Really agree with your point that Night's Cavalry goes from really fun and memorable to basic enemy just by sticking so many in the game. Runs like this show how diluted the fun got filling out the corners of the world
I don't know why but this just made me think that a mod where all of the basic enemies have been replaced with little chibi versions of the games bosses and all of the bosses have been replaced by giant mosnter versions of the basic enemies might be kind of funny. Probably wouldn't actually be very interesting for very long though. Just a random thought that popped into my head.
This is a major problem in Open-world games (to be fair Elden Ring is far better than most). I'll take a nice and tight 10 to 20 hour game over a huge but often repetitive game the vast majority of the time.
@@zenebean Breath and Tears are excellent too but I'd take the majority of the series over them most of the time. Both of them and Elden Ring are definitely games that give me hope for the future of Open-worlds though. Cory Barlog had a quote talking about God of War 2018 where he said "it's open but not open-world". I find that approach preferable, give me variety and options but it doesn't need to be epically scaled just for the sake of being large.

I tried to do this once a while back, inspired by the highest > lowest run and... yeah, it sucks. I forgot where I just gave up on it, but it was bad. 100% agree on avoiding the caves and tunnels you don't need to hit to make it more fun overall.
Having to pick my favorite pasta dish is so hard. I love so many of them, but I do want to become better at making my own potato gnocchi! Hmm.. now I am hungry, and thinking about some delicious cheese tortellini that is in the freezer but could be in my belly...

Not bad, but now it's time for alphabetical order from the middle letter of each boss' name. If the boss has an even amount of letters, take the average of the middle two.
You could mash so many mini-dungeons together in this game to form bigger dungeons... Gelmir. Scatter the upgrade materials, and most of the items from the minidungeon or field bosses that they clearly didn't know what to do with in there, and all of a sudden most of the encounters would feel way more meaningful. If you're really struggling for room, give every area like 2 field bosses to fit in anything that can't be fit in a dungeon and isn't already a repeat boss or bulked-up enemy. Maybe have there be one *big* catacomb in Consecrated, like have that be Secret Path to the Haligtree. Or in Dragonbarrow. Give Dragonbarrow some reason to exist beyond housing bosses you can exploit for big runes early game and also Beast Clergyman. I understand redundancy, it's an open world AND a souls game, players are bound to miss shit, and you want them to have plenty of opportunities to get crucial stuff like smithing stones, spirit ashes, or glovewort. But come on, most of these just feel like the developers trying to find somewhere to put these items because there's nowhere in the massive overworld. And in my opinion, I think the playerbase would forgive them for making the overworld smaller in return for more classic souls-like dungeoncrawling for this stuff.
Fun fact you can actually summon for the black knife in Liurnia as long as you've done some of the D quest line and if he's dead for one reason or another then you're on your own.
The Deathrite Bird kill gave me an idea Finish the game, but every boss it is possible to kill by luring other enemies to must be killed exclusively by other enemies' damage
Once again I‘ll bring up my dream of an all-killer-no-filler version of Elden Ring so no one gets baited into doing boring shit. I don’t mind field bosses like Night‘s Cavalries or Deathbirds that much as the thing that makes them feel the most repetitive is the boss health bar but most of the catacombs just aren’t interesting enough for the time one has to spend to complete them. Exploration is one of the most fun aspects in From games and even in my first playthrough I felt disincentivized to do it and that hasn’t happened in any of their other Soulsesque titles.
Re:the demihuman revolution--I started using those boys in my first real run and they have been surprisingly helpful. There are a lot of them and they have a decent amount of variety which is great for dealing with ruins and other places which have several kinds of enemy.
For the catacombs with the imps, I personally like using a medium shield and guard countering them after they bonk off the shield (once their poise runs out). It's one of the few spots guard countering is really good. Also for deathbirds and deathrite birds, Sacred Blade (Ash of War is in Limgrave so can get immediately) shreds them even if you don't have any faith.

It's pretty funny which bosses certain people find difficult/easy. Like I heard so many people talk about how hard commander Nihil is and both times I fought him I killed him on my first attempt in less than 2 minutes. The selia tunnel fallingstar beast kills me all the time though

"Oh"
The kick thing is wild, I had no idea that was a thing
In regards to the crucible tail, i got it before even being close to killing any remembrance bosses. Through casual play i am now in the Mountaintop of the Giants and have just now gotten enough faith to use it 😂
It's pretty funny which bosses certain people find difficult/easy. Like I heard so many people talk about how hard commander Nihil is and both times I fought him I killed him on my first attempt in less than 2 minutes. The selia tunnel fallingstar beast kills me all the time though
39:06 was so epic and hype it gave me chills
This shall make a great video to go with my lunch. Gonna make a big bowl of ramen and enjoy the show!
hey, you might even have leftovers for tomorrow with how long this one is
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 I'm back for my second helping!
I'm sorry, I've never called anyone bad at anything ever, but I can't get over the part about the heater shield parry being so bad. Using a medium shield parry on a crucible knight is still incredibly easy and reliable, the struggle definitely came down to just you not being used to it
Spaghetti Bolognese! Did anybody ask? Actually, yes! Also I don’t know many pasta dishes.
Bolognese is awesome! and I did ask
I have like 1700 hours in this game and the crucible knight kick blew my mind
