Watching that, I had a horrific idea for a boarding craft weapon- a seat, surrounded by drills/spin block rams, mounted on a set of pistons. Once the standard ramming happens, the pistons extend, boring a small hole into the target with you in the seat, inserting you deep inside. Like your boarding craft is a genestealer.
This campaign is kind of more fun to watch than Neter because it births crafts like this one... Keep up the good work man it makes quarantine bearable much love

Hey Lathrix I have a tip for you: If you place a ram (or a couple) on the end of two fully extended pistons (24 meters) and rotate the entire construct on a spin block, angular momentum dictates that the tips can reach around 800 meters per second, which can easily shred large ships like the crossbones.

I recently discovered this channel and this game and I've been excited to see you do some kind of series on it. I love your build videos and test videos, but when you do that kind of stuff in a more consequential environment where you don't have control over where the enemies come from or what they are and it's a surprise, and there is some kind of continuity and evolution in the ships you use it gets pretty interesting to watch. I look forward to seeing more of this
Thematically a ramming style ship that literally eats other craft to add to it's self sounds pretty amazing actually.... Like that harpoon maw thing you'd built a few years ago that could jump out of the water and eat airships. Or pull them into the water.
2 suggestion, 1.) Put the harpoon on the side of the ship around front to help. 2.) Have one cram canon and one rapid fire turret in the back but while one is on the other is off( to save ammo) depending on what is chasing you. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work.
Just a quick note about viewer motivations. One of the reason that so many have asked why you don't build a sub is because, as you noted, it is the smart option, thus the one many of them would choose, and therefore, the one they *most* want ideas, inspiration, etc, from your videos about. If viewers just wanted to see you derp, you could have a lifestyle vlog of you going about mundane day-to day life experiences :D One reason that people subscribe to you is that they enjoy the games you play, and get a lot of inspiration and enjoyment from watching you solve the same puzzles and problems they have to. In other words, with a little psychology, you see that the questions are more like requests, showing where audience demand is (how to grow the channel). We all get that you like to give yourself extra challenges, but honestly, a lot of your viewers probably don't - at least not before it becomes "toying with one's food". For a lot of us, just making good builds at all is already challenge enough. We add to that challenge by trying to min-max certain attributes, and by trying to make them look cool. Compared to those endless and eternal struggles, ones you still feel yourself, stuff like building only in wood, or not using a particular weapon type feels kinda, well, frivolous, minor... even sometimes lame. Of course you have to enjoy it. Unless of course you are doing it as work and for money (at which time you only need to be able to get through it to keep doing it indefinitely without hating yourself, just like most people's experiences of their jobs. XD ) But for a channel to thrive, the viewers have to enjoy it even more, right?
@Lathland I actually like the shape of this ship xD I think you finally made a bridge that suits the craft too. This should be in your next campaign just for fun.
I made an interesting missile once, called it the Squirreler, that could easily grab a Flying Squirrel and think it could help here. Add a magnet to the front of the missile. That way the harpoon is drawn into a craft and rarely miss. And even if they do, they turn quicker.
Hey Lath, just so you know, if you're using RTGs/EEs, set the EEs to .28 power and build enough batteries to make up for it. It's the most material-efficient way to get consistent power.
Idea time! Make a really sharp sword type thing and once it gets into the hull of the enemy ship make it seperate itself apart ripping the enemies hull apart.
Love the new series! I've heard shields are rather nerfed, however, so, armor will need to be one of the primary means of increasing survivability for now, along with stuff to deal with missiles and all.
So if you make it a flyer you can do harpoons on the bottom and spinblocks along the keel so that you lift them up to their death. Make it a flyer, Lathrix! :)
Lathland, I have a suggestion. Try installing the spinner on the front of your vehicle like a tunnel boring machine. Not sure if this will work out not but if like to see!
Seeing as how this ramming vehicle is half a ship and brings Doom to all who sees it, you should name it "The Draug" In Norwegian folk tales, the Draug is an entity that sails in the storm in half a boat, and all who sees him is doomed to shipwreck. I don't think he actually kills anyone, he is more of a harbinger of Death. Give you a couple of minutes to rethink Your life Choices at the end. Really a kindness, if you think of it like that. And, I assume that, as always, we ARE the Good Guys?
If you want a fun way to scout then maybe you can use the wireless camera, remote vehicle controller, and control terminal in the control tab to make a scout vessel. The wireless camera also comes with a zoom setting, and lets you control turrets they're mounted to.

Lath, you should start experimenting with warp drives. They'll allow you to pick your fights and be able to simply leave the battle.
They are also prohibitively expensive early on and not that good at running away.

My weapon of choice for early adventure weapon was always particle cannon.
It is very easy to make and works decently well at mid ranges.
