You have to love the humility it takes for someone this smart and educated to say that he had doubted something, researched it, and changed his mind.
Which proves how bright he truly is 😊
I thought the same the minute he said that!! 😂😂 I’ll stick to Mother Earth’s remedies, thank you very much. 🙏❤️🙏
Really admire & respect Dr William Li.. always enjoy his knowledge and opinion! ♥️💯
It shows the real scientist IMO. He is always questioning everything, especially "The settled science" ;-)
You’re so right. It’s a sign of intelligence.
Acetic acid seems to be a great lever to pull for fat loss!
Down 100 lbs since 2023 following Thomas Delauer and drinking ACV!
Thanks for a great video!
Should add: 51 years old, 350 to 250 lbs, and Psoriatic Arthritis symptoms all but gone!
When and how do you take yours? When did Thomas put out the video, I appreciated what he stated along with Dr. Li and Dr. Berg. When do you take yours AM & PM?
btw congrats on losing the weight!
With just ACV? And exercise?😮
@@JKThom-59 That's what he said along with alot if people
@@JKThom-59
I sipped on an ACV mix during the day and I tryed to get more in the evening. At first that was all I did! That went on for a few months and I realized my arthritis symptoms were less. Then I started walking and changed my diet to more of a mediteranean keto. I added resistance training with bands and I increased my steps to around 10 to 15,000 a day on average! I'd love to loose another 30lbs but at this point, it is what it is and I am happy with it!
You want the "Mother" in your Apple Cider Vinegar because its the Mother that provides your microbiome (gut) with the food for your beneficial bacteria which is super important
Wonder why he said better to not have it in there then.
Nope. The mother is leftover pulp and peel. It’s just there to prove that the vinegar is unfiltered. It has no nutritional value itself. You can toss it.
@@suzanneemerson2625 The mother is bacteria which is beneficial to the microbiome
With the Mother is good bacteria created during the fermentation process. Without the Mother they just filter the good bacteria out.@@suzanneemerson2625
I have ALWAYS heard that you want to get apple cider vinegar “with the mother in it”, that it has more benefits
I drink 1 tbsp. with the juice of 1 lemon in a glass of water every morning. It’s great for digestion and weight.
Yes, but be very careful because it’s also really bad for your teeth, it strips the enamel off quickly. My gf use to prepare her bottled water for work (hot factory job) daily with lemon. She did it through the whole summer, by Christmas her teeth were turning black.
Drink it through a straw.
I use it with a pinch of baking soda for good pH balance.

If you buy apple cider vinegar with the “mother,” and shake it up before using it each time, it is a prebiotic and good for your gut. More benefits than just the plain apple cider vinegar.
Hi, have you also seen the video from Dr. Berg also explaining this?
Probably but I’m losing track of all I’ve watched. But I make sour kraut and vinegars so I was familiar with it.
Indeed. Also, you can buy Organic Apple Juice and use a bit of the vinegar with the mother and make your own vinegar from it forever using that Mother.
@@oregongreatgrandma7759 if you check out what he said vs now with what Dr. Gundry and Thomas Delaeur said …. I am now mixeing red with acv and shaking the bottles so I get all of it. I know it’s hard to figure out, but on e you check out what they all say and have been experiencing then you can figure out how to take this. Let me know how you’re using this.
OK, but I think there may be better prebiotics (I am thinking kefir). If your gut microbiota is too rich in vinegar mother biota you may be getting too much acetic acid in your system? I am not sure having very high levels of acetic acid is beneficial.
BTW, so-called "balsamic vinegar is generally just vinegar with sugar and flavouring added. The genuine Balsamic vinegar is aged wine vinegar, aged for up to 100 years for top quality, it's a product of Modena, Italy. The age determines its cost, but even 10 years old is very costly...so go for apple vinegar, is my advice. I was once invited to a Balsamic vinegar tasting, yes, in Modena, they gave us a thimble-full at a time ;-) Viva Italia.

Dr. Li is the best. I have both of his books; they are real treasure troves!.

Hungarian chick of 77 🙂from Austria
Well, as somebody who has tried and continues to take people who take a spoonful of apple cider vinegar directly are gonna hurt that esophagus it doesn’t work that way you’ve got a glass of water and add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar stored icy. I also put a few cubes of ice. It becomes a delicious drink, do not make it too concentrated because it can actually hurt you
It will also destroy your teeth! so yes just a little dilute in water a couple of times a day or 30 minutes before a meal.
A teaspoon is enough as can upset the gut.
THANK YOU for that tip!!! ♡
I was diagnosed with a(nonalcoholic) fatty liver after a blood test . I had heard about ACV and here’s my creation… After being on it for a 3 months, my numbers were back to normal with my liver👏
Ice in a glass with low sodium V-8 juice (I had to watch my salt intake)
Two shots of Braggs ACV
Use a straw to protect your teeth… Garnish with a celery stick etc.
You’re basically having a bloody Mary or Caesar(if you’re Canadian like me) except without the vodka or Clamato😢GL i’m going to get on the regime again to go for a weight loss🤞🏼🤞🏼
I love V8 but the sugar in it is a problem, having fatty liver also. Even with the numbers going back down there is damage to the Liver that if you want to reverse sugar should be avoided at all costs. You'd do well to make it yourself and leave the fiber in too.
It's great with V8 low sodium as well. Makes sense with the low sodium because it's hard to get away from all of it within our food base . I use organic vinegar (Braggs) just to make sure it's pure.
Great idea! I'm going to try this.
@@ThomasCary-m1h No offense but V8 is way not organic, so not much point using organic vinegar in it. You can go organic and geet your own veggies and roast or steam them, and blend them in a plain old blender -just sayin'

My favorite way to drink ACV is 'Sweet and Sour' lemonade: water, lemon (or lime) juice, ACV and stevia. I normally drink 4 or 5 glasses per day.

@@Melissa-pb6wv I've been doing this for years. I don't recall the immediate results when I started. I don't have any stomach issues (main reason I started it) and have kept with it since I like the taste.

@@ritalafleur4417 I normally make a gallon at a time with: 2c lemon juice, 2c ACV, 2c sweetner and the rest water. It's strong so you might want to dilute it. I also mix it with tea.

I knew an old man who eat fresh god and chips everyday, he lived into his 90's and he always put plenty of vinegar on his chips. I reckon it broke down the bad fats in the unhealthy chips. well they use vinegar in English fish and chip shops to clean greasy counters.

In the U.S. the fish shops offer malt vinegar.
Dipping my toes into the carnivore lifestyle. The purists say no fruit, no veggies. Just meat. But i've really been enjoying my salads. Bragging sold their company, look for another organic brand.
@@ronaldzack4078that happens to some people. They should consider using goat milk instead.
I suggest not to use Braggs….they are using GMO apples to make their vinegar. Find another organic brand
Fairchilds is the best quality, I had to buy online. I like when they use all organic and not pasteurized.
I love my organic apple cider vinegar. I have 2 tablespoons a day (separately) with a bit of organic honey (I put it in the glass first with a cm of boiling water to melt it) and fill the glass with water. Sometimes I squeeze in a little bit of lemon 🍋
First thing in the morning. Second glass before or after dinner.
ACV increases the acidity of the stomach which is good since food will be better digested and nutrients better absorbed. Also good because the high acidity will trigger the esophageal sphincter to close and prevents reflux. We should strive for a more acid gut which is more natural for humans, and avoid antacids and ph changing waters.
Make sure to mix ACV in a glass of water and dink through a straw. ACV balances sugar levels.
I don’t know why, but I never thought of mixing the apple cider vinegar with tomato juice. I could always drink it with water in the morning, but unless I used it on a salad or added it to a green smoothie, I never got more than one dose a day. It’s yummy in tomato juice!
I drink it in hot water with lemon, turmeric, cayenne, ginger. It’s a great start to the day. Helps you last if your IF. Just make sure it has “mother” in the ACV. I’ve only being doing it a month and has reduced my belly fat by half.
Other vinegar = pickle juice … or make a virgin Bloody Mary … with pickle juice and / or ACV

A lot of responses to this video. I had my gallbladder removed and have issues. I am on a strict fat budget. I like Dr. Li-s' recommendation of 2-3 tablespoons of a good extra virgin olive per day. I can disperse this by replacing my butter to cook an egg, drizzle on a roast chicken or make a salad dressing with EVOO and apple cider vinegar, dijon mustard. I could even just have that dressing on a sliced tomato with fresh basil or smash a sardine into the dressing and spread it on toasted sour dough bread. Drinking it does not appeal to me and I don't mind the tangy taste. I am glad that Dr. Li likes to cook, because I am a foodie. Very helpful!

Are the apple cider capsules as effective if one despises the taste of the vinegar? Also, is there any similarities between the apple cider and vinegar to achieve weight loss?
Did all 3 groups follow the same diet, caloric intake, exercise routine?
This is exactly what I was wondering. Unless all 3 groups followed the same diet and activity levels, how do you know if weight loss had anything to do with ACV? I wish Dr Li would have included this information.
I've heard that Braggs dilutes their vinegar with water.
Dr Berg recommends Fairchild brand ACV.

Thanks Dr. Li you are brilliant and so handsome. Thank you.
I appreciate you, Dr Li, but for a study like that to actually prove the hypothesis they would have to continue the study for a year and change what each group drinks while using the same subjects.
Bragg vinegar with the mother is no longer a quality product. This family-owed business was bought out by corporate America and the quality has deteriorated, based on their trying to make the most money for the least quality.
It's very sad they sold out. I switched to Fairchild's which is still family farm owned, available on Amazon.
I agree, and it's hard to find it with mother. All it has is a layer of soot on the bottom that's nothing like mother. Kombucha too no longer comes with mother. And it doesn't even have any soot in their bottles.
I still doubt it. I drink 1 TBSP every day (mixed with a little lemon juice in 12oz of water) plus put it on my salads but I still doubt how significant of a difference it makes....for anything. Oh and stop with the 'drink it through a straw to protect your teeth crap.' Completely unnecessary. All you have to do is rinse really well with plain water afterwards. Reason I know is that I ask my dentist every 6 months and he says my teeth always look fine with ZERO evidence of damage from me drinking ACV.
It irritates my stomach EVERY TIME 😢
So is he trying to say the "mother" is not crucial in this whole process? That's usually why you specifically want apple cider vinegar, for a particular purpose.
What do I do if I want to improve any visceral fat I may not see, but do not want to loose weight because I'm already underweight after surgery?
What is better with water or just a tablespoon and swallow
I really want to try apple cider vinegar but i really cant stand the smell and taste....it actually makes me gag! Is there any easy way of taking it😊
On that logic any vinegar would work.
Will pills with the mother work?
Why does ACV deplete your electrolytes sometimes, It happened to me year's ago and maybe I was taking too much ? And also black licorice did the same, I still eat licorice every once in a great while and have apple cider vinegar on salads but take electrolyte supplements every day, The first time it depleted my electrolytes was when I got out of the golf cart to make a shot and my heart started beating hard for no reason, It did this for about 10 seconds and went back to normal, Seen a doctor that week and had all the heart tests and showed normal, This happened a few times over the years but the episodes lasted a minute or two and this was before taking the magnesium, potassium, calcium supplements, I found online that too much ACV, black licorice and a few other things that can deplete your electrolyte levels but didn't explain why...🤔
Are you saying 3 tablespoons ACV twice a day for high dose? So 6 tablespoons a day, 1/2 in the morning 1/2 later. I’ve been just taking a swig out of the bottle when I think about it. I’ll start tracking it now.
What about the other acids? Citric? Ascorbic? Balsamic is loaed with carbs
There are 2.7 grams of carbs for 1 tablespoon.
I tried it really upset my GI tract. Ugh.
I have chronic gastritis, can I take it?
