Oil vs ghee - Which is better and how much to take? | Dr Pal

  • Plant seed oils are getting too much hate and ghee is getting popular. Which is better? Are we focusing on the wrong things?
Both oil and ghee have the same amount of calories. 1 tablespoon which is 15 ml containing 120 calories.
If you have belly fat, you have too many calories than what is required by your body. Logically, this needs to calm down. Hence, if you can limit to 500 ML per month which will come down to 1 to 2 tablespoons per day, you will start noticing results soon.

Omega6 is inflammatory, no doubts about that, But Saturated fats(ghee, butter, coconut oil) are blamed to be the enemies of heart for quite long time and the recent studies have ruled that out. Having said that, anything in concentrated form should be taken in moderation as doctor pal said, that applies to even healthy fats like ghee, butter, coconut oil, to avoid harmonal imbalance or running out of enzymes, in this case bile juice.

Sadly it’s actually expensive to find healthy healthy foods in USA. The cows, chickens and pigs are fed nothing but grains/omegas so that means you need wild grown or grass fed meat if you want to avoid health problems in the USA. Plus they inject so much hormones on the un organic products. It’s actually crazy how fast Americans are dying without any wealth knowledge and it’s always free on UA-cam

500mL per month?? It takes me months to go through a 500mL bottle of olive oil! I thought a light drizzle to coat roasted vegetables or a turn of the pan to stir fry was a lot. I guess not. I try to get my Omega 3 from ground flax and fish oil capsules. Good to know it’s in olive oil, too. I’m from the USA, European heritage. We bake, boil, roast, or pan fry (not deep fry) most things. Thank you, doctor!
My doctor growing up was from Gujarat. As a child who went through a chubby phase, he didn’t do any of the crazy stuff AAP suggests now like diet pills for kids or gastric bypass for teenagers. He just said “Don’t count calories or stress out. Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Avoid snacking. Go out to play. Get sunshine.” Sensible Indian medicine is what the world needs!
Anyway, I like the concept of 16:8 to help hormones, but I go to the gym in the morning and need to be able to eat my protein. So I’m doing a calorie deficit and trying a 12 hour fast at night. If you have advice on intermittent fasting and exercise, let me know. Must I really exercise in the afternoon if that’s when my eating window is? Thank you! 🙏🏻

Use groundnut powder, sesame seeds powder, coconut powder instead of using oils.Prepare powders at your home.

The problem I see with vegetable /seed oils is not so so much linoleic acid (which is ok as long as the ratio with omega 3 is kept balanced) but because of the processes used to extract the oil are with high temperatures and often chemicals.

i may also add up that refined oil must not be used as they r being treated at extra high temperatures...cold pressed oils in limited quantity should be the better choice..
