    When I was 13 (around 2003) I was obsessed with pre Cowboys Pantera and wanted my band to cover this song. So we learned it but there were no lyrics available anywhere (this stuff was still v obscure back then) - I mailed Terry through his band's site asking if he had the lyrics he could send me. He replied and said he didn't but that he would sit down and listen to it and try to remember them. About an hour later I got another mail with the full lyrics. True story! Really nice guy.

      @@travisreifke4356 What's lame about it? It's just another genre of metal/rock, and some of those "glam" metal bands had guitarists that could play circles around Dime, you're probably just saying it's lame because that's what everyone else said. I used to think it was lame because when I was a retarded 14 year old I saw a video of Dave Mustaine making fun of it in the 80's, but when I finally actually listened to it and formed my own opinion instead of copying the opinion of others, it turned out it absolutely ruled. W.A.S.P., Dokken, Ratt, Cinderella, Britny Fox, Shy, and loads more, they're all great.

      I like some '80s hair metal. But what was interesting is that when Pantera started to get popular, this is before the internet exploded so this part of their career was genuinely suppressed and hidden and they never mentioned it.
      Now you can't get away from it of course. There was a rumor that they used to be a glam band but it was hard to verify back then. What are you going to do go to encyclopedia Britannica and look for Pantera? Lol

      That "hate" was mostly for the sake of creating a certain type of image they thought their fans would think was "tough" or "cool." He eventually pissed off the same type of fans who care about that kind of stuff when he cut his hair short which they all said was proof he had "sold out."
      Of course there were bands like Anthrax that legitimately hated glam bands because a band like Motley Crue could could attract women that were too hot for a guy like Scott Ian to even dream of picking up. Unfortunately they’re all on vinyl and pirated CD. And I’m sure you could find a random cassette. The fourth album was on CD but most copies will most likely be pirated as well.

    dime was young here..17-18. haven't heard this in years...dime had those trusty deans back in the day... the guitar he's using at 02:54 looks like the one evh had and buried it with dime...I always found that here it don't really look like a guitar. so big

    To tell all of you... these were personal friends of mine and you should know that Terry and the rest of the band wouldnt change these days for anything.. Its his voice that got them started along with Dime's playing... so stop bashing and remember this is what lead to Pantera's fame... nuff said.

    no one can ever come close to making good music such as this guitar work, dime was given a gift, there are songs that i feel are meant to be out there like music is a life force of it's own, kind of like it selects people to live it or play it. like how natural selection chooses which species will survive in nature. most of us will never hear the music in our heads, we are tuned out for the most part, I wish I could be hearing it.

    Man I just found this I'm blown away from the difference of sound than the 90s Pantera.......I think they could of made it big with this line up as well if they're stayed together a lil longer. Not knocking the Pantera we're all accustomed to because I love em both!!

    • @Nononosupermannohere
      @Nononosupermannohere 2 роки тому

      I disagree. This style died shortly after they got Phil. How they didn’t make it big when this album came out baffles me. This song is amazing and fits the sounds of that era to a T

    George Lynch actually said in a recent interview that they played allot with Pantera in the mid 80's, so there is definitely allot of Dokken influences there.
    However, if you listen to Metal Magic, you will hear that they where influenced by Kiss.

    i find it incredible that pantera never made it bigger as a hair band.. they did it better than ANY of the other big names did, rocked out way harder, dime ripped the guitar better than any of the other hair metal legends, yea including George Lynch... whatever type of metal they were playing they did it better than anybody else could.

    I could never get into pantera. But i like some old glam metal, just for it's comical sense. Kind of liking this way more than pantera 1989-2000s.
