This is the kind of stuff I normally do in the background rather than as a true video, but I had a few beers and decided to just to record! Did far too much not to use the footage, but expect lots of this to be changed in the future as usual! Hope you all enjoy! Thank you so much for the current support into this series!! :D
can we get a heckin FTD stream
Lathland feel free to upload all your FtD gameplay, we wont mind, more FtD=more happiness :D
mipacem i hope so, its been about 3 years since the last FtD stream :(
we love it, and drunk lath is awesome too
Lathland I was on twitter when I felt the jingles all through my body! I was assuming it was the funny meme I was reading.. but I guess my subconscious saw the FtD upload before my brain did haha lol anyways! LOVE FtD, subscribed WAY back when and have been praying to everything that it would return and it has! And I have seen EVERY SINGLE FtD episode since! Big huuuge
Scout for the deep water guard: "Sir, we have reports of lathrix in the south-east quadrant."

Scout: "He's drunk."

Lathrix: I can't make ships.

Resistance Council, entry 2:
Well, our fears have been confirmed. The Blood Guard, or specifically Lathrix himself, have been confirmed to still exist - and they’ve got new teeth. We’ve already lost contact with upwards of five scouts in the area, and an aircraft with half a wing crash-landed on one of our runways the other day, claiming of a ship literally fishing it out of the air. From what limited intel we have, it seems he has switched to.. an as of yet unseen weapons combination. EMP missiles, which are apparently capable of one-shotting some of the smaller ships from the Lightning Hoods. So just send ships from the Guard after him, right? Wrong. Apparently, he’s got a new rotating ram system which literally tears even metal ships completely in half.
The Council is unsure what to make of these new developments. Given the area he has run to, and how many portals are in it, we can’t find him. But we can’t let him get offworld either, in fear of him landing an even larger invasion force. We’ve elected to send much more powerful warships to the area, but have already lost contact with a Plunderer, and we fear the worst. The former Onyx Watch operative is already hard at work finding the new vessel, and we’re re-instating Lieutenant Thomas Gibson due to his extensive experience.
The Council awaits.
(After seeing the positive response to the previous log, I figured I might as well get better at writing them. I’ll admit, it’s a bit difficult trying to find diverse ideas for logs in Adventure, but I’ll do my damned best.)
You earned a new subscriber
Maia Leisz Lol, thanks - though I have no plans of ever uploading
I'm still new but there were logs like this back then?
Also I subscribe
Alester W.R Yeah, a fair few. You should go look up the playthrough, the 2018 one - even without looking at the logs, it’s typical Lath quality.
Thank you and I look ahead to seeing these logs
I like how they're adding a little bit of lore and story to this play through. :)
I kind of like the "squinting at the horizon in fear" aspect but thirdperson IS more pretty
I like that part too. Also liked the original spin block set up better as focusing on capturing the enemy is a fun concept. The giant grinder gets in the way of that goal. Something like a spin block scalpel seems more fun, if more difficult to use.
Maybe he should just only use it in a fight and to see where the core is because I have ftd and know how annoying it is. As he already said he shouldn't use it to scout out the enemy but as soon as he knows what it is he can use it
[ISSOBC]General- Jason yea agreed. He should definitely use it to find the ai for capturing the vessels in an easier manner.
300th like lol haha
I can’t believe it one of lathrix’s builds looking evil that has never happened before

I can only imagine the dinner conversations aboard that ship.
"Honey, did you force an enemy plane to kamikaze itself onto our deck? Again?"
"Yes, dear"
"And what about the so called 'heart surgery' with our Spin Rams Of Death? That one of your brilliant ideas as well?"
"Of course, dear..."
Ah, the legendary drunkrix is back!

"the nature friendly ship of death"
TimKH You made me research RTGs because I wanted to see if you were correct. Congratulations you made me learn more than all my teachers combined during quarantine.
@@beckmydog8439 School systems are absolute shit either way.
@@beckmydog8439 I mean there's still the mining and processing of fissile material (238Pu) to build the RTG but that isn't specifically in FTD.
Yeah, nature friendly. Let’s just ignore the jet engines.
@@vladfedonkin4731 what jet engines? I dont see any jet engines!
*we dont talk about the jet engines*
Seeing as you're going to be plowing straight towards your targets, what about lowering your cockpit/bridge and using the trough on the spine of the ship for a large emp particle cannon or railgun? With that in place for disabling other ships, you coul place advanced cannons on the decks to handle flyers or to broadside enemies you don't want to approach with the weed whacker.
I also think it'd be interesting if you used outriggers to stabilize your roll. They'd also make a cool place to mount advanced cannons instead of the side decks (I.e. It'd leave them open for missiles) that could still fire at a target as you approach melee range.
About the rams: You could also make a hydraulic press using pistons. Imagine two walls of spikes coming from each side, that cut through the enemy like butter.
Its a really fast and effective ship killer, I mean you could also go complete cheese by just putting a piston ram on a turret but it will not be as satisfying to watch!
How about from the bottom and the top which slices the boat in 2
@@lolbosss That is kinda difficult because if you apply a force from below the boat might slight off your press. It is better to push from the sides, since boats generally cannot be pushed that easily from the side.
Turret spin block and piston to create a saw that when in range slices the enemy from above
The missiles have enough fuel to go further than they did, you need to either make the missiles live longer or make the variable thruster faster 20:45 in the vid.
pretty sure the cable ran out.
I personally prefer the 1st person view as it could finally bring out an element of the game barelly ever used, remote cameras. It also makes balancing out the armory-ness and visibility of the "bridge" more important than usual.
Ivan0E I agree. It highlights controlling your own ship and having no idea what's going on around you. It's fun to watch him faff about blindly in first person during boarding too. Capturing enemy vessels by dissecting them is really fun to watch. That and the ship building are my favorite aspects of these videos.
Another thing; Lathrix could put displays in his bridge showing exactly where his turrets are aiming, the point of first person in this campaign is to prevent you from scouting away from your ship and from hand controlling weapons from within an armoured pillbox, lathrix is removing the need to overcome an issue and thus could be making the game a bit more boring for himself
@@Porouskilldeathratio I couldnt agree more.
This needs to be seen tbh
>Title includes "with Beer"
I have a feeling I'm about to see something insane, yet oddly effective.
So this is what it's like to see what happens before: "I had a few beers and decided to build _____ and now I have this..."
It ended up pretty small for Drunklix standards.
Fynn Haggenmüller probably ran out of materials (haven’t watched vid yet)
Note: I have yet to finish the video, but I'll probably forget this if I wait.
I would love to see a railgun, or 3 of them, just pure emp. Not sure why, just want to see that :3
I've had mixed results with both pure rail-guns and EMP APS. although one of the guns on my older adventure craft was a pure rail EMP and it did ok against non wooden craft
Are rail guns and particle cannons the same
@@skyeplays1772 no
@@danyael777 OK
@Titan gamer34 😶didn't know that
Well, we usually always see your fights from the fird perspective, it feels much more tense, like, you know, it's actually you, who's on the ship, not some bot, with the use of first person. And that moment when you were dodging mortar rounds in one ofmthe previous eposodes, uhh, nice
Proboina exactly! Trying to keep yourself alive while getting shoot at is way more fun to watch than third person chilled observation. Especially while trying to capture the enemy vessel.
"Like your carving a turkey or performing heart surgery."
Ah yes, very similar operations.
you can carve a turkey with surgical precision, and I guess a heart like a turkey (except only once)
Yes more more more this is literally my favorite series. Also, lathrix took a few drinks? This is gonna be fun.
"With Beer"
Oh this is going to be a good episode
Put the middle spinblock on a piston, so it can extend out to perform a more precise surgery on the enemy
I mean... I guess doing surgery with an angle grinder is still better than doing surgery with a wood chipper.
@@dethkruzer -- "Scalpel. Tweezers. DeWalt." _Bzzzzzzzzzzzz_
I personally like the idea of one horizontal spinblock and active pitch controls so that he can manually change the depth of the cutting action and "surgically" remove the armor around an AI. The huge grinder is cumbersome and not accurate enough for boarding action.
Or as I just suggested, put the spinblock on a two-axis turret and the rams onto a series of pistons attached to the spinblock. Upwards of a million DPS for only a few thousand materials.
turarwanaa ohh! I like that. With the new larger hull what about having one of those on each side so he can grapple the enemy and dock with them side by side then use the turret scalpel on that side to saw into the enemy. Using emp railguns to put em out for, "surgery." ;)
Lathrix's ship is slowly becoming an evil sea roomba
Absolutely LOVING the adventure mode! keep it up Lathrix, now that FTD is back I finally decided to subscribe. :)
EDIT: God, that is one hell of a ramming craft you made there! Clearly the work of Drunkrix.
I love how the ship goes straight through the waves, it's epic to watch. This design is getting better and better
Yay!! SO MUCH FTD!! ITS AMAZING!

Bustfireslasher ok
Hurrah!
“Carve away gently, like you’re working on a turkey or performing heart surgery” I died 😆
Do you remember how you were amazed by the railgun from the presets? try yourself at one of those.
I like the "wonder who they are" and "oh God the shells are hitting my face"
Name idea for the current ship: "The Reapers Jaw". It stuns you, draws in your soul, and then consumes you.
I just love the idea of using EMP missiles and harpoons to aggressively salvage your enemies, crippling them and then reeling them in to finish them off. It's a *fantastic* concept and I love it!
I really feel like you should try medium/large missiles that carry tons of small missiles, these small missiles can be a mix as well having EMP, Frag, High Explosive and would probably be very powerful in adventure mode
i really like the first person attempt, cause it adds a lot of this adventure mode spirit for me.
Jan Gagelmann trying to survive being shot at during your approach to commence a boarding action has a special appeal in adventure more which isn't seen in the campaign. I think this series should focus solely on capturing the enemy and all its weapons should be for disabling the target or surgery to find the ai. It's why I liked the smaller saws over the giant grinder, more accuracy of course. There was also a comment about using a laser to cut a small hole to get at the ai.
28:42 pearl harbor moment
I like the first-person zoom a lot but I also love watching your ship engage the enemy in cinematic mode. Essentially I would love a mix of both.
What if instead, having the missiles at the back of the craft freeing up some space for cram or advance cannons and use them to take in aircraft and have torpedoes just at the front meaning that it would pull ships directly into the blades of death.
The first person really adds an up close and personal feel to this. Also, I second calling this craft the rip and tear.
Why not armor up the front, harpoon enemies to bring them close then emp the hell out of them to capture?
Some of them have nukes.
Destruction 100
Sorry for all the stress. Your videos are helping me deal with my stress, and it’s nice that your are posting so much. Thanks!
Thank you for uploading although what is happening around you , i hope everything goes well and better for your family. Kiss the toads to calm them down next time
Great name suggestion for this ship... The Surgeon!
Make what are essentially EMP shotguns to kill the AI of whatever you harpoon
Lol, I like to play FTD drunk/tipsy/buzzed too! Actually, usually I get too caught up in overthinking shape and aesthetics of designs, but I also *LOVE* the ramshackle conglomeration of scrapped vessels aesthetic, so you've inspired me to really get into it by playing adventure mode and cobbling together like everything that I can lol.
Name the Ship “The Ironclad” because of the metal armor and it just looks like a historical Ironclad class ship.
Wait did historical ironclad ships have spinning death blades? Well the ship's called derp at the moment, so I guess.
The "Iron-Chad"
Ozomän they didnt, however they were also very good at ramming because they were full metal and other ships were pure wood.
Thanks for making videos even with all the stress! Love them!
I never clicked that fast on a video...

I don't know why this got recommended to me, but I'm really happy that it was- brings back so much nostalgia.
Im against third person, its one of my favourite restrictions that makes adventure mode footage feel different. You also could try mounting a remote camera to a turret, it lets you see without ever leaving the craft
Yeah, I def agree. First person FTD just looks so much more unique.
FF177 we rarely get to see him controlling one ship in the campaign so having that first person view of it during adventure mode is really special and rather refreshing to see.
For the missiles make sure you balance the fuel use and how long the missile lives for, currently often your missiles still have fuel when they despawn. Also, love the series and am excited for more!
Lathrix, i haven't finished the video, however: Cluster EMP Missles. How about that
YESSSSSSSS!
Clusters take a crap ton of ammo (if I'm correct)
This ship is starting to remind me of tanks that have been equipped with mine-clearing gear. It's literally the exact same concept, just a massive chain whip hooked up to the tank's motor.
Also, two videos in one day? You're a beast, Lathrix!
14:11 evil from the top. “remember, we’re the good guys.”
Hey lathrix, even tho it seems pretty hectic in your real life I am very happy about all the video's that you make lately. I love all your builds and creations and they are most definitely not bad in my opinion (at least for looks). I hope things clear up for you and always remember that real life takes priority, so don't feel afraid to slow down your uploads. But keep up the good work!
Up until now we would almost have forgotten that you're with the good guys, the sight of this gigantic spinning maw is somewhat reassuring.
Amazing how this went from ramming skimmer to airship-sub with 4 *dual double barrel 250mm kinetic shell railguns* and *hordes of missiles*
Lathrix just showering in the blood (or blocks) of his enemies. True Legion Style.
Lathrix : uses ramming weapons

Hey Latherix! I’ve loved your videos from as long as I can remember watching UA-cam. However, this new series has drawn me to your channel more than ever before! I often find myself checking to see if you have put out another episode of this! I’m HOOKED!

No judgement of the beer lathrix. Somtimes you just need the ol swig to get you in the building spirits.
One idea I‘ve got is that you could have some sort of „scrapping bay“ behind the mincers, mince a craft, materials get phunneled into the craft for processing
I think that lathrix can you the camera mode when ever he wants, because that campaign is very different from other campaigns so he may as well just play like everyone else doing the adventure mode.
With this ship you've made, the best description I can give it is "the jaws of death consume all"
A code of good practice for building, crosshatch between armour layers. If one is horizontal then make the ones to either side vertical. This means that if the first armour block is destroyed the damage is spread between the ones behind when new shells hit that location. So layer 1 is horizontal, layer 2 is vertical.etc this doesn’t work against explosions but neither does keeping it all in the same orientation.
"Alright it's disabled, let's go capture it"
*rams with giant spinning saw blades of death*
"Aw man, accidentally killed it!"
Really love the build and fight on the fly, its fantastic to watch. One of the few people I would happily sub to if you ever streamed.
I can‘t stress enough how joyful I am that you‘re back in black in FtD.
After all, you were the one to properly expose me to a game that I‘ve sunken, like, 700+ hours into
I am truly addicted to these video's. Always so happy to see another! Keep up the amazing work!
Do not force yourself though.
If you want a fun idea, take a look at the Last Rite from the Flayers. It has 2-axis turrets fitted with pistons that are mounted with spin block rams. Would be a good solution to flyers.
One of my personal favorite weapon types is an armor piercing particle cannon. You can punch out a ship's AI from 2000 meters away easily, regardless of armor. I think it has an EMP option instead of armor piercing as well that could be useful.
Being in the point of view of those spinning blades of death must be terrifying
At one point in the video, the ram looked like it was painted entirely in blood red and I have to say, it looked pretty fitting.
I truly enjoy this content.
And your fortifications, as well as siege weaponry, have proven to be impressive.
But do not burn yourself out.
Love the video lathrax! Adventure mode got to be my favourite , hope everything is good with you
Thanks for the video. Glad they've been coming out so frequently. Keep em coming!
I absolutely love watching this series. Thanks for returning to FTD!
3rd person camera is neat, but 1st person is more fititng for the gamemode, and it adds a whole new level of perspective to the videos, in my opinion.
It's cool to see the crafts up close and personal.
You could make a room with Screens and add Cameras around the Ship, then you can show the Cameras on the Screen so you have a virtual HoloDeck downstairs :D
Lathrix worries about ships mortars ,
Also lathrix did not realize he had take out all the ammo and the mortars were firing blanks when expressing his concern
Lathrix has made a floating combine harvester...
Of Death!
This is way more enjoyable and relaxing than it has any right to be.
When i saw the title, all i saw was upgrading and destroying, i was good with the episode. Then... Came the beer. I actually love you and your drunken tendencies Lath. I truly do.
Literally as I came to check if there was a new video. Couldn't be more perfect.
I've noticed two issues when you were fighting that small laser boat
1. More fins on your missiles will help them stop overshooting your targets.
2. Your Simple Weapons can actually aim down a bit and are good for disabling small watercraft too.
I recommend building a rangefinder for your harpoons. Have a control block turn a light to red with the enemy is within X meters. (Where X is the length of the harpoon cable). This way you won't waste shots on enemies that are too far out.
I won't lie when I say I REALLY love how the ship is looking right now. I hope it retained this kind of design when u changed it. Dunno why, but I just love how patched it is. A small suggestion; try to keep the original starter ship visible within the build. I just loved how you literally built a massive hull around the starter thing, and it'd be awesome to see this massive behemoth, but when you look close you can see this tiny little ship with much larger ships bolted around it.
25:28 "Very gently, let's just carve away a little bit like you're carving a turkey or performing heart surgery..." with a chainsword.
WEAPON IDEA FOR CAPTURING:
Add harpoons on the front and back on one side of the craft so you can get on easier and not kill it instantly. Youll be closer to the heartstone doing this
Optional:
Have grinders be able to come out of the side in case its too dangerous to stay on it
Aka: ship being too damaged or it has nukes or more enemies coming
I see the things you make in this game, and then I look at the things I try to make and think to myself "He's drunk and yet he's still loads better at this than I am."
Anybody else wanna see a playthrough where lath just captures everything
I love how this is just basically hardcore Minecraft
The craft looks like a really big steamroller!
What do you call a howling rocket?
A weeeeeepon!

28:37 my brain: that was very unsanitary you lovely man
A section of long-range torpedo harpoons mounted underneath the front bow would guide enemy ships directly into the saws - just sayin
