Hi there. How does one apply an image layer on top of a textured base layer? Eg. a print on a canvas bag which shows the canvas texture through the print layer? As one would do with a multiply blending mode in Photoshop?
There's a lot of ways to do that in Octane, try the Multiply node or Composite Texture node. If you'd like to learn more about Octane try our Octane Masterclass here: cgshortcuts.com/product/the-ultimate-octane-masterclass
Hey Zioms, you might want to check out our Ultimate Octane Masterclass here: cgshortcuts.com/product/the-ultimate-octane-masterclass we cover this exact issue and LOADS more - you'll be an Octane pro after watching;)

Thanks Dave very much If you accept the comments tutorial request : I always facing problem with compositing render passes layers sort In c4d i always save .aec file, and open it in AE I found the layers not sorted correctly and the footage isn't the same in C4D I'm trying to change the above layers down and the abelow layers up, and no way to sort it correctly to find the same thing as C4D external render window My question is : anyway to sort the passes correctly in AE as a Standard sorting to use it for all my progects? Thanks Dave again for everything i have learned from your videos

Great tutorial. Now let's say your client need both stickers another colour. The upper one blue and the lower one orange. Let's pretenmd this is a heavy render and you have to render it 10 hours. With cryptomattes only the first material is shopwn in after effects. If you render this with "Marterial ID" checked on in info passes, also only the first object is seen. What do I need to set to adjust multiple stickers later on in After Effects?? Especially 1 object with multiple materials like this setup??

Just an FYI in 2023! Before layering the alpha material on top of the other, make sure your object has an Octane Object tag.

Why does my transparent png still have a white background when placed into the image texture node?

When turning alpha the texture appears, but than disappears. Looks like a bug, but I can not solve it
Ohh solved it. But another problem. When putting sticker to specular material, the material looks like mirror not even specular
This also solved. Now another problem- whe I try to render, the sticker disappears
Problem is solved! Thank You =D Octane took texture which was original on the object (do not know why). I deleted it and now it is working how it should
Well done mate! 👍
How did you solve the first problem?
Poor dave rendering with a 970
