"Prepare to be Messmer-ized"
- Messmer The Impaler, probably
"It's Messmerin' time" - leaked dialogue from the DLC final boss fight
“Get ready to be dingered”- Ging Dinger The Flinglebop
Ok but isn't it weird that his name means "to hyponotize" when it's Miquella who is meant to be the best at "charming" people?
@@titaniumteddybearhe does have snakes around him, maybe he charms the same way a snake charmer hypnotizes a snake

I hope so much that we get a flame of frenzy dragon
I would also love some sort of blood dragon, bloodflame probably.
Black flame dragon would be awesome
He terrified if we did, the lighting dragon was tough as a melee fighter with massive weapon because I had to get close whilst dealing with lightning ⚡️ 😂
I didn't even realize that was a thing I wanted to see until right now.
Thank you friend.
Maybe frenzy flame is Mesmer trying to come back from the shadow world
It’s mad how I’ve gone from “kill monsters, beat game” to “what interpretation should I draw from the placement of this particular rock and what clues can I gather from it” since the DLC trailer. I’ve been telescoping everything. I dragged the camera through Rennala’s head just to see what colour her eyeballs were. It’s deranged.
lmfao. i sense a brilliant movie that needs to be made
So? What color were they?
@@trippyzero8612 the eyeball bit was regular white. Not like the player character when they become a bloody finger or yellow when they inherit the frenzied flame. But her iris looked to me to be grey which I don’t think offers any clues. The decent thing is that she’s the only shardbearer you fight that remains alive and gives you the opportunity to really look at her character model. I thought it was interesting that the tip of her crown resembles a snake’s head with two red glintstones on either side of the gilded bit and she also has entwined snake motifs on both drapes of her robe. Which may not be relevant but given the DLC trailer certainly makes it noteworthy.
@@alanthe2 Thanks for letting me know! :D
Gray is about what I figured. Unironically I want to know if her eyes are using the "clouding" layer. In Zullie the Witches video on eyes it's shown that some characters do use this. The gray eyes may indicate lost grace. Dis-graced, ha! I wanna know if she has green eyes originally or not, that's what I'm actually looking out for.
I think the snakes sigil does have wings. The two feathery designs where the snakes meet in the middle could be stylized wings.
I thought so too
That was my thought too
Flying snake battle confirmed. Hopefully we can use the Sword spear again with the Ash. Rhykard fight was so good.
I was thinking the same thing and also the symbol at the bottom looks like the shed skin of the great serpent Eiglay we find in Volcano Manor
Same.. It definitely could just be design but when he said it didn’t have wings that was the first thing I noticed.. Also the symbol below that resembles Melania’s (and also the Cleanrot Knight’s) helmet!
I mean, it IS called SHADOW of the Erdtree. Maybe the Realm or the Sun was obscured by the Erdtree, casting a Shadow. Thus creating the shadow realm.
Yea but the erd tree gives off light it's self so I think it's tied to that.
Also They show the moon in the new trailer and it looks like rannis rune is still on it even in the shadow lands. Wonder what that means? Does space stay the same in all the lands? Is that why ranni did what she did?
looks more like marikas veil on the land of shadow is also kinda blocking out the sunlight
I don't think so Jimbo, I'll try to explain my reasoning later, I'm at work.
( From what we understand the land of shadows could be in between or something somewhat related to what you said but we also KNOW that that's where Marika first set foot in the lands between, and possibly where she became a Empyrean or a god, it's also heavily implied or confirmed that she is the one hiding the Land of Shadows to cover what she did, Obviously hiding Messmer entire existence since we didn't know anything about him before the DLC announcement.
Thing is, castle on the shield looks nothing like the one in the trailer, not even from a different angle (windows, dented top, etc..).
It's reaching, at best
Miquella going to the realm of shadow, is similar to Kelé traveling to the catacombs to find out his roots.
But what is the lore implication. Like that is miquella looking to ascend to god-hood? Or is it gonna bring us new quest options to save Milenia?
@@CallMeZorbin Probably the former, similar to Ranni.
Imo it is also extremely similar to Griffith in Berserk. All his followers loved and were super loyal to him. Then he undergoes a cocoon like transformation in an attempt to reach for god hood. I also think there is big similarities in overall character design from what little we’ve seen/heard of Miquella. I wouldn’t be surprised if his new form is Messemer or something akin.
My theory behind messmer's snakes are that, similar to godfrey and godrick, they are grafted to him.
However, for a different reason. Noting the wings on the snake's body, his dragon communion eyes, and his overall odd body shape, i believe hes using the snakes essentially as proxies to halt the transformative effects of dragon communion.
That would explain the wings on the snakes and his eyes: through grafting, hes managed to go further into dragon communion than any other without becoming a magma wurm.
OK now I'm imagining messmer's third phase where you cut off the snake and he unwillingly transforms into a magma wyrm monstrosity that makes the other ones look like child's play
@@thekween9037 thats the exact same thoughts i was having!
Wrym, but I agree 100% it sounds like a good theory.
I thought the transformation was the entire point of dragon communion; you're trying to become a dragon. It's just that most people, or even everyone who attempts it, fail and ends up as a magma wyrm instead. Though even then perhaps the wyrm is merely an intermediate stage, and those who continue the practice can transform into something else.
Have we seen a demigod that practice dragon communion yet? It's entirely possible that it manifests differently for a demigod. The snakes could be part of the transformation.

im not taking my pills!
lions and crucibles! godfrey! he likes lions, he controlled the crucible knights during his reign! there is a connection, i can feel it in my bones!!
The lion dancer fight is probably a tradition made to honor Serosh, who was the Lord of beasts.
Hope we get a lion head mask
That would make a LOT of sense if it was why he was exiled. Marika would have DEFINITELY been offended by Godfrey, her champion, turning to the older powers.
I really like the Sunless Realm Sheild theory. I always wished that the skeletons who wield those shields would also drop their armor. I remember being kinda bummed out that I couldn’t use their cool looking helmet and red cape. Perhaps these skeletons are what remains of Messmers soldiers seeing that they both use that striking red in their armor.
Don't forget there cool ass sword
@@cantremember6794 Thats very true, they do have cool rusty straight swords. Also I meant to type Sun Realm instead of Sunless Realm lol, looks like i had Dark Souls 3 on the mind
Check out the big statues in the Mausoleum grounds in Liurnia, and also pay close attention where you find Miquella’s lilies in game, they often appear right in front of lore objects or to signify that the faction in the area we are in has a significant level of faith in Miquella and the Haligtree.
The snake does have wings, the two sigils on the side of the emblem look like they are meant to represent stylized wings, like the airforce wings.
One thing to note about the shield being dropped from TWLID is that they have been dead for YEARS. Before the erdtree was even a thing. Their weapons are all old and rusted and even the bandit curved sword alludes to them being old. They died back when the Ghostflame was still a thing practiced in the Lands Between so it"s very possible that they were around during the time the "land of shadow" still existed in the Lands Between and wasn't hidden.
My only counter argument to that would be that Deathroot itself appears to be the cursed Erdtree roots rising out of the ground. It eludes to TWLID being those given “Erdtree Burial” resurrecting from those cursed roots. Not really a ton of textual evidence for this tho
@@Ziostorm but why would bandits get Erdtree Burial?
@@NecroBanana It's likely that the older dead who were buried prior to Deathroot are being resurrected long after they died. Think of the Erdtree like the heart, with all its roots being veins and arteries and deathroot as a poison- it now spreads everywhere easily, using all those roots.
I think the reason banished knights are in Farum Azula is because Godfrey invaded it, much like he did the Mountaintops for Marika.
Both banished knights and crucible knights used to be part of his army, and we see two of his 16 crucible knights in Farum Azula as well. One of the crucible knights is even still fighting the beastmen, so they're not friendly. Stormhawks were also part of his army, and there's plenty of them there.
Marika must have conquered Farum Azula at some point, if she stationed Maliketh and a tree sentinel there. And it would make sense that she'd see the ancient dragons as a threat, given that their scales (the ancient dragon smithing stones) can forge weapons capable of killing gods. We also don't know why the ancient dragons would have attacked Leyndell, but it could have been in retaliation for Marika and Godfrey destroying their city.
Finally, the Ruins Greatsword is a legendary armament, despite just being a broken piece of Farum Azula. I think that's because it was made legendary in commemoration of the meteor originally hitting Farum Azula (probably mid-invasion), causing it to float and basically be destroyed. Most legendary armaments aren't granted that title due to strength, but rather a special event that they represent.
The Alternate Messmer Sigil is maybe a reference to the Thulsa Doom Snake Cult Symbol from the movie Conan, the Barbarian (1982).
Wouldn’t surprise me if it was because GRRM loves Conan and does little Easter eggs like that
TWO SNAYKES! ZoS
By Crom, I was thinking the exact same thing

I had a thought when you were talking about that building that looks like it's catching sap in the Sun Realm section; it looks like it would be shaped and potentially positioned perfectly to look like the Sun is resting on, or coming out of, it, at least when viewed from the right angle and distance. If that's intentional then it would explain why this place was known as the "Seat" of the Sun.
If you look at the back of the crucible knight armor set, it also has the two snakes embroidered on the cloth part.
Also if you pay attention to the flame in Mesmer's hand it starts out as black, then it goes to red, and finally has a golden glow within the center of the flame, similar to how the crucible knights armor is mentioned as being gold with a reddish tint, almost as if Mesmer has his own type of special flame, like a crucible flame.
His flame seems as if it is fueled and burning at around the golden energy that other Demigods of the golden order, mainly Marika, Radagon, Godwyn, Morgot and Miquella are known to wield
So, a bit wild, but the silhouette of Messmer looks similar to a cleanrot knight. Cleanrot knights can be found in the Halig Tree where we find Milenia, Blade of Miquella. Milenia fought Radahn, who then went crazy and found cleanrot knight corpses apart of his diet. Radahn's helmet is that of a lion!
Unrelated from that chain (maybe?), lions can also be a symbol for the sun.
Honestly though, throw a rock, there's lion references almost everywhere in the base game and it's interesting to see the dlc has lion imagery too...
the symbol of the twin snakes has wings. They are the wispy things on either side of the symbol. In fact, it reminds me of the ouroboros tattoo on the homunculus in the show Fullmetal Alchemist. The wings are not attached to the serpent. But they are represented by wing like depictions slightly detached and above the ouroboros serpent. Granted these ones don’t look much like wings but I believe that's what they are meant to represent.
Worth noting Castle Sol, as well. The ghost in the Church of the Eclipse says "Frigid sun of Sol, surrender yourself to the eclipse. Grant life to the soulless bones"
The one near the medallion says "The sun has not been swallowed. Your comrade remains soulless". The "comrade" likely being Godwyn
I also noticed that Lion chimera thing seemed to spit Death fog. I think this DLC may have more to so with Godwyn than Miquella
To me, the first sigil shown with the other symbol at the bottom is a visual metaphor for Marika and Radagon as the the two intertwining snakes and what's below them is strikingly similar to what a uterus looks like 🤔 it may have insight to the nature of their being
It really does like a Uterus! But also looks like a representation of the Crucible. Wings on the right, horns on the left, Tail on the bottom. Which would be fitting considering the Crucible is touted as the birthplace of life in The Lands Between. The general shape is also reminiscent of Marika's rune.
I love the uterus idea, it really quite looks like one. Though I don't know about connecting the double snakes to Marika/Radagon, as snakes are really not at all related to the two
@@lordptk4115idk you never know. I only say that because snakes are considered blasphemous by the golden order so maybe the truth was hidden in the shadow. After all, the golden order is just a veil covering the lands between. The definition of the word gilded comes to mind. I think Marika has more skeletons in the closet than we've considered.
One thing i have seen nobody mention pertaining to the Lion-dance boss is a potential connection to Godwyn. The lightning spear, the death-blighted breath (even what turned out to be Omen/Crucible horns looked like death-blight spikes on the first viewing), and even it's vacant, creepy stare is reminiscent of the Prince of Death. Lion iconography is generally associated with Godfrey's Golden lineage, so is it outside the realm of possibility Godfrey's son and Miquella's beloved half-brother could be important to some denizens of the land of Shadow?
Already got my pre order in. Can’t friggin wait!
Me as well, this’ll be the first souls dlc I’m tackling with friends and can’t wait
Been playing again just to get back in the swing of it. Gotta prepare
Friggin
Do you get to play it earlier? Do you get a discount? Are there limited amount of copies?
Just curious as to why you preordered and couldn’t wait until the actual release date
My thoughts exactly, why would you pre-order in this day and age? Legit question. 😊
Man I can't wait to have that phenomenal experience of playing through this DLC for the first time just like that epic feeling of playing through Elden Ring the first time. Such an incredible experience.
Watched yet again, more random observations: Messmer's spell when we first see him looks like a fiery/black growing branching sapling tree in his hand. It looks like a dark version of Melina's Erdtree spell as it is 'growing'. It is more clear as a branching pattern rather than thorns when adjusting contrast in image editing. In the top left corner of the screen in the Wicker Man scene, the tree there left has a branching pattern very similar to the spell. Behind Messmer appears to be his throne and behind that a Marika statue. The rider on the downtrodden Leonard-type horse in the swamp has missing feet, just as Radahn did. Ranni's moon seems to be prevalent, with clear shots of its 'rune'. There is imagery of augers as a decorative theme in the scene with the throwing daggers - some sort of pot-stand sculptures with what look like helical blades, and tall thin 'tower' buildings in the background that have similar motifs. Two uses besides lava-siphon that struck me - as digging tools in very tough terrain (like mines), and to dig holes in which to plant saplings. The details packed in this trailer are insane.
A thought about the plot of the dlc, maybe Mesmer is there to prevent us from revealing the sun, and dropping the vail …
I don't know if anyone's been talking about this, but have you seen the similarities between the Bewitching Branch and that new pink incantation?
When used on an enemy, the Bewitching Branch item shows bright pink visuals, identical to the color of the new incantation we see here. We also know the item is linked directly to Miquella through its description, which reveals that Miquella has the ability to compel affection, or love. Additionally, that new incantation features butterflies, or moths, which are of course also tied heavily to Miquella and Malenia.
I think that new Incantation may be a new type, a "Love" or "Affection" type of incantation that applies some sort of status to those get hit by it. That status could be the same as the bewitching branch, or something similar. Will there be other new ways to apply this status too, like new Ashes of War?
Personally I'm super stoked to start applying Love Grease to my Great Club.
I agree. Seems like Bewitching Branch but covers a larger area or guaranteed coercion within a radius. "Mist of Enfatuation", "Love potion no° 9"? 😂
Seat of the sun makes me think it's a reference to night. The sun sitting down would be its place to rest so to speak, and where does the sun seem to go when it rests? Down. Weird theory ig but seemed pretty cool.
Maybe Messmer was the founder of Dragon communion and was responsible for its expansion across the Landsbetween.
Messmer fucked a dragon and got banished to the shadow realm
1:41 this symbol reminds me a lot of Marika's crucifixion. maybe it was a practice originating in the land of shadow, in a different form than we see in vanilla?
That man on Painting with Hooded woman, probably a Leader or Elder of Numen people since all we know all Watchman was create by Numen. also im Elden ring there is mention about The ancient unnamed Dynasty on city of Noxtela. 🧐 his face also in statue on Moghwyn palace.
The thing under the double snakes... to me anyway... looks like CLIP ON wings 🤣🤣🤣... those little things that go out from the center or whatever... looks like they could RESEMBLE wings
What if Melina has done a reversed travel between the shadow lands, just like Miquella, body left behind in their respective worlds but the soul travels to the other, explaining why Melina gives us Torrent because she met Miquella in the other land. And the Erdtree and shadow tree is in the same place in both worlds and thats why Melina can more around on her own in our world because the space is stacked or resonates with the other
Alright, what's goin' on Zio?
Loving the content, keep it coming!
The first thing I thought of when I saw alternate messmer symbol was: the bottom looks like a cornucopia standing vertical with wings across the top that reminded me of the wings on Melanias helmet. A cornucopia symbolizes abundance.
Good catches with the Elden beast/impaled guy comparison, and the shield/castle.
I would love to see longer videos. I find myself having to listen to videos more than once sometimes
Gloam-eyed Queen was the ruler of the Shadowlands and Marika grew the new suppling in opposition to her rule. That is my assumption
I think the depiction on the shield of the sun realm is the building after Godrick arena, the one where you cannot wield your weapon and has the throne. Looking from the arena you can see it has the big rounded central tower, the two side towers and the door with the triangle top as well.
The Crucible, Time-warped Stones/Placidusax, Destined Death, Trina, Miquella, Mohg, Baldechin/Bedchamber Veil, and Miquella’s journey to revive Godwyn with the Eclipse (but why?).
Which of these questions get answered (“answered”) in the DLC? I’m excited. Maybe all of those roads lead back to Trina….
I think that image below the snakes in the Alternate Messmer Symbol is reminiscent of the strange textures of the crucible talismans
The parts at the side of the sigil that people are calling wings, actually remind me of the Lily iconography that we see all over the main game. It’s even in the designs inside the divine towers.
Dude I got that shield drop the other day and honestly first thought was that's a nod to darksouls
I wonder if the collector's edition sigil is actually an alliance between different factions, there's just so many elements in it (in comparison to others) that I have to at least contemplate a Miquella (braid crown), Messmer (impalement) and third party alliance sigil.
Many of our questions will be answered in the dlc, but I think those answers will only bring further questions. The depth of the lore in this game is insane.
exciting times indeed
Nice video as always, cheers
The mention of "...the Seat of the Sun..." could also be a play on words as well it's more literal meaning as you explained. I believe it may also be a hint at Messmer and his rule in the Land is Shadow with it referring to this castle as the place in which he reigns.
the area with the lion statues is probably the one where you fight the lion dance creature as a major boss, since the trees are looking similar
Hey Huge fan enjoying your videos every time and I have question what do you think to what damage messmer will be weak to?
I'm gonna guess he'll be weak to holy, since he's basically imagery: the antichrist
Holy damage, unlike all the last few bosses in main game.... Maybe nothing
@@samgreen8582 unfortunately for you, he is a child of Marika😂
Nice work as usual 👍
Just a few things that have jumped out at me on my latest play through that seem like they could be connected to the dlc setting. In Jarburg, when talking to Jar Bairn, he quotes his Uncle Alexander, saying, "my home is of the past. And the past, as they say, is a different country." Seems a little too on the nose to me. I also noticed one of the spirit nobles that give flavor texts says something interesting. In the Weeping Peninsula, outside the church of pilgrimage, one of them is talking about the mausoleums, Marika, and the demigods inside and says something to the effect of, "he is your unwanted child" perhaps referencing Messmer
It's strange that Messmer's Sigil as a whole looks like a bull's head, and the only instance that the game depicts bovine were on the tall steles that you find around the ancient ruins underground, the ones where the followers of the Ancestral Spirits hang out specifically.
I just restarted a quality fist weapon build, I can't wait for this dlc, especially the new fist weapon.
To see the veil that hides the shadow land is amazing. Makes u think we could have been looking at the shadow land the whole time
The first trailer for Elden ring was so much different than the time lapse the in which we play i wonder if they’re not hiding something like that tho😅
Maybe messmer started his own snake communion, like dragon communion. They do have same eyes
It's content like this that makes the DLC wait bearable (mostly), I think that sigil under neath the twin snakes on the background image is a stylized flame
The Shield of the Sun could also be a double entendre as it's Messmer's realm. A city crowned by the sun could be a city that was conquered by a son, 'The Seat of the Sun is long faded away' could also be in association to Messmer being basically erased from history
Man I can’t wait. All my different builds are just chillin at mohgs
The sigil underneath the dual serpents look like a twisted tree branch. It looks like a leaf is on the upper right side.
That was the shield for my Banished Haligtree Knight Build.
Love it ! Keep the rambles coming
The symbol under the dual snakes looks like a crucible knot of some variety
1:40 that symbol kinda reminds me of the shape of the womb in the Haligtree Miquella was ripped from. The design has branch-like qualities to it and the shape of the hole is pretty similar after looking up a pic of the womb to remind myself. I could be - and probably am - totally wrong, but thought I'd throw it out there as an idea
I always thought that the small circle in the sky from the first step site of grace and up right from the erdtree
So the other Messmer sigils bottom part looks like some sort of globe shape with aspects of the crucible surrounding it. Top right is a wing, top left is horns and the bottom is a tail. Might just be me imagining things but the more I look at it the more I see it personally lol. Awesome vid man. Also I never spotted the third tree when I was examining the screenshots from the website holy shit.
Maybe, the thing underneath the twin snakes is similar to the wicker man hand, a torch and the snakes represent his fire or something, or even a flower stem and petals but from a side view
is that...Frieren?
Lol I didn't even notice
Mark my words, Messmer will have a dragon form 2nd phase in his boss fight for sure.
Grunbeld reference, ha?
Can’t wait for the dlc, great video!
The thing beneath the snakes makes me think of the crucible
I saw his tweet about the fire ball in the sky and the only thing it could be is another flame of frenzy eye.
Those roots in the deep root depths are the roots of the shadow erd tree. The shadow lands are literally in the shadow of the current erd tree, veiled by Marika. We are not going to a different world, or timeline. Also website mentions we are going to explore new MAPS plural. Were going to be doing a lot underground. The strangling tree is godwins, he's underground and has access to the shadow tree's roots, and is probably squeezing the remaining force out of it for miquella's sapling behind it.
The snakes symbol reminds me of St. Trina's hair, as depicted on the sword.
Going to disagree on Mesmers eye. It isn't representing Dragons or Dragon communion. It's the eye of a serpent.
I might be crazy but im pretty sure both mesmers snakes and the snake sigil both have wings. Its pretty much the same snakes too since the symbol only has one wing on eitger snake, which matches mesmers snake wings being asymetric
I cannot wait to find out more about the Crucible!!!!!
Thinking about how mesmer exist, i think volcano manor is more related to him than we think. There's a church with a snake with wings that we pick up Zorayas Amnion in and the whole place is snake themed. Maybe Eglay was some kind of unit Mesmer sent before Rykard fed himself to it
As has been pointed out by Jack the Mimic, the relief on the wickerman DOES look a lot like a stylized sun.
Perhaps the dragon communion cathedral was originally part of farum azula and fell down to the lands between.
I want to point out that the unique sigil you examined in the opening section of the video is *also* located on the Collectors Edition Box.
If you look to the left of the box, the same symbol is shown. This tells me it’s integral to Messmer, but unlike his *MAIN* sigil, this one represents his “magic school”, if that makes sense. The incantations/spells we’ll be using with this sigil
I hope the chest piece on the knight in the thumbnail is the new veterans armor poise equivalent
The sigil at 1:40 definitely gave me Crucible knot talisman vibes.
Concerning the crucible imagery with lions and the dancer puppet we'll fight:
I'm starting to think that the Beast Lord that Godfrey defeated was Serosh, whose soul he then grafted onto his own in order to become kinglier. Sort of a subversion of the expectation that a human would be more civilized than a beast. Or that the civilization that came before the more "advanced" one of the Golden Order was less developed. In fact, the animalistic Horah Loux needed the Beast Regent Serosh, who helped lead the previous Crucible civilization, to calm his feral behavior.
The comparison of the erdtree with the sun is brilliant and has a lot of meaning if we think that the erdtree cover by a veil is the closest thing to an eclipse, and that Miquella tried to produce one
Did anybody else notice that the closeup of Messmer with the flame in his hand is eerily similar to Gideon Ofnir's staff? The hand and the black line in the flame look similar to the eye in the hand at the top of his staff. Gideon is also very concerned that Miquella is still dreaming, and tries to stop us from becoming Elden Lord saying, "None shall take the throne. Marika has high hopes for us, that we continue to struggle" while Messer ponders on our worthiness as one "...so bereft of light." They seem pretty aligned to me.
Also the blue worms in the DLC trailer look very similar to the stone eyes we see in the base game. I wonder if there is a connection there.
Just wanted to add about the snake sigil that the those flourishes probably are wings. I have no idea what the bottom thing is. Best I can say is that it looks like something woven.
The bottom part of the sigil looks like a horn of plenty/cornucopia. Symbol of Abundance maybe?
I wonder if that image will be Messmers Great Rune
I hope they do more with frenzy and make it were we can use it to some sort of degree of npc
I think the moon present in the weird worm creature shot is kind of interesting too. Not only is the sun, a big piece of imagery but the moon has also been quite a factor. Also, I might be crazy but doesn't torrent. Always have a spirit trail when you're riding on him. I believe I didn't see you spirit trail in the beginning of that trailer
Maybe the prevalence of spirits is actually not normal in the lands between but because of the shattering the land of shadow is bleeding into the lands between
I think that a Tree Spirit is going to climb inside an Erdtree Avatar and pilot it like a freaking mech. It would be thematically appropriate and it would also explain why the Avatars look like something has burst out of them.
Symbol at the bottoms looks like the shed skin of Eiglay
I always wonder after every game what comes after. It just gets bigger and better.
The sigil @ 1:46 looks like the design from Margit/Morgott's light spear from their boss fight. Which looks slightly like Messmer's spear from the trailer.
Morgott's spear is just a spectral version of the treespear and they don't share many similarities aside from both being spears.
Personally I think that sword that guy is pulling from his head, looks like part of the Elden Ring we see on the main screen. Minus what is at the top of the handle which looks like a rune Arch.
The shadowy veil around the tree is actually a total mimic of the one around the Erdtree.
The rays going from the erdtree create a similar veiled look and the rays almost look like they lead to some reddish orange wall similar to the one we pass to enter the Erdtree the hue of this reddish orange wall being similar to the aesthetics of the Shadow lands
I wonder if the shadow lands isn't outside the lands between separated by these veils that divides the physical realm from it
I feel like i read somthing yesterday that Mitazaki stated the dlc area is outside of the lands between. But i may be misremembering
@@letsrock12345 I recall that as well
@sk8legendz man im so stoked to play it.
I actually never beat my first play thru and took a bunch of time off. I just got back on the other day. And i tell ya, im getting my ass kicked. Trying to relearn the game towards some the end bosses is hard 🤣
I think the house in the DeathBlight swamp is Marikas old house. I also think Messmar was sent to find and kill Milqullia and might be his brother/half-brother
About Mesmer's Sigil
It looks almost Identical to Gelmir's Sigil in the Gelmir knight Armour Set.
The Set's description says that it belongs to Rykards' knights. But with Rykard's Title of Praetor, The Manor must've belong to someone else. Hence why these Sigils are very alike
