You can use the nomansapp.com service bot. The free-tier for the service-bot's patreon allows you 3-4 free uses per month, so it can be obtained without paying. Of course you can catch GhostLight's giveaway streams, or Ricey's stream and get it from them, or (more cumbersome, sorry) you can ask me for one. I have a form you can fill to request - I use it to keep track of who I already gave ships to, and who I still need to give ships to.

That's too little information. Which steps? Without actually passing a save-file from console to Steam and running the game in Steam - I don't think it's possible, right now. We're all hoping they resolve this somehow, bc as it sits now - many creators and other players are working hard to gift this ship to console players, myself included, and it's taking up a lot of time and effort. Time and effort that our fellow players fully deserve, but that Hello Games should have spent in the first place.

@ ghost helped me couple days ago but i own it on steam and claimed package tried doin the cross save and like u said dnt think its transferring the claim option once its picked up on console

There is several things that are contradicting in the wording of the article wich leads it be pretty misleading and i get the feeling its delibaratly vague ... they could have outright said look this is a steam exclusive end of the story but delibarately wording it as for the entire community and being able to download it even you dont own nms on steam is pretty damn bad in my opinion

Errrr... One could argue that like the Switch-only Horizon-NX starship, maybe HG intended this to really be Steam-only, not for the entire community? In which case you could argue that they are trying to push people towards buying the game on Steam. No? I still hope they will make it available on other platforms as well.

At least with the switch only ship, they specifically said "this is only available on the switch". They never once stated it was "only available for steam players" until you go directly to their website or on steam itself. Oh and you can't use the service bot for it either. ITS EXCLUSIVE TO PATRONS! What a joke!

We don't know exactly how this will work, if at all. The wording suggests they intended it to work, or they were careless in choosing their words. "..even if you don’t own No Man’s Sky. You can then redeem your ship in-game .." really sounds like they mean for this to be possible to claim on other platforms somehow. And yeah - you can refund games, but seriously - the offer is until the 19th, so waiting for a spot on the cloud-save beta before then is a stretch.

The expedition ship also has a Photonics Core that the freebie lacks.

Like @dkindig answered - you understand that the expedition reward is a slightly different ship - and actually somewhat better than the freebie. But they are not the same.

Not exactly. It also doesn't come with a Photonix Core. Other than that it's the same.

I'm sure they'll make it available to all for quicksilver. But remember this isn't the only ship that's platform-specific. The Switch has the Horizon NX special ship too.

@goodguysfree but it's technically dlc and listed as it and if u buy dlc for a steam game it's not going to give u the dlc on Xbox,the whole thing is worded wrong and they most likely mean it will be available if u get the ship even if u don't have the game then when u get the game it will be available even past the 19th, everybody seems to forget this isn't the first time one platform got a ship and others didn't like the Nintendo only ship,as far as I know it's not available on other platforms besides the switch

You make an excellent point! Thank you. And I totally agree - the wording is misleading, or at the very least - partial to the point of causing unwanted and unmerited confusion and grief. Had they simply come out and say - this is Steam exclusive and NOT say "..even if you don't own the game", the backlash would have looked different.

@@Shinicliff I'm sure I'll be around, along with many others. A lot of steam players are trying to spread them around. Most see how unfair it is to only have released it on steam. Just look for someone sitting in theirs in the Anomaly and try to invite them. In general the community is better than most.

Indeed. The issue is mainly with ppl who don't have the game on Steam... There are a lot of ppl saying that you can make a new account, add the ship to your library, and then claim it on console without ever loading the game on Steam. The text HG put there makes it appear they are right, but it doesn't work..

Issue with thst is the ship loses its exclusive ship part that both starborn ships have. Either way tho hope your friend loves the ship.
