Yeah, but of you followed the advice of the video, you just summon a different ship, switch to another multitool, and have the peace and quiet to fix the stuff in your suit. No?
hello im new to no man sky and i just watching some videos about star system and how to get around and came across a video about portals and 16 glifs to travel to any galaxy. but in a video they said if you use portals to travel to different galaxy you cant use normal to come back to your original planet or build base computer. so how do we get back after lets say buying an extoc s class ship or freighter back to your original base if you cant use normal portals. if you dont play multiplayer or have any friend that play no man sky
Let's just put things in perspective... Portals and teleporters are different things, right? Teleporters exist on space stations, and you can build them in your bases, and don't require glyphs. Portals are those Stargate-like places you can find on the surface of planets, which require glyphs to use them. Telporters are recorded for you when you use them, so you can travel from one teleporter to another as you see fit (with the exception of pirate systems teleporters). This means, if you have a base in one Galaxy, and another in a different Galaxy, you can use a teleporter to travel between them any time you like with no damage whatsoever. Portals, on the other hand, require glyphs and cannot let you travel between galaxies at all. Only between planets in the same Galaxy. If you have no friend to help you travel to another Galaxy, and no multiplayer ability, you can only do one thing: Go to the Space Anomaly, use the teleporter there, and travel to the Community bases. One of them could be in another Galaxy, and since you used a teleporter, no damage. Otherwise you must go through Galaxy core to reach next Galaxy. Portals are limited to the same galaxy, so they can't take your to another. It will take you to about 5k near the center of the galaxy you're in. You can check out ua-cam.com/video/12lZSatFLQY/v-deo.html which explains this as well.
Have a sht ship, a sht multitool, unpack you exosuit, swap to sht ship, swap to sht multi then jump. I use a shuttle that I only repair the required flight components. Never fix anything on the multi. Load into the new galaxy and swap to main multi, find sht shit, repai to fly, call in frieghter, call in main ship. Rinse and repeat.
@ggfnmsvids Yep, we are on the same page. Just commented to help boost. I wish there was an item that protected you from hopping, like the polo statue, for example, something like that for ship, mt, exosuit.
I just keep the damage ship damaged and select it before jumping galaxies with my capital ship, no need to ever repair it, same with the multi tool, I never fix it. Also at the space anomaly in the teleport section select the Space Anomaly section , these are the galaxie of people that ar visiting the anomaly at the moment, sometimes you can see people on the anomaly from galaxies you have never been too and you can you jump there. This is how I got to 256 Odyalutai
Repair kits were a bit hard to get in the beginning of 2023, and even today - when they are less rare - you will need 1-2 repair kits per damaged tech, which can reach 100 repair kits if you want to use only repair kits. I really appreciate you commenting on this. I will add information into the pinned comment, to point people to the option of repair kits. Thank you! GGF
the spoiler method is sadly wrong, when i did it just a few hours ago i didnt know it would damage everything, luckily i had multiple ships already so i could go up into my freighter and fix everything, also, a third method some understandably dont want to use is to change the difficulty to creative and fix everything that way (might as well go all the way if you switch to creative to buy a ship and multitool anyways)
Ummm... Not sure how to react to that. This is the way it is. Think about how this was in the game when it just launched... There was no shortcut. No portals, and no black-holes to help you reach the center at all. You could take days in real-life time of traveling, and not see the center.
Tiny spoiler he says around 11:03, seems you forgot to mention that when you used the 12 identical jump symbols, I mean sure the tip is old as fuck, but is absolutely a spoiler. Also, I did this jump once just so I can say I did it. It seems like stupidity to me, of course, everyone will have their own thoughts about flying to the core. Me, I like to go to only green-friendly solar systems and I can do that from the big mean alias space stations, so you do you and I'll do me. Though maybe I will do the other things because I'm not a big fan of having to fix things.
Honestly, I hadn't tought of this trick as a spoiler, but you are absolutely correct. And yet - it doesn't take you _all the way_ to the core, right? Getting to the core from the start point without going through black holes is quite hard and time consuming. Oh, and you could have written "Tiny spoiler YOU say around 11:03..." - I am still a tiny channel, and I try to answer all of the comments that I have something to say about. What I have to say to you is thanks! Thanks for bothering to comment, and thanks for coming out and reminding me that this trick is also a bit of a spoiler. This is what I love about this community. Thank you!
It's always good to hear from players who recheck. At least you know how to solve the issue... Summon a different ship... I hope you switched multitool at least.
@ oh yeah I have made it out past galaxy 30 but that was the whole reason for doing the living ship quest was to have a ship that would not break with every jump but that’s ok that’s why we have tons of resources and a few hundred repair kits.
You are absolutely right. It's a valid option. There's no real reason not to do this. And still, some people won't change their settings to buy a better ship either. Thanks for commenting! GGF
This is a tiny bit of a spoiler (really tiny), so stop reading now, if that's an issue. Is the center populated? Well, there are many systems near the core that have player bases, so - sort of populated but that's not the reason (you can still stop reading)... No Man's Sky has 255 normally-reachable galaxies, that differ a little bit. The description of the video has a link to where you can read about it in the NMS wiki. In short - the core is the way to reach the next galaxy. GGF
What are you talking about Galaxy hopping and tech damage, has NEVER happened to me. Why even pick a B or C class ship to jump with, in short order, you can get a S class Sentinel with S class modules. And I have only been playing this game for 4 months !
The ONLY time I get/have a badly damaged ship is after I get one from a distress call, fix 2-3 modules then go to space station and trash it it. 2.98K subscribers. ..hmmmm
Have you warped through the galaxy core? If you did and nothing became broken in your suit / chip / MT, please let me know. I will soon have time to re-test this, to re-verify. I was thinking of re-doing this video - to show the newer space-stations. Might be an opportunity.
You don’t need hyperdrive at all. Just use a freighter it doesn’t damage it,though still damages ship and multi tool. If you have multiple ships and willing to sort of sacrifice one, just equip that ship in you freighter every time as it doesn’t matter if it’s still broken to the point where it can’t take off,as you in your freighter. I use a shuttle that I only repair the required flight components. Never fix anything on the multi. Load into the new galaxy and swap to main multi, find sht shit, repai to fly, call in frieghter, call in main ship. Rinse and repeat.
I think that's exactly right. This is what the video is saying, no? Did you get a different impression?
@ggfnmsvids Yep, we are on the same page. Just commented to help boost.
I wish there was an item that protected you from hopping, like the polo statue, for example, something like that for ship, mt, exosuit.
@zantar2482 That's a neat idea 👍🏻
you can also get a ton of repair kits
I agree, why cheat yourself?
Also a tip for galaxy hoping it can destroy your save
I just keep the damage ship damaged and select it before jumping galaxies with my capital ship, no need to ever repair it, same with the multi tool, I never fix it.
Also at the space anomaly in the teleport section select the Space Anomaly section , these are the galaxie of people that ar visiting the anomaly at the moment, sometimes you can see people on the anomaly from galaxies you have never been too and you can you jump there. This is how I got to 256 Odyalutai
That's very good advice! Thanks for commenting...
We’re repair kits not a thing back then?
Repair kits were a bit hard to get in the beginning of 2023, and even today - when they are less rare - you will need 1-2 repair kits per damaged tech, which can reach 100 repair kits if you want to use only repair kits.
I really appreciate you commenting on this. I will add information into the pinned comment, to point people to the option of repair kits.
Thank you!

the spoiler method is sadly wrong, when i did it just a few hours ago i didnt know it would damage everything, luckily i had multiple ships already so i could go up into my freighter and fix everything, also, a third method some understandably dont want to use is to change the difficulty to creative and fix everything that way (might as well go all the way if you switch to creative to buy a ship and multitool anyways)
That is quite strange, I must admit. I don't remember having damage with this method. I guess I'll start a new save to verify.
@@goodguysfree Happened to me too. I had chosen green galaxy and I had all technology damaged
@@thorin87 Thanks for replying...
its always a pain in the ass to get to the centre then you have to travel around like an idiot just to get the option to reach the centre
Thank you!
I thought a living ship could jump galaxies with breaking any tech but I just made a jump and everything was broken
Why not just jump and then make crafting free then repair everything
You are absolutely right. It's a valid option. There's no real reason not to do this. And still, some people won't change their settings to buy a better ship either.
Thanks for commenting!

Some ppl are legit gamers - they dont like to cheat
Veteran's all have their difficulty settings locked. It's only the new players who do that sort of thing. It's looked down upon
I'm a veteran and my settings aren't locked. Did I miss something? @@requiemagent3014
why do people want to get to the centre of the galaxy? is it because its populated?
This is a tiny bit of a spoiler (really tiny), so stop reading now, if that's an issue.
Is the center populated? Well, there are many systems near the core that have player bases, so - sort of populated but that's not the reason (you can still stop reading)...
No Man's Sky has 255 normally-reachable galaxies, that differ a little bit. The description of the video has a link to where you can read about it in the NMS wiki.
In short - the core is the way to reach the next galaxy.

U sound like the cave man from trailer park boys
Errr... Is that a compliment? I'll take it as one. LOL.
