Toast 4 C pecans until fragrant 350F 10 mins. Crust: 1.75 C flour, 6 T sugar, 8 T butter melted, 0.5 t salt. 9x13” metal pan generously buttered Syrup: 0.5 C corn syrup, 0.75 C brown sugar, 7 T melted butter, 1t vanilla, 0.5 t salt. Bake 350F for 25 minutes. I’d probably make a little more of the crust. I think they are packing their flour.
Toast 4 cups pecans until fragrant 350F, 7 to 10 mins. Crust: 1 3/4 cup flour 6 tablespoons sugar, 8 tablespoons butter, unsalted, melted. 1/2 teaspoon salt 9x13” metal pan generously buttered, or foil covered or parchment paper. Press crust evenly onto bottom of pan. Topping Syrup: 1/2 cup corn syrup, white or dark 3/4 cup brown sugar 7 tablespoons melted butter, unsalted, melted. 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon salt 4 cups toasted pecans, (can course chop 1/2 of them) Mix all Topping Syrup together, except pecans, mixing really well. Now add pecans, poor over un-baked crust. Bake 350F for 25 minutes. Bake on bottom rack of oven so bottom of crust can turn golden brown. Sprinkle Flakey salt, on top of baked pecan bars. Optional! Cool for 11/2 hours then cut in squares. May want to cut edges off first, score cut marks, then cut all the way through.
These were amazing. Our first batch, the nuts got a little too toasty, and my pan was glass, and a little bigger than hers. So the bottom was sticky, not crumbly and firm like hers. Second batch was better. Smaller pan, lightly toasted nuts. My oven is electric and almost impossible to bake in. The heat is uneven. The nuts were $20, but overall less expensive than a pecan pie and tasted better! We're a fan. Thank you!
I made these for Thanksgiving. Literally they stole the show. They are AMAZING!! They are the only thing there are no left overs for. You won’t be sorry, you have to make these.
I have never been a fan of pecan pies or pecan bars. I made these for a friend who requested a pecan pie for her birthday. I was a little nervous about making a pie but a day before her birthday this video came up on my UA-cam feed and I thought I would give it a try. The bars were amazing and my friend was thrilled! Bravo ATK!
My daughter LOVES pecan pie and wants one for Thanksgiving. I adore pecans but cannot stand pecan pie as it is too too sweet and rich. This will be a nice compromise, I think.....plus the recipe is simpler than most and I have alot of faith in the recipes you guys put out. Every one that I have tried comes out awesome.
I baked this yesterday and tried it today. I just used half of the recipe but without changing the baking time. It was delicious! I Sweetness is just right. The crust is not soggy at all. Just like the video. Thank you for sharing this. Well done.
This was the first time I ever made a nut bar and these were superb. I enjoy watching your videos and this one grabbed my attention as a possibility for my holiday cookie tray. Elle's demo made it look easy and it was! I was amazed at the delicious texture of the pecans and toffee. Very edible. Perfect balance of crust and butter on the bottom. Sensational with the flaked salt on top.
I love this channel. Im glad for the ability to see all the instructions on the recipes which were not previously available unless you had a subscription.
I’ve had this video in my saved file for a long time. I made these instead of my usual bar. These are simpler and far superior in taste. Toasting the pecans is a game changer! I’ll never use the old recipe again. Thanks, ATK!
Outstanding! Would make a nice gift for friends family or coworkers. You ladies and gentlemen at ATK are so talented. Thanks for all your creative and delicious work throughout the many years!
I do love me some Ell and I’ve always said that, but she hit this one out of the park like 3 times. So easy and so delicious. The hit of the meal. Beyond good. This lady never fails to amaze.
Ladies, I made these today and they are amazing in so many ways! Easy and quick for sure. The toasted nuts make all the difference. I will never ever make the other ones again -- this has just become my go-to. Delicious!
I didn't grow up on pecan pie, so I wasn't a fan of the jelly layer. Now these are a different story...yummy crust with loads of pecans. What more could you want! 💕
Fantastic recipe. I saw a video using Graham crackers, but the sugar cookie dough looks so much better. Thank you, ladies, for a great cooking video . God bless you
I finally got up the courage to make these pecan bars. I made two batches. Both were scrumptious!!! I made a couple of tweaks to the recipe. I par baked the crust for the second batch. I preferred the par baked crust. My family and friends loved both. Winner!!
Thanks for a substitute. We wanted a pie but the bar makes sense and provides variation. I like that it is easy and not so much prep or dishes. I am going to try this out this Christmas
Made this great recipe today! Enjoyed it very much. Thank You! (My own preference, I think I’ll double the crust recipe as mine did not cover the bottom of my 9 x 13” pan; and I’ll make just a little bit more of the filling part to even out the 4 cups of pecans.) Cheers and Merry Christmas 🎄!
Made a half batch tonight, only had 2 cups of pecans on hand. They were great, like pecan brittle with a cookie. Forgot the sling, and they still slid right out of the pan. What could be better than sugar, butter, and nuts. Thank you. (Wish I still lived in the Boston area, I would love to come and wash your dishes!)
Love watching and rewatching ATK, Cooks Country, and Julia at Home, and all the Chef's for all the wonderful recipes, and helpful advice for cookware, and better flavored food you provide. Thank you! Checked out Careers available and would so enjoy doing recipe research if I lived closer. Too bad can't be a researcher remotely.
I made this. Delish!!!!! Only modification I made was to sub out some of the Karo syrup for [real] maple syrup just to bring a little extra flavor to the party.
I followed the hard to get recipe to the T and here is what I'll do the next time. 1. reduce the amount of flour to 1.5 cups. because there is too much bread on the bottom of the pecans. 2. increase the syrup to 3/4 cup corn syrup and use a complete stick of butter, i.e. 8 T. I want to have more of the corn syrup and brown sugar between the bread and pecans.
I just made the Pecan Squares following my changes to their recipe and have the following suggestion. Using 1.5 cups of flour makes the dough too thin in a 9" x 13" pan. so I recommend using the 1 and 3/4 cups of AP flour. However, i did use 1 cup of corn syrup and a complete stick of butter and like the amount of goo I used to coat the pecans.
I always pre-toast my nuts when I bake. There is such a difference in flavor. When I make my pecan bars I make them on a large sheet pan and I use sugar cookie dough as the crust very thinly spread.
Hi Elizabeth. I had leftover sugar cookie dough from last night, just enough for half the recipe. They're baking now...I hope they'll be good enough. I only had a cup of pecans and of course half the recipe would use two cups but I normally would cut that back to about 1 and 1/2 so it was a little shy and I did not toast my pecans either because I wanted to do it fast. I was needing the oven for dinner. But it seemed like enough; and I coarsely broke my pecans like another recipe said. What I like about this recipe is it doesn't use eggs or sweetened condensed milk. I cut back the fat in the filling bc the cookie dough had so much. And cut it back a wee bit in the filling, too. Who needs it?!! Ha! Thx again! 💜
I need to find a better sugar cookie recipe. I rarely make them, tho'. Too much butter, ick. It made the bottom greasy. I'll try the regular recipe nxt time & save the cookie dough for cookies, Thank you very much lol
Okay, I never make comments from recipes I found online. But damn, these are incredible. I got rave reviews at Thanksgiving. This is a great recipe that I will be making for holiday events for years to come!
✍Hello...I love pecan pie but I've only tried making it once unsuccessfully I must say but I'm definitely going to give this recipe a try real soon. Thanks for sharing 💕 Bye from Ohio 🌹

I love Elle! Her blue hair looks great!
I ve made these several times and they are the BEST!
I watched another video for pecan bars before I watched this one. I loved the simplicity of this one. Thanks for the tips!
Just made this for the first time today. All the pecan flavor of the pie without the heavy filling. A+. This will be my pecan dessert goto now.
I baked this yesterday and tried it today. I just used half of the recipe but without changing the baking time. It was delicious! I Sweetness is just right. The crust is not soggy at all. Just like the video. Thank you for sharing this. Well done.

How many cups of nuts did you use? 4?
@@ldeskins1 I used 3 1/2 cups of nuts but I chopped my a bit rather than whole

Amazingly delicious! Everyone that has tried this loves it. It’s a must make!!

This is the pecan bars recipe I've been searching for a long time...Yummy and easy to make..
These really are excellent and beyond easy - have made them twice now.
I finally got up the courage to make these pecan bars. I made two batches. Both were scrumptious!!! I made a couple of tweaks to the recipe. I par baked the crust for the second batch. I preferred the par baked crust. My family and friends loved both. Winner!!
I love to see Elle's cooking segments & I 🥰 pecan bars
Wonderful. I added the grated zest of an orange to the pecan mixture. Yum.
This recipe makes perfect bars! It is now a family favorite! Thanks for making good home cooked food!
Those pecan bars are looking so delicious and I wish that I was a baker and was making them. Thanks for sharing that recipe with all of us.
Made these today and totally blown away!!! Highly recommend ❤️

You’re not only great cooks, you’re adorable.
I love pecan pie and will definitely be trying their recipe. I have all of the ingredients in my pantry.

This bar tasted good, but there was not enough filling for the amount of pecans for my taste. More of a pecan bar than pecan pie bar.
Love these videos and Pecan Bar recipe. Thanks for your talent and information
Best crust recipe to hold up and stay firm ❤
I love recipes that are this simple! Thank you!
I made these about a month ago, and OH MY so, so good!!!! Making more tonight. However, I used Traders Joe ready made crust.
Made a half batch tonight, only had 2 cups of pecans on hand. They were great, like pecan brittle with a cookie. Forgot the sling, and they still slid right out of the pan. Did you follow the recipe from the show or print it out from the site? Any tips? I wanna tackle this.
Ozaer Najim nothing to it, just follow the recipe step by step.

I just had m first taste, delicious thank you
Love this recipe
Can't wait to try
They are very good. For me I wonder what I missed because I thought they would be sweeter
Can you use sling parchment paper instead? I don't cook aluminum into my food.
@America’s Test Kitchen can I ask why you chose unsalted butter over salted? Would condensed milk be an ok subsitute for Corn syrup?
Awesome! I will try it
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Tried to write down instructions on ½ speed.
Couldn't stop laughing! Try it. J & E sounded like they imbibed on the back of the TK🤣
Thank you
Love you Ladies.❤❤
Oooo I’m making these ty
Making these today👏🏾
I like when she said "MMm that's good" and her eyebrow went up! :D
I'd like to bake this pecan bar recipe for upcoming Thanksgiving, question, how many days ahead can I make these bars ?
