The fact that the opening ship you made is ugly by your standards really opened my eyes to how low mine are.
Simply Gaming somehow I always manage to make something vaguely rectangular prism like if I try and make a submarine or a plane. I don’t even know how, I’ve looked into aerodynamics and everything as a personal interest, I know what you need to make them work, I just fail at it xD

That's just the thing though. Making an intelligently designed thing is all well and good, until you have five minutes to do it and then then answer is always going to be, "Add more boat." No matter the problem, that is the answer. Unless it's a plane.

As someone with 700+ hours in space engineers, I don't think its a good fit for lathrix. The game is too easy. The only "difficulty" is a very shallow curve of ship design, and then the endless tedium of resource harvesting. Bigger mining craft rapidly loose efficiency. There is a lot to be said for the in-game programmable blocks, but spending hours in c# doesn't seem like good content for this channel.

This is gonna be a fun time, watching the fishing boat eventually evolve into what may be a renowned battleship of the Lathrix Navy that has been forged in the fires of battle using the remains of conquered enemies and resource zones.

I like the idea of improving your vessel by turning your previous vessel into an internal compartment of your new vessel. Oh and the small 'core' boat could become the superstructure of your next upgrade.

RTGs are quite expensive and aren’t the most efficient in terms of their space occupied/power generated ratio.

I forgot about adventure mode. iirc I started with a speed boat and turned it into a small airship, was planning on going for flying battleship but never got back to the mode

There is also tactical view (or whatever it is called) that you always forget exists because this is the mode where it is the most useful.
Glad you're going for a ship this time. Flyers are so OP in this mode.

I really like this, watching a stressed and paranoid Lathland
I'd really like to see your ship become some kind of Atlas style airship, I think it would look pretty cool. Probably not practical, as that reduces your fuel refining efficiency, but maybe worth it for the travel speed boost?
I love how the little starter ship is becoming like the bridge to a larger ship as he flees danger.
When his "horrendous little thing" is better than literally EVERYTHING that you build.
A little tip for adventure mode put every skill point you have into seismic scanning to upgrade your resource gatherers

I missed this series so much! From the depths is an amazing game and I loved all your old gameplay of it!! I’m so happy to see you do another campaign and I hope maybe you might do more in the future! Maybe even another land version!
Most ships are heavy on the back end slightly as it lowers the prop shaft deeper to prevent cavitation. I have also heard of some ships implementing the use of a piece of material (I would assume metal) which sits horizontally over the propeller to direct the flow of water and increase thrust.
Also if you still struggle with balancing weight on a larger ship, just add a huge bow dome. Most ships have large bow domes for ballast and sonar arrays.
Instal like before the ad is even finished. I just know as always, lathrix will more than earn every second of my attention.
