Elden Ring Main Bosses Ranked From Worst to Best (Before Shadow of the Erdtree)

- Elden Ring has 15 main bosses, and due to the existence of mini bosses and field bosses, the main bosses in Elden Ring are a cut above the other games. That being said, with Shadow of the Erdtree around the corner, which of these bosses set a standard for the DLC to reach, and which set an example of what they shouldn't do? 22:16 there’s a stake of marika next to mohgs arena I thought because I remember starting at the fog gate every time I died
As I said, I don't count Stakes of Marika because there is the chance you might leave to level something up and come back, and you can't warp to Stakes of Marikas. So I base the runback from the Site of Grace, which includes the elevator ride you have to endure every attempt. Also, I 1st tried Mohg with a summon, so I never noticed it lol
When you were discussing how you got went from Malenia to Godfrey i had to take a second and say "wait thats exactly what i did...." Literally 1 to 1 . Also great video tho i personally thought Radahn was a little better than you eanked him while i agree the dive bomb is a little much at times the fight is overall very well paced and the idea of finally putting down the warrior who got lost in his bloodlust is just a nice narritive. I was also very disappointed by Astel but only by the fact that its weapons from the soul are lame as hell
I think if each attempt didn't require me to use torrent for 30 seconds just to get to Radahn while dodging his attacks, my memory of him would be better. For Astel, yeah the weapons you get from him are lame AF, and the design feels like someone just put a bunch of random stuff from other entities together and said "fuck it" lol
Gotta admit i do love the mohg fight. My favourite is probably placiddudesex. The spectacle is awesome and its a great fight.
As for soundtracks, Godskins would be my top pick. Its just epic.
Godskins is definitely a soundtrack that has grown on me since my first playthrough, but I think it is kinda wasted by having it be tied to the Godskin fights. Imagine if someone like Maliketh had it instead, it'd be quite fitting for him and also a lot more memorable than his current OST... I genuinely can't remember what it sounds like 🤣
@chriscastaway this is true but that just means I get to hear it at least twice in one playthrough. 4 times if I decide to do the 2 solo apostles.
I don't remember malikeths ost at all. Maybe because his health pool is teeny and he dies too quickly.
22:20 i disagree with that being a point against him, he's supposed to be a villain, disgusting lore is a part of what makes you able to hate him and encourages you to defeat him
That's definitely a fair point. That part is completely subjective, because I found out that my personal preference for lore tends to be complete badasses/final tests that encapsulate the story of the whole game. I guess my point there is less that the disgusting lore takes away from the boss, and more that the disgusting lore makes me feel weird for enjoying the fight, if that makes sense
@@chriscastaway well look at it this way you're enjoying fighting and defeating a complete scumbag evil guy which is totally understandable, it's not any different from enjoying the death or defeat of a villain you hate in a movie/tv show
My main criticism of the Mohg fight is the "get off me" move where he summons bloodflame to rain down above him, which means melee has to disengage. Then again, my favourite fight is Morgott somehow, who has one single "get off me" move at around half health but it has narrative weight. If you didn't fight Margit 1-2 times beforehand I think Morgott would be held in far higher regard.
I definitely agree with you on that, but I think owing to Mohg's entire deal, he can get away with it as opposed to someone like Malenia for example. I think the 2nd fight with Margit is what makes Morgott's fight held in lower regard, because you can have the 2nd Margit fight less than an hour before the Morgott fight on a casual playthrough. Even then, I can definitely see why Morgott's is people's favourite in the game
