I've just started and I was fine with paying full price (as I generally wait for a bit till the price comes down) with all the add-ons, as opposed to a certain "elite" game you have to play "dangerously" that was ruined with its full priced alpha (that may as well be a beta) and is unplayable (on my rig). So yeah, credit to Sean and his team. They've earned my coin.
It would be cool if you could assign them to your base, so perhaps have them patrolling, mining, or gathering in the immediate area. It would make the bases feel more alive. Also hopefully at some point you will be able to hire/gain npc's and have them live at your base and perhaps assign them to things such as farming and guard duty. Those two things could then be connected as you could have npc's riding on creatures as guards patrolling your base limits, or have a small pen of animals with a farmer that is harvesting them for whatever they produce.

I noticed that creatures with high aggressiveness with lasers equiped sometimes destroy hazardous flora, but get sidetracked and hunt other creatures more often. My companions with high independence don't need to be pet or fed as often. I have only 4 of them so far, so I didn't have much opportunities to experiment with different types and might be completely wrong.
You can put the eggs through the sequencer more than once before hatching you don’t have to fill all slots so could resize 5 times to produce a giant. Also elements give a consistent colour change eg carbon = red.
Great video as always! I'd just like to add that in Growth Hormone whatever resource that reaches 100% dose will work. I've been growing diplos from 1.4m to 6.9m right now, having them grow 0.5m every manipulation. I started with 80 Phosphorus, then I learned that 13 Ionised Cobalt or 10 Platinum would work as well. I'm using Ionised Cobalt coz I have plenty in my inventory.
My first companion is a red and gray t-rex with a beak, ram horns and spikes going down its back. It's exactly what I was looking for and I'm very happy!
14:52 I found that you can get a 'perfect' companion in a single generation by adding to a certain stat, put the egg back in the sequencer and add to that stat again until it says 'inherited' (or however that translates). Like increase gentleness until 'inherited'. Then you can switch to a different stat and repeat the process until you reached 'inherited'. This way I got my 'rock lion' (Those cat-like animals with a sort of rhino-armor) to 100% in all three stats without having to ..."wait" forever. On a side note: 'Rock lions' can't be recolored or changed in anatomy, which is a real bummer.
@@LionHeartGames. From what limited testing I've done it seems that older creature models have more options while 'new' ones seem to have very limited or even no option at all in terms of anatomy. My own female typus bone-crown dinosaur always comes out the same (despite the male typus of the same species looking way different) while a Proto-Gek I used as guinnea pig had some variations. Usually spikes, feathers, ears...
Given time and patience I’d guess they can get quite large. I found giving a T-Rex like Dino Activated Indium makes it quite large, but I haven’t yet tested if you make a large one, grow it, take an egg from it, make it larger with Activated Indium, grow that one and take an egg from it, etc etc.
GOLD TIP You can clone an egg SEVERAL TIMES before you hatch it. Each passage of the egg in the sequencer, and therefore of its modifications, is taken into account! Ex_ Increase the size about 20 times to 100% in the sequencer, with carbon for example, 410 carbones x20, to directly get a creature at its maximum size Ditto for the character. PS_ The sequencer informs you when you have reached the maximum / minimum possible of a stat, by displaying 'Hereditary' after validation of the cloning Simple and efficient Enjoy it :) PS Idk if that way is useful to obtain multiple colors on a creature or to change his anatomy. i do some tests.. let me known if you find something useful about that. One thing you got wrong: There's not a limit on the number of eggs a creature can lay; there is a limit on the number of eggs you can have in your inventory. You can only have 6 eggs in your inventory since you only have 6 slots in the companion register.
I kinda feel bad getting all these updates for free. Gamers today are definitely not used to free content. The devs of NMS has forever earned a repeat buyer as well as positive word-of-mouth recommendations.
I don’t buy games on day one, I wait for reviews and patches and refused to buy this game on principle. But I have to admit they’ve done a remarkable job getting this game to what they promised.... and then some. My initial reaction was that they’d just lied and manipulated people for cash but I don’t believe that anymore. I honestly believe that Shaun Murray was out of his depth and with no public relations training, he got caught up in the whirlwind (a whirlwind he created and fostered, admittedly) of hype around the game. He was so desperate for the game to be a success that he just couldn’t say no when he was doing interviews, etc. I expected him and his team to bank the cash and cut and run but thankfully they didn’t. They knuckled down and worked and worked and worked on it until it’s where we are today. All for free. They deserved the criticism at launch but they equally deserve the high praise they get today for consistently delivering great content to their customers. I’ll be going against my own principles in the next week or so and I’ll be buying the game. This studio have actually earned my respect, trust, forgiveness and my money.

I cool idea or tweak I thought of was: what if, given your pet had laser(s), you could command it to harvest as much of a specific resource as it can? For example, I could order my animal to look for di-hydrogen, and it would collect as much as it could within a radius of, idk, 200u
Are you sure that "cannot carry any more eggs" meant that the creature couldn't lay more eggs and not that you were not allowed to induce eggs because you are only allowed to have a certain number in your inventory? It would make more sense if that's how it worked considering that the message is that you cannot "carry any more eggs", not that the creature cannot produce more.
Also you can still add more materials to an egg that was modified before, each 100% in height gives 0.5m modifier and in personality each 100% of material gives 20% of the corresponding attribute, that by my experience
I've got these like mole miner (from fallout 76) animals on my planets wich are green and look really basic but they have a really cool mouth and are smaller then a geck. But it is from a scorch planet that's storms last like 30 second

I cool idea or tweak I thought of was: what if, given your pet had laser(s), you could command it to harvest as much of a specific resource as it can?
For example, I could order my animal to look for di-hydrogen, and it would collect as much as it could within a radius of, idk, 200u

Are you sure that "cannot carry any more eggs" meant that the creature couldn't lay more eggs and not that you were not allowed to induce eggs because you are only allowed to have a certain number in your inventory? It would make more sense if that's how it worked considering that the message is that you cannot "carry any more eggs", not that the creature cannot produce more.
I can confirm that you can only have 6 eggs in your inventory but the creatures can lay unlimited eggs i believe

The egg limit is how much eggs u have in your inventory only 6 past that you can't take another one
Also you can still add more materials to an egg that was modified before, each 100% in height gives 0.5m modifier and in personality each 100% of material gives 20% of the corresponding attribute, that by my experience
I've got these like mole miner (from fallout 76) animals on my planets wich are green and look really basic but they have a really cool mouth and are smaller then a geck. But it is from a scorch planet that's storms last like 30 second
