- Real world review of the Auto MX808. The more advanced computers systems in cars get the more often I have found that I can't figure out exactly what is wrong with a car. This 2007 Mercedes ML320 with a OM642 Diesel engine has lost power and has a few engine codes that could be an intake valve swirl motor, or a bad turbo actuator, or it could just be in LIMP mode. I need to find out so I can fix the problem.
So now with this tool I can run a turbo actuator test.

Sorry about the audio! There was a problem with something that caused it to not work on some android devices. Most users should be able to hear it if switching to headphones or watching from an iPhone or windows device.
With the mx808 can you view live/real time data for misfires via # counter and graphs?
Yes it has a lot of live data available.

I am an retired engineer and totally agree with your statement. The more advanced computer systems in cars the more I can't figure out exactly what is wrong with a car. I have a ML350 2012 BlueTEC 4Matic diesel Mercedes with only 65k mileage. I have replaced many parts and try to fix the limp mode. I have iCarsoft MBII scanner to read fault codes and erase them. I just recently learn that a scanner is not a bi-directional tool such that limits lots of capabilities. Can the Maxicheck MX808 reset the ECM because of parts' replacements? Have you done DPF reset/regeneration?
Yes, this one does the DPF regen and it can re-learn some parts. There is a limited amount it can do for the 2007 ML that I worked on in this video but I have used it to relearn a turbo actuator and a few other parts on other cars and trucks.
Autel has the worst registration process, horrible is the best way to describe it. Who ever designed Autel's registration process should be fired.

I have a real question that I can’t find and answer too. Can the maxicheck MX 808 relearn the crank and camshaft sensors on a Nissan? This is the million dollar question that can’t be answered. HELP!!!!
I can’t say for sure myself I don’t have a Nissan to test on.
I can tell you that it can relearn sensors on my Mercedes and my ram, it also seems to be able to calibrate turbo actuators.
I can’t say for sure: but my guess is that I think it would be able to do that.
If you email thier support the vin number they might answer more clearly.

@@btcsys there was some problems for some android users.
Try watching on a PC or plug in a different set of headphones. My dad had the same problem but was able to hear on a different device.
Sorry for the trouble. I found the issue and corrected it in more recent videos.

So if I’m not mistaken, that shown only 2 pounds of boost total. Running from atmosphere pressure to 16.8 would be 2 psi of boost. Normally it reads the map sensor in atmospheric pressure not at 0 starting point.
Yeah, I realized that later when reading more about the sensor data. That psi number was absolute not a boost pressure number. It still gave me the numbers it should for the test but it did take some research to figure out if the numbers I saw were what I should see. And they were from what I could find.
My main goal was to make sure the loss of power was not the turbo actuator. And it wasn’t. It ended up being In limp mode due to a failed swirl motor.
Dpf for sure. Dpf off and EGR off, problem solved.
Can this model Mx808 read older mercedes using 38pin socket,?
Not this one, it does not have the adapters needed.
I think that autel has some that will but this mx808 does not

A whole year of updates with the purchase I’m sure it will do some functions on the 2022 sprinter, but just what those are would be a better question for autel, I don’t have one nearby to test sorry.

Can it check monitors for smog to see if they’re ready?
Yes it was also watch them live while you drive and you can watch them become active and pass or fail as you go so you don’t need to guess how long to drive it to get the readiness set.
Would you happen to know if it programs tcms
this particular model can read a lot of transmission stuff, and do some basic resets on the TCM but I am not aware of any ability to program the TCM (like shift points or torque managment anything like that.) The best bet to find out if it can perform the task you're looking to do is to email their customer support and ask about the car/VIN and task you're looking to accomplish.

When my dad watched it he had the same problem. But when he used his computer instead of his phone it sounded fine. I don’t know why it happened. But I’m hoping it doesn’t keep happening.
Phone had no sound however headphones was loud and clear

The sound has an issue with android devices. There was some kind of a problem with the upload. That android. Users can’t hear it. Try using headphones or a computer to listen to the audio.
Hey man, does this allow for relearns to the SDS system? I’ve got a pesky airbag light that won’t go out despite all sensors being fine. Dealership flashed a new BCM and they did not do the SDM relearn to BCM, wondering if this device can do that.
It can do a lot of functions like that, but it may depend on the specific year make and model. The best bet is to check with autel to see if they can confirm that function for your specific model.
Sound is all messed up
Yes sorry, something was wrong with audio that affected some Android devices. Please try headphones or use a computer or apple device to view.
Will this do a throttle idle relearn on a 2015 Silverado 5.3.? Any info would help. I’m undecided on this model or the mx900
I’m not sure, I think it probably will based on what I’ve seen…, but I’d recommend checking autel website and asking their support for any specifics.

The audio on this video does not play on some android devices for some unknown reason. Try using headphones or a windows/Linux/apple or other device to watch.
Will the MX808s model do a Transmission adaptive relearn?
I don’t know for which models it can do what, it’s a very capable tool, but if you have any specific questions like that I have found autel support to be well informed and somewhat responsive.

Some android users had a hard time hearing the audio on this video. Most of the time it can be solved by putting in headphones or viewing from a computer.
I don’t know what happened to cause it but most apple users and computers are able to hear it.

Can this model datalog live information?
Yes if it can read it, it can log it there are some limitations on exporting it from the device but if you’re okay reading the data on the device it works fine to read and log live data if it can be read.
@@MalarkeyTaylor Thanks for the quick answer. Can the log file be emailed as a csv file? Or can I go back and play the log as a graph. My ecu tuner needs me to send him a log that contains rpm, turbo boost, and fuel pump pressure. If this scanner can’t do that, could you recommend a reasonably priced scanner that could accomplish what I need?

@@desmorider747 I think it can do what you’re asking for some cars. I would recommend checking with autel support to make sure that your year make and model are supported/covered by their system for the data that you’re looking for.

No, it can’t modify any tune parameters.
