Sm64 is such a well made, deeply genius, beautiful, wonderous, and true gem of a game. It's funny, nostalgic, and cozy no matter where you are. It kind of feels like a childhood dream... Not to mention how fuckin well coded it is!! I'm a programmer and I understand the power this game exhibits.

I was trying out these glitches while he was doing them. I got to the aquarium and got inside. It was easy for me, but hard for him, so I had to wait a while. When he finally got in he says, " The one downside to this particular gitch is...you can't get out. What I was thinking: may your Nintendo 64 blow up into a billion pieces.
You need either a wired (non-wireless) controller, or an adapter for the wireless hooked up to your pc which is pretty expensive if I remember correctly lol. To change the camera with the keyboard, just assign the "c" buttons in the controller configuration to keys on your keyboard and you should be able to do it that way =)
The reason being is that those doors are for entering different parts of the castle (you'll notice the screen fades to black then comes back with new scenery). You can't take the bunny out of the basement area with just glitches as far as I know unfortunately =(
There is another way of getting inside of the part between main door and castle. You gotta Lobby Backwards Longjump begins the door, and instantly cancel it with a ground pound. This way you are inside there too

you forgot this glitch from wet-dry world were the water spider got stuck from between the brown bridge and the fence, i was like "woah! i never that before!", it's super hard and difficult to do the glitch.
I remember i did the endless stair glitch a few months after this was posted around the same month i graduated high school in June 2012 i remember i was playing on my old N64 in my club house in my backyard when I was 18 almost 19 after i got 50 stars on the game I would I was looking at another old video on UA-cam and discovered a endless stair glitch on my old laptop so after i watched that video i went to the stairs on my game started doing the backwards long jump taping the A button as fast as I can and eventually i glitched up the stairs without 70 stars but the endless stairs music still plays but another copy of this game for my N64 still learning more glitches I have learned a new one i could get the 6th star in Whomps fortress without the cannon.
Yes it is real. To do the backwards long jump, you must do the regular long jump first, continue to hold down the z button, then while holding the analog stick backwards, continuously press the jump button until mario slowly starts moving backwards and doing the long jump.
It works, but keyboards can only register a certain amount of keys being pressed at the same time so that's probably why you can't do it. I used an emulator and a 360 wired controller to do it =)
@ne0cha0s. The fourth glitch that you showed and you said "there is really no need for this" but in fact if you are inside of the pillar and face away from the 8 star door and backwards long jump you are able to get to the first Bowser without any stars.
ok... did you has hard time to do to go top of castle without 120 stars? it not take long time. walk far away from castle and stay on right side of hill. next you adjust free camera(aka brown man with cloud) then running until you see light green line near castle and hill, jump first near ( not on) as possible, then do jump twice, then fall with slide, jump and voila! you top on castle in less than 30 seconds. have a great try! :)
I might point out the columbs you was talking about.. well, after several hours trying to make that glitch, I finally did :) on an original n64... so it's not totally impossible, but you won't make it in the first shot ;)

(Maybe 20 on Amazon)
Ive played the ds version and i dont understand why people say this is such a good game. Galaxy far outclasses it in terms of controls, camera, music, and gameplay.
i have something cool Do The Backwords Flip Never Let Go Of the crouch button and click A Right when mario touches the ground and you'll do alot of Back flips
You do not need even 2 pieces of life, while ur falling into the castle, hold A for your hat to flutter, and you fall too slowly for you to get hurt (P.S: you need the flying hat to not take fall damage)
I know 2 funny glitches more, with one u can get invinite mario caps and with the other u have 6 silverstars. 1 is at ur head and u can walk everywhere u want :D
Actually, @6:40 - 6:45, when you said it required an outside code, no it doesn't! I actually beat the game... WITH ZERO STARS, WITHOUT THE CODE!!! On top of that, I did all these glitches, ON THE WII VERSION, Including the Zero star glitch!!! It took a lot of practicing, but I was finally able to do it, If you want, when I get my camera, I will upload a video of me doing it!! However... It probably won't be a Speed Run

if you mean on the main stairs in the lobby, i think if you try to backwards long jump on them, you actually fall through them.
every mario 64 copy is personalised.
I did the glitch with the weird ledge by the stairs, in 3d all stars bit instead i ran down and backflipped to grab the ledge and it works!

I long jumped on the left side of the infinite staircase, and it brought me to wet dry world
If the stairs are endless,then the castle must be bigger than the universe because there's not enough room for the endless stairs to put in the castle
