I for one love the ultra loud explosions of the nukes, adds a bit of realism to it. Plus, i just like to use them for a self-destruct mechanism on my super large ships. Also, a prerequisite mod for the nukes is the bigger explosions mod, which works by combining multiple explosions together into one bigger explosion (which is probably where the bugginess comes from). So you can bunch together a whole lot thermo-nukes and get something similar to what you saw in the video. There's still a cap to it, but still.
You can raise the cap which is what I did for the video. My problem isn't that they're loud, it's that they're way louder, regardless of range, than everything else in the game. Like, why can I hear the nuke, at full volume, in the vacuum of space?
Read this comment and thought "There is no sound in freaking vacuum so throw your realism out of the window.", then saw the answers and disappointed thought "Ahhhh, dammit someone was faster correcting him -.-"
I haven't watched the entire video yet, but I believe I know what's going on with Explosion Damage and Explosion Radius. Just a feeling. Radius determines the maximum size of an explosion, EI how far out it can deal damage from its center. Damage determines how much damage an explosion can deal within its radius. If the radius is only 5 meters, no matter how much damage the explosion deals, it can't spread outside that 5 meters. If the explosion could do infinite damage, it would destroy every single block inside its radius every time. Therefore, Explosion Radius is the one that would allow you to potentially affect an entire planet, but it would only do so if it had the damage to back it up and destroy every block.
I always wondered whether or not Space Engineers has its own version of far lands. The engine should break at some giant distance from the center but I don't know where and how this happens. Considering that this is 64 bit game, this distance may be extremely far away and it also may not contain any spectacular terrain because every planet and asteroid have its own voxel grid
I'm playing on official server from Keen and it can drop you 5,6 light seconds from Earthlike. It's almost 1,7 mln km and everything was fine with engine.
@@ZarenthaThat's weird. At that distance, you shouldn't even be able to move. I got a challenge how fast can you mine a planet bare, and retain all that materials. The goal is to get mine as fast as possible within the base game stuff no mods, and how much materials can you get from the mining. There is no limit on the amount of ships, amount of Player help, nor limit on size of ship, so long as it's vanilla. For practice you could use the same world you already have in these videos. Will it take a day, will it take half day, a quarter of the day, couple of hours less then 30 minutes?
Still would like to see the rail gun manage it. It would take some doing, and be a semi massive project but could you just position railguns around the planet and have each one go off after a set period of time so that they hit the planet with very little time in between thus bypassing the explosion limit. Or just make a ship that can eat the planet. Yum!!
Thinking about it, I'd love to see one of these nukes mounted into the bunker buster. Functionally no different, but thematically I feel it's fitting to have it drill down (possibly even to the "core") and then detonate

Sorry, I'm a lot more scared of F rather than C. Example: "Oh, it's 30 hots outside"(C) vs "DAMN, IT'S 100 HOTS OUTSIDE"(F), very scientific, and proves my point. more hots= ouchies
I understand it's not science if you don't write stuff down but the spreadsheet in the beginning is kind of crazy that's a lot of work for wanting to blow up a planet
I have the exact same thermometer in my room because of a few things I live in the attic so during the winter its always very cold and during the summer it always gets super hot I never open my window because as soon as I do bugs enter my room and bite me while I sleep which is extremely annoying and I don't like bugs. I like bugs, but not the ones that enter my room. I want to know the temperature out of curiosity and to show people that I am in fact not overreacting by saying it's extremely hot in my room I often play beat saber very intensely in my room and last time I did it was 21C outside but it got to 35C in my room
My office is in the attic as well which means it's also really cold during the winter and hot during the summer. The nice thing is, I have a PC to keep me warm during the winter. During the summer, I also have a PC keeping me warm... 😓
I would actually assume that the radius IS the radius, but the damage is either lessened with distance from the centerpoint, or distributed/subtracted from any dirt it eats through. Possibly both.
3:15 both are made for measuring different things, from 0-to-100. With F you’re measuring between the most common actual natural temperatures of very-cold and very-hot (I know, so imprecise, isn’t it?) and unless you’ve got real world problems you’re not going to see beyond that. It literally just tells you how cold-or-hot it is outside, on a scale of 0-to-100. While with C you’re measuring all temperatures between the freezing and boilings points of water at sea level (which is a much nicer definition, than some arbitrary *feeling* point on either end of the scale). But if you get to 100 you’ve been dead for a while, and you regularly see the negatives in winter; it’s much better for scientific notation. We Americans are too stupid in general to use a more complicated scale, we like bigger numbers, and we disagree so much with each other that we *need* twice the amount of degrees to argue over. Though at least we aren’t using K to depict livable weather. 0-to-100 with K is a whole lot of DEAD- that scale’s for wildly low temperatures, and nothing else. I myself use metric over imperial, because it’s a better system for base-ten measurements of distance; and I use F over C, because it’s a better system for base-ten measurements of temperature🤷♂️. If our distance measurements are so bad (I agree, they’re pretty bad), then why are *your* temperature measurements so bad? They literally have the *same* problem. Though admittedly to different extents. X-x- EDIT : though if you’re interested, 0 to 100 F = (about) -17 to 37 C (it *isn’t* a nice round conversion). That’s a scale where the bottom is very-cold, and the top is very-hot (unless you’re in a particular *violent* part of the world, or having a particularly *bad* week). And it’s almost-but-not-quite a 2:1 conversion, offset by 32; so if you’re willing to accept a bit of variance, and you don’t have access to Google, do [F-32/2=C] OR [C*2+32=F]. It’s almost right for all you’ll ever need it for, and much easier than multiplying fractions in your head [C = *exactly* F-32*5/9].
So nuclear weapons isn't the mod that allows bigger explosions, it's the dependant mod called "" bigger explosions"" that provides an API to generate larger explosions. The nuclear weapons mod just allows you to harness that if you want to do this without nuclear stuff use kinetic devistaion with a unlimited speed mod
I still want to make a mining drill that is able to mine straight through the planet. I made a nice Mining rig and platform, that uses a script to control the drill, but couldn't find out how to make a blueprint for the rig that also builds more of the rail it moves along, and then moves down to it. I can probably do that now, which I will try, but it was the last part I needed to complete to finish the drill... that and speed up the refineries, as they produce planets worth of iron, silicon, and nickel, yet also take slightly longer to process than the drill can mine... which tends to stop it an hour into mining and require a manual restart so it finishes the mining segment.

Well, if I can get other people to do it for me, then that makes it easier. I'll just sit and watch😜
@@Zer0sLegion make tournament?
3:19 bruh. You could only use a quarter of Celsius for measuring your real life atmosphere. (Only a little salty.)
Also 😂, great video man!
😏
Now destroy the whole galaxy in one shot 😅
Bruh, you people will never be happy! 😅
@@Zer0sLegionjust delete a save lol
i am curious what would it take to mine this planet and store the resource's in 1 motion. basically a planet miner
fires a planet ending weapon in-game...
irl... hey why is everything melting...
the game... satellite laser weapon simulation system, property of NATO
We need a spaceship made for holing through a planet that does not get crash damage, travels really fast and gets out of it from the other side
Still would like to see the rail gun manage it. It would take some doing, and be a semi massive project but could you just position railguns around the planet and have each one go off after a set period of time so that they hit the planet with very little time in between thus bypassing the explosion limit. Or just make a ship that can eat the planet. Yum!!
I need someone to raise the explosion limit really, there's no way of doing it with multiple railguns.
Spreading the railguns across the face of the ORB would-could spread the explosions, spreading the damage and making sure more voxels are affected.

New Objective "Shoot a Hole into Mars"
Thinking about it, I'd love to see one of these nukes mounted into the bunker buster. Functionally no different, but thematically I feel it's fitting to have it drill down (possibly even to the "core") and then detonate
18:55 pov: when a small planet has a supervolcanic eruption
Bit of an old video by now, but I've subbed due to the sheer amount of effort you put into this. My brain would be hotter than your CPU if I tried the process you use.
LMAO @ 20:39 Flat earthers everywhere are screaming at the screen: "See! We told you!!!"
👀
So, you destroyed the future of the planet in one blast. ...It just took a bit for the reality to set in. Well done.
I never heard of this game but now my interest on this game is peaked
Be very careful! I'm an old time Minecraft & No Man's Sky player who has become addicted to Space Engineers. It's kinda like crack - only worse.

How do I get to this page? A mod renamed my MR 30E Magazine to 5.56x45mm Magazine and when I went to uninstall it the name did not change back.
Edit: It no longer shows up on the crafting menu so I wanted to change the name back to see of that worked.
That's a mod file but you can view all of the ingame files in the game's folder.
Sorry, I'm a lot more scared of F rather than C. Example: "Oh, it's 30 hots outside"(C) vs "DAMN, IT'S 100 HOTS OUTSIDE"(F), very scientific, and proves my point. more hots= ouchies
lol
What Will happen first? Destroying a planet in one shot
CPU getting destroyed on one shot
I understand it's not science if you don't write stuff down but the spreadsheet in the beginning is kind of crazy that's a lot of work for wanting to blow up a planet
What can I say, I love a spreadsheet 😉
I love the mysterious feeling of not real planet that been compelitely destroyed

So the real death star is an autonomous station for creating and launching thermonuclear missiles?
I have the exact same thermometer in my room because of a few things
I live in the attic so during the winter its always very cold and during the summer it always gets super hot
I never open my window because as soon as I do bugs enter my room and bite me while I sleep which is extremely annoying and I don't like bugs. I like bugs, but not the ones that enter my room.
I want to know the temperature out of curiosity and to show people that I am in fact not overreacting by saying it's extremely hot in my room
I often play beat saber very intensely in my room and last time I did it was 21C outside but it got to 35C in my room
My office is in the attic as well which means it's also really cold during the winter and hot during the summer. The nice thing is, I have a PC to keep me warm during the winter. During the summer, I also have a PC keeping me warm... 😓
You know.. recreating the moon experience where it smashes against the planet and then enters orbit could be interesting
Planets unfortunately don't move in SE so we can't do that.
catch me usin' this mod to make a snow-globe world
I would actually assume that the radius IS the radius, but the damage is either lessened with distance from the centerpoint, or distributed/subtracted from any dirt it eats through. Possibly both.
We tested that in the video and proved that wasn't the case.
"Now, you'll see it destroys it in an interesti-"
*_wrath of zeus_*
Now... Destroy your CPU! Setting the railgun to a billion should do it.
Holy ShiihS, I also live in the uk and I have little experience of 28*c+, and I can tell you, it’s hotter than you think.
Edit: corrections.
X-x-
EDIT : though if you’re interested, 0 to 100 F = (about) -17 to 37 C (it *isn’t* a nice round conversion).
I just find it funny that America is one of 3 countries in the world to use Fahrenheit and one of the others is an ex-american vassal state.
I love how the hole just poops into existence XD
Enemies, consume them with ship grinders only in one pass without stopping
Bro that nuke going off jeez
theres a mod that adds a gun that just deletes anything it hits, including planets. I only used it once as it immediately crashed
That sounds pretty fun lol
Theres nothing like the force of nature that is thermonuclear railguns :D
it's raining in the east midlands and hot somehow, so feel like it's worse here
What mod do you use to have custom explosion sizes?
Linked in the description.
man is siting in a microwave 30c is so hot man, thats about 86f for the americans
"WARNING, BFG 10K IS FIRING"
That's no moon. It's a space station!
Bigger explosions is a requirement of nuclear weapons. I'm using both to create the explosions in the video.

What if you make a massive Pac-Man like ship that completely devours mini-mars

What we need os a missile that penetrates then detonates
You can using the 2CM lasers mod and, i think its called the Bigger explosions mod? I made what I call the "Archimedes Cannon" and mounted it on a custom-made ship I built for it, that did the trick.
Bigger explosions requires mods to use it's framework to achieve bigger explosions, like the nuke mod I was using does.
What if you turned your 400 rail guns into a drill? Chaining them with like 100ms offset
