How would 100 people not like this video? He's adorable. And the fact he's a clean family man living under his means? He's also an example many people in the world today could admire. Plus and plus. Win and win!
No one understands how much I love this man!!! Like, oh my gosh he's amazing. And I LOVE that he's "clean". I am 16 and curse but i try not to watch bad stuff and videos where people curse and say "dirty" things. That's the reason I love him so much. Because I can talk to my mom about him and tell her his jokes, because he's funny.
MR. Gaffigan. YOU STEAL HEARTS WITH YOUR COMEDY. Your sweet funny and people like you. Enjoy every minute rhar you can with your babies . Before you know it it they will have grown and all youll have is the memories you make today.
I love him........ My parents had six kids and we grew up in a tiny two bedroom house. That was many years ago, we had a blast. Now he's doing it and people think it's weird. Nope, not weird, it's inspiring and loving. Look how little his kids are and they are so well behaved. It's because he keeps them close and tight to him.............. Rock on.
I am happy that you do not use swear words, It makes you worth watching where the others are not. Thank You for your clean humor. I have been sending your clips to a little girl who has been in the hospital for a month and a week now. I think that laughter is important to healing. Keep up the good work.
Father of five...open to more. Wow! He's never going to have a disappointing Father's Day. Someone will always come through with something, if only more material for the act.
What isn't to love about Jim Gaffigan? Wish my Dad (Catholic father of six) had had the honor and sense of love and responsibility this guy has. Long live Gaffganistan!
I really like him. He's always funny yet doesn't have jokes about the typical things that comics talk about like trashing women or bitching about their wife or girlfriend or mocking any specific stereotype. The best kind of comics are the ones that make jokes about stuff that most people can relate to yet never have to put anyone else down to get a laugh.
I just noticed Jim Gaffigan and I didn't even realize that he was "clean". Truly hysterical, this guy can bring you to tears laughing. I still don't really understand living in such a small apartment though, he's gotta be making pretty good money at this point in his career.
Jim Gaffigan is the funniest comedian out there right now, and it was good to see one of TV's best storytellers, Anthony Mason, give him well deserved exposure. Awesome segment!
This was great, and Jim is clean and hilarious. Yes, he has five children, so what? I wish the world was populated with people more like the children being raised in his home than some of outrageously insensitive commenters below.
Hey! I'm below, and I HEARD that! Actually I read it. I'm offended, but, since we're on a thread in Gaffganistan, I'll let it go.😒.….................still miffed.
***** actually, I got my start on Comedy Central. Check out the stand-up I posted a couple of days ago and I give the story on that. It was after I shot a video for Tosh.0 that I thought maybe I should do stand-up. So I watched every comedy special on Netflix, wrote out my own hour long special, then started doing open mics. So I kind of went about it backwards. But the reality is that making highly opinionated videos on UA-cam got me to open up. Before than I was pretty afraid to talk even to friends.
Hurts to hear him say that being considered "clean" is meh. And then comparing himself to other clean comedians of the past, Bill Cosby, etc. Here's the difference, Cosby grew up in a clean era. Jim Gaffigan is a light in a vast dark world of comedy. He should not feel anything less than absolutely charming. Keep it real Jim, and thank you for keeping it clean. Intelligent people don't need to swear to be funny.
I understand not wanting to be pigeonholed for something not directly related to his material. And there are numerous stand ups today whose topics aren't dirty in themselves but splatter their routines with adult language to seem more "honest" or "real." A strength of Gaffigan's material is its descriptiveness, and F words et al visualize nothing, so why bother?
I'm not a prude, but it's refreshing listening to a comedian that's not just rehashing the material of every other bottom-of-the-barrel comedian out there (going to the bar, club, sexual exploits, how wasted/high they got etc. etc. etc.)
Manda Kwinshi in another interview they asked him why he does “clean” comedy, and he said “because Jesus tells me to”. So I think he’s more proud of being clean than he let’s on in this one 😁
I love Jim's comedy because it's "clean", whatever that means. Is a kind of act that I can share with my kids and they love it! Thanks Jim. In this time and age having something to laugh about is really liberating.
There is something incredibly positively American about Jim Gaffigan. He is a comic who subverts, not only everyday life, but the world of stand-up comedy itself. Gaffigan is clean. Like a clearly played arpeggio on an acoustic guitar.
I really like this guy....both his humor and his humanity. He says things that make me burst out in laughter. He does not find it necessary to lace his routines with F-words, C-words, etc. I could take children and my grandmother to one of his performances and everyone would laugh. Comparing him to Bill Cosby and Bob Newhart is spot on. I wish him and his family nothing but success and happiness.
It takes much higher intelligence to create satire without dumbing down the audience with the distraction of being nasty. Jim is hilarious….LOVE HIM (and the family).
I loved this guy's standup. It's a unique experience these days to be able to laugh your ass off with your whole family and not feel awkward because of inappropriate comedic material that seems to be a given and not an exception for any comic that is worth watching. Now that I know a little bit more about him and his family, I find him inspirational and I'm proud to be a fan. Jim, keep up the good work and god bless!
I do not see anything wrong with that....if you r poor it’s ok?....but if you have more money is wrong?...they r gonna grow closer....not tv in every room...no iPads...better conversations
I stood in the dumbo line for an hour and a half too. That has been my "line" for ever as to how you know you are a parent. Really enjoying finding Jim.
The cost of raising so many kids, mayne theyresaving for college, too. Perhaps theyre also being wise, knowing that you never know when a career in the arts/entertainment may decline
@@melissasaint3283 - What bothers me is why everyone in the entertainment industry doesn't understand this. You're not going to be on top forever, save that money. Who needs a sixteen bedroom house and four Lamborghini's?
That is why I watch you is because you are “clean”. Cursing are just filler words for people who have nothing better to say. I have recommended you to many people because you are the alternative to all the filth out there.
JIM GAFFIGAN ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY SON AND I LISTEN TO HIM AND LAUGH SO HARRRRD!!!!!!!!! ALL THE TIME! HE IS THE BEST COMEDIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Years ago, he was doing a concert for students only, at WSU, Wright State University. Price $25. I was all excited, told my college student kid, I'd buy him a ticket. He declined, due to school work/class conflicts. He still hasn't completed school. I wish I could have said, "hey, it's 2011, ya know in 2019, you still won't have a degree. Just go to the fu&king concert and enjoy it."
I think it's much more difficult to be funny when your performance is clean, which is the reason I particularly enjoy and admire his work - not to mention, this also usually means that you need to get pretty creative. Crude humor on the other hand tends to be elementary to me, and taking an example like the "that's what she said" joke, has much more potential for stringing together ideas for jokes that don't require much thinking at all. That's not to say you can't have elaborate jokes in a crude act (this much is obvious), but on the whole it's very "easy" by comparison.
I do get what he means - and there were certainly plenty of 'dirty' comics back in Newhart and Cosby's salad days - but having either 'dirty' or 'clean' as a mission statement kind of limits you and narrows your audience. I like that he's genuinely funny and just happens to be clean. [added later] as Frank Sinatra said to Luther Campbell, "You don't have to go blue - that's why Redd Foxx never played the big room!" (okay, Phil Hartman as Sinatra. but still)
Bill Engvall once tried to do the Normal comic thing, being dirty, and he hated it. He said he didn't feel like he was being funny, and the he felt that the audience was reqacting more to his swearing than to the comedy. Jim Gaffigan is similar to that. He does a funny show that just does not have much or any swearing in it. He is a comedian that my kids can listen to and I don't have to worry about getting a phone call from their school teacher complaining about the terrible language they have picked up from comedians they watch with their parents.
I love funny comedians, don't care if they swear or not, as long as they're funny. And Jim Gaffigan is one of them. And I hope he knows that he is one of those comedians who "happens to be clean" instead of a "clean comedian" I didn't even notice until I was putting together a comedy playlist to play in the car for the preteens I nanny/cart around during the summer...Oh yeah, Jim Gaffigan doesn't swear...huh....
How would 100 people not like this video? He's adorable. And the fact he's a clean family man living under his means? He's also an example many people in the world today could admire. Plus and plus. Win and win!

He's wonderfully funny, yet wholly down-to-earth. That's a rare achievement for anyone in the spot light!
Jim Gaffigan and Brian Regan are both endlessly humorous. I have spent many happy hours listening to both of them. Both are brilliant.
