG!!!! drools... Love the sounds of this... can't wait to try it
Hope you enjoy it!
I'll try these. I have a butter tart squares recipe that I really love, which also has a shortbread crust.
I made these yesterday and they turned out great! Thank you for sharing the recipe.
I can't wait to make these. Its perfect size . Thank you for Sharing
You are so welcome!
Good grief, that literally took you 20 minutes to put together. It looks amazing, too. I need to try this!
I hope you enjoy them! Let me know how the crust turned out using the blender!
@@TheSaltedPepper it is sooo yummy!!! I wish I could take a picture for you! Could spots of leakage but otherwise looks like yours! So glad I used the parchment paper too! Lol
@@TheSaltedPepper also, my 4 year old daughter loved helping me make these! Def kid friendly!
Looks like so much fun to make. Looking forward to trying it out. Thank you.
Hope you enjoy it!
Hi, I want to try these, they look very good. My whole life apple was always my favorite pie, until I tried my first slice of pecan pie. Now, the two pies run 50/50. Just like a close election, lol. I really like your recipes, your attitude ( you don't demean) and your ideas. Thank You
Bet you got another tie or those bars will def nudge out the gooey pie! 🎄✨💯
I love oven too! And now I know how to dehydrate foods correctly in it 😉
Ive been subscribing to you're channel for a long time now and want to say you have one of the best cooking shows on the air!
