Now, that you dropped it on wooden floor at the end of the video, I can actually believe that it's the sound that fits. Only in this scenario though (closed or somewhat closed room and wooden floor). I dropped heavy equipment, like a perforator onto floorboards before. Sounds kinda the same.
My theory is that someone at Valve accidentally turned up the bass too high and didn't notice, and when (or if) they noticed decided it was too much trouble to fix it or something.
I can see how it would make the bass thud when dropped on wood but that deflating tire noise is abnormal at best I think the sound file got distorted somewhere between production and implementation, probably most of the sound was lost in the sound editing software, someone saved only 1-2 tracks out of 7 and down the line someone just made it louder to match it with other gun drop sounds
Listened to it in this video, it almost sounds like someone dropped a prop onto thick carpet, realized it was way too quiet, was too lazy to re-record it and just maxed the volume, without decreasing any other stat. Probably not what happened, but it's a fair guess imo
I think they literally did just throw one on the floor, but because its a really big gun they just didnt want to damage anything and threw a little padding down
siempre pensé que sonaba como soltar una pesa hecha de arena sobre cemento u otro tipo de piso, pero supongo que algo de sentido tendrá que la superficie sea madera
Csgo and other source one games have two impact sounds for physical props, one soft and one heavy, idk if s2 also has this or not or the Devs just made everything sound heavy for easier listening experience

I'm pleasantly surprised Jonathan Ferguson (the Keeper of the Firearms & Artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum) replied back with some help.

Oh yes, your plastic perforator absolutely sounds like a machinegun, you're right
@@KeksimusMaximus some perforator that were made out of metal were heavy though

3kliksphilip didn’t create the phrase. He just says it a lot.
“valve pls fix” is an old ass phrase my young child

I think all the guns need to sound the same when they’re dropped because I can tell when people are switching to my dead teammates ak
That's probably an intended feature.

Sound fits very well, i didnt know that there were people that questioned it.

Why did I thought I clicked on a 3kp video 💀

It is the Bullets in the mag that is ratteling
It's the brain (small) rattling in your skull (empty)
its true?
This changes everything
It’s probably bassy on purpose, so you can easily distinguish it from normal gun dropping sounds
maybe you shouldnt talk and play music over every time you show the sound
Valid point of criticism
The wood thing makes sense. No other gun dropping sounds in the game sounds like it's on wood, so that's probably why it sounds so out of place.

Valorants Negev has a lot of base in the drop sound maybe valve copy ?
Mic drop
this feels like a 3kliksphilip video
It sounds like spraypaint lol

YOU STOLE MY ONLY JOKE
You don't need an actual Negev to know how that sounds. The Negev weighs 8kg. Just drop an 8kg piece of steel on a concrete floor and you'll know.
What about the shape and all the moving parts and springs and hollow sections and such?

im so annoyed that every time you dropped it there was something else playing over it, now I have no clue what you're even yappin about!!
