    When I was 13 (around 2003) I was obsessed with pre Cowboys Pantera and wanted my band to cover this song. So we learned it but there were no lyrics available anywhere (this stuff was still v obscure back then) - I mailed Terry through his band's site asking if he had the lyrics he could send me. He replied and said he didn't but that he would sit down and listen to it and try to remember them. About an hour later I got another mail with the full lyrics. True story! Really nice guy.

      @@travisreifke4356 What's lame about it? It's just another genre of metal/rock, and some of those "glam" metal bands had guitarists that could play circles around Dime, you're probably just saying it's lame because that's what everyone else said. I used to think it was lame because when I was a retarded 14 year old I saw a video of Dave Mustaine making fun of it in the 80's, but when I finally actually listened to it and formed my own opinion instead of copying the opinion of others, it turned out it absolutely ruled. W.A.S.P., Dokken, Ratt, Cinderella, Britny Fox, Shy, and loads more, they're all great.

      That "hate" was mostly for the sake of creating a certain type of image they thought their fans would think was "tough" or "cool." He eventually pissed off the same type of fans who care about that kind of stuff when he cut his hair short which they all said was proof he had "sold out."
      Of course there were bands like Anthrax that legitimately hated glam bands because a band like Motley Crue could could attract women that were too hot for a guy like Scott Ian to even dream of picking up. I have the original VHS copy of this video haha, one day I'll upload this looks like trash

    • @webofhair
      @webofhair  6 років тому +8

      Back when this was originally uploaded, there was a 50MB max file size upload. Otherwise it would look much better! I just need to get a new video capture device, or find the original uncompressed to hell video (If I can find the HDD that has it)

      @vapedatbirth 6 років тому +1

      I remember the file size limit, that makes sense! I have a VHS to DVD converter device, I'd just have to record it to a DVD then dump the .vob files and I'd have a big 1GB or so version of it haha. It also has the video for "Temptation's Wings" by Down right before it! black and white I think

    • @webofhair
      @webofhair  6 років тому

      Hmmm maybe I could do that! I have a DVD-R that I backed up many of my VHS tapes. Didn't know you could dump vob on the tube.

    • @vapedatbirth

      I think I did a .VOB for the Crowbar - Like Broken Glass video on my channel haha, but now there's AVC and stuff to convert it down to that should still look nice. I'd love to see some of the 1987-1989 Pantera gigs in full quality I was happy back in the day to see "Hard Ride" live

    i find it incredible that pantera never made it bigger as a hair band.. they did it better than ANY of the other big names did, rocked out way harder, dime ripped the guitar better than any of the other hair metal legends, yea including George Lynch... whatever type of metal they were playing they did it better than anybody else could.

      Unfortunately they’re all on vinyl and pirated CD. And I’m sure you could find a random cassette. The fourth album was on CD but most copies will most likely be pirated as well.

    I don't have a problem with this sounding Def Leppard-ish because at least it sounds like On through the Night/High N Dry-era Leppard.

    • @GorditoCrunch343
      @GorditoCrunch343 6 років тому +3

      Exactly. You can feel a lot of the bluesy NWOBHM influence in Darrell's playing during this time. Def Leppard used to rock with the best of 'em too, sad what they've turned into now.
