Well back in the early 90’s, one my sisters first boyfriends made her a cassette tape of Skid Row’s I Remember You, recorded about 6 times, on both sides of the tape. She would play it on her auto reverse cassette deck over and over and over. My 14 year old brain couldn’t handle it haha. Back then I swore, I never wanna hear this song again. This is so funny and I'm under 3 minutes in. In 7th grade, JCPenny had Youth Gone Wild shirts in the clearance section for $5. I was walking around the mall with my girlfriends, and my mom was with my little brother elsewhere in the mall. All my friends bought a shirt, of course. I was so pissed off because there was no way my mom was going to let me wear a shirt that said Skid Row or Youth Gone Wild. The woman made me personally return my open Slippery When Wet cassette solely based on the first verse of Never Say Goodbye. In retrospect, double entendres were not her strong suit. Well, we finally met back up to leave the mall, and my little brother is wearing a Youth Gone Wild shirt. Only a few years later when I was 15, she was dropping me off with another 15 year old at Fair Park in Dallas to see Skid Row and Pantera, yet I was not allowed to watch The Simpsons, Cheers or reruns of Three's Company. Somehow miraculously, Sebastian Bach just never set off her radar..

Sebastian is totally correct about CDs. Perfect ears hear from 20-20,000 Hz. CD sampling rate is at 44.1 Khz so a 20,000 Hz sinewave is only getting sampled 2.2 times. This turns a sinewave into a square wave at best! As an audio engineer in the 80's, I always complained about the 'crispy' high end on CD's due to the lack of accurate representation. Always a joy to listen to Sebastian whether he's singing, talking about vinyl or imitating the Scorpions lead singer on Trailer Park Boys. Mad respect from a fellow Canadian on the West Coast.

The question is not vinyl vs cd. The key is analog recording. Those records from 70s, 80s and I guess majority of 90s were recorded in analog. So todays hype and fashion of vinyl is tricky cause majority of the modern presses are cut from digital files (for whatever reasons like - the tapes are worn cause of their age and to save the music it’s needed to be converted into digital OR there are lack of experienced engineers to work with analog gear to cut the lacquers etc). So nowadays when majority of the records done in digital there is not much reason to cut vinyl (as analog format) from digital files. It’s enough to have DAC and 24bit WAV. I’m truly for the vinyl in case analog chain from recording through mixing, mastering and cutting is not broken. If there is digital conversion at any stage the advantage of vinyl as analog format is questionable.
The Daio Kosan LZ II cd sounds fantastic. Mastered by Barry Diament. Lots of peeps wanna trash cds...its just like vinyl..its all about the mastering. i don't agree with sebastian bach about the cd vs vinyl thing ! my music collection is mostly cds and i can listen to cd's in full all day ! i don't say that cd sound quality is better than vinyl but i'm very satisfied with the sound quality of cds ! i heard vinyl records before and it was an amazing experience but i'm very satisfied about the sound quality of my cds ! i am an avid music fan who listen to albums in full all the time so no i don't agree😄 the vinyl quality sound is overrated in my opinion but the sound is great ! i liked is picks nonetheless !
While I don't miss tje imperfections, pops etc. that you would get with vinyl as it ages, I definitely agree with what he said about it's warmth of sound. Back in the day I used to clean the record and record it on a high quality cassette and place the album in a protective sleeve. Unfortunately I sold my vinyl after toting it around for nearly two decades, and vinyl hadn't even come back yet. 20/20 hindsight. 😄
Regardless which of the formats you prefer, physical media is the best!!! I know there's people who only download, stream, etc., but there's nothing beter than actually owning physical copies of your favorite musiic. There's something nice about looking at your collection on the shelf everyday!!
Yes ! I agree 100% ! The sound quality is not the most important thing ! The most important thing is that the music you love, you have to own it physically of course either it's vinyl or cd ! It's so beautiful to touch your records, to see the art, to read the lyrics, the stories behind the albums ! Every band, regardless of how big they are have fans that make the claim they're underrated.
The word has lost its intended meaning.
Slave To The Grind is an Obsession and Skid Row's ST album might just be the best debut album of the 80's.
Best debut of the 80s? Try Blizzard of Ozz, self titled Iron Maiden, holy diver from Dio...1st Skid Row is great but doesn't compare to those albums.
My uncle has that Rush 2112 mirror…. We blew way too many lines of coke off that thing lmao.
😂😂😂
Vinyl is a hug from you Mother. CD is a hug from a stranger.
CD is a hug from the Tin Man
CDs are almost worthless now, you can buy them now in thrift stores lol
very good choice Kiss Rock and roll all over 5.
another great choice Van Halen -2 .4

Look I love CDs. I don't hate vinyl but Baz comes across as a vinyl snob. As long as you identify with music no matter the format it's a win
I wonder how record sales have been since Sire Big Mouth ranted about his hate for Republicans.
i don't agree with sebastian bach about the cd vs vinyl thing ! my music collection is mostly cds and i can listen to cd's in full all day ! i don't say that cd sound quality is better than vinyl but i'm very satisfied with the sound quality of cds ! i heard vinyl records before and it was an amazing experience but i'm very satisfied about the sound quality of my cds ! i am an avid music fan who listen to albums in full all the time so no i don't agree😄 the vinyl quality sound is overrated in my opinion but the sound is great ! i liked is picks nonetheless !
It's way better than having music on a little screen 😂 thanks for sharing your opinion !😊@@RaymondCarver-vy9uk

Sir you are a delight to listen to. I don't know why I never knew of your existence until this year. Well...the saying, "It's never too late" never sounded as true as it does right now at this moment. I am embellishing a bit, but it's not an exaggeration. This man is a delight to listen to!!!!
He was on the television show Gilmore Girls and he is pure joy in that
I would spin a record with Baz any day and the tip on something to check out Max Webster
Don't want ear fatique, use old Technics speakers. And lidten in bigger room or in garage. Modern aluminum tweeters give ear fatigue.
Way 2 Go Sab....doing a Shout Out To Max!!!!!!
..."High Class In Borrowed Shoes" and "A Million Vacations" Are Epic Albums, Would love to see Them repressed!...
