Trolling OFFSHORE on a 17' Whaler! Bonus Tuna on the Planer while ISO Wahoo!

You don't need a quad engine 40 foot center console to get offshore and catch fish. While the comfort that comes along with that fishing experience is undeniable, the fish don't know what size your boat is or how fast it goes! In this video we jumped on the Encore Lite, a 17 foot refurbished 1972 Whaler, to do some trolling in hopes of catching a wahoo or any other pelagics. We pulled artificial lures and strip baits on planers and flat lines. Fishing from a whaler is as close to the water as you get without actually being in it! So much fun!!!!! Thats a limerick hook for those who care. mustad 31022D. you gotta bend them straight but they're about 1.5" longer than normal. that plus the swivel and the witch hair and you rarely get bit off so can run flouro to the hook

None needed. It handles the weight fine as is. The new 115 Pro XS from Mercury is lighter than previous models.
