Naomi is so beautiful, graceful, intelligent and dignified. My heart is broken that she felt such pain regarding her childhood and via her mother. And that she has passed away so tragically. The Judds are incredible, their music is timeless. I will always admire both these women so much 💗

I knew Naomi from her nursing at St. Thomas. She was a bonified bitch to have to work with. I was in nursing school at the time and she was not nice enough to help me in any day. I had to endure her back stabbing as well as others did. She was plain mean

This seems to be when the depression was rearing its ugly head much more severely for Naomi, yet seeing her here, it's very clear she is no longer the same person I've seen in the past 4, or 5 years. Depression is so evil, it literally destroyed this beautiful lady, who was intelligent, kind, compassionate, cared about others and put them bf herself. It breaks my heart what she went through, and how she suffered. Even while suffering, Naomi was brave and courageous, bc she shared her journey with the world, in hopes to help others. She was a true gem. Ioved her bc she was so real, never fake, and always her true self. Her inner beauty matched her outer beauty, and there was no doubt she loved Jesus, her husband, daughters and her fans. Rest In Heaven Naomi

Naomi should've ditched the therapist and solely trusted in God and Jesus Christ alone. If you see her on the 700 Club in 94 Naomi had it all together. Her past hadn't changed yet therapist mess up so many people by causing them to live in the past. On the 700 Club Naomi said doctors are not gods Medical journals are not bibles. I am convinced if Naomi had ditched that therapist she would be alive today.

Watching this after her passing is breaking my heart. Naomi had so much pain in her life, and deserved better. I feel like she was a prime example of having everything and it still not being enough, because it was all a temporary fix like a bandaid over a stab wound. Her wounds were so deep, I don't think they ever healed. Wherever she is now, I hope she's found some peace. Rest easy, Naomi.

They grew up together. Naomi was a kid. She needed love and support. She tried to get WY and Ash out of it....that doesn't change Naomi was torn apart. WY became everything. None of us can judge. I understand deep depression. It physically hurts and you believe others are better without you. At their last performance, Naomi's eyes were blank. She's always been the most alive and herself on stage. I don't think she could feel that anymore. She also her her major breakdown after the last tour. The ptsd ...the trauma ...the fear of going deeper into the depth and hurting everyone around you causes impulses. What we can do is send our love to these women and help change the stigma of mental illness. Love and peace to all.

@@RubyFleetwoodCactus I noticed that too, bf many were quick to judge and throw stones at Naomi. I just felt these same people probably didn't follow the Judds from the beginning of their careers in country music. If they had, they would of known Naomi was a loving Mom, who did the best she could at that time. I'm not saying she couldn't be tough on WY, bc she definitely was a bit controlling and overprotective, but she was no narcissist. She wanted the best for both her girls, and taught them a strong work ethic. There was no doubt she was very proud of them. Some people don't care about that, they are, as you stated, careless, thoughtless, selfish, fake people, who lack compassion and kindness. As the wise and beautiful Naomi would say "If I'd of known better, I'd of done better." She just got better with time

I was very turned off by the peer pressure for Naomi to pursue a relationship with her mom. As usual in a narcissistic family dynamic, the pressure is put on the child to constantly let go, reignite a relationship that never works, overlook their refusal to grow, make excuses about their childhood, playing on a sense of moral obligation, etc. People don't understand that these one-sided toxic relationships where you can never get your needs met but are hurt over and over again keep people stuck in a cycle of depression that Naomi ultimately died from. I never started to make strides in my depression recovery until I learned to detach from my narcissistic father. It's been freeing.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series despite knowing that beautiful Naomi is no longer walking on this earth. I see her hurting inner child and wished so badly that she could have healed the pain that overtook her.
I saw where her mother Polly passed away in 2019. I hope that Naomi kept trying and inviting her Mama to spend time with her.
Rejection hurts, no matter how old we are. I wish I had the type of mother-daughter relationship that Naomi gave her two daughters.
My Mother was mentally ill (I remember her being taken away by ambulance when I was 5 years old) and after her first psychotic episode, she did not return back home, ever the same.
She died young (in her early 60’s), and while I sometimes feel cheated, I know that I will see her again in heaven. This is my blessed hope: living with God in heaven, where all things (especially our bodies) will be made new and incorruptible!
Be kind to everyone and strive to do something thoughtful and unexpected to at least one person everyday! You never know who needs a touch of love ❤️ and what indelible memory that you will impart!
When I see Naomi in heaven, I plan on telling her that she touched many lives with her charm, honesty, and humor!!! She was also blessed to have a good man - Larry and her immediate family that LOVED her, no matter how imperfect they might have been.

I love the Judd's music, never realized how, as an entertainer, no matter what your mental focus is on, other than the moment performing, you must put on the show face for the audience. That takes strength and fortitude, and really self control, to hide your feelings, so you don't let your audience/fans see it. In this episode, I see how Naomi's feelings are very hurt from her mother not accepting her invitation to come and see her and grandaughter together singing one last time. Naomi cut her mother slack by not confronting her mother with truth of the hurt she was feeling. Yes, forgiveness is divine. But to give her mother the knowledge for understanding she hurt her feelings, is wisdom for forgiveness.

This is still a family with problems throughout their lives just like any one else. They are just trying to let the fans know who they are and where they came from and all. We all have things in our lives that are good and a lot bad that we have had to face and go through and still go through. I know I do. I do not know anyone that is so damned perfect that they never had to go through anything and face not so great times in their lives. So please just have respect for them and what they are trying to let their fans know about their lives. If you do not like it then DON'T watch these. They are good people. Now 55 years later, none of my family knows. I knew something wrong had happened but wasn't sure if it was my fault. I just went on with life and was able to let it go for the most part. If it had been a family member, it may have had a different ending.

Parentification is what went on. Naomi related to her children in a dysfunctional manner because it was the best she could do with the parenting skills she had. It was what it was and Wynona having a difficult time with the reality of it all. You cannot change the past no matter what. Do not water those weeds. If you think about it, Naomi had Wynonna when she was 17. She probably had a little resentment toward Wynonna because her childhood had to end sooner than her friends' childhoods did. I had a baby young myself and kind of grew up with him. I'm actually surprised I didn't resent him a little myself. I guess I just knew where the blame should be placed (on myself and my then boyfriend, later husband, now ex).

What a loving Larry he is. God Bless him. He is her rock. I hope Cactus is the same for Wy, he seems like he is. They both deserve loving, healthy male relationships. Parents do not understand the damage they do to their children when they don't show up emotionally & physically for their children and just be there for their kids. It's a pathetic shame & the damage proceeds through generations. Don't become parents if you don't wanna be ones. I know it was different mentality back then but no excuse nowadays. The family cycle & pathology continues & is sadly passed down. Our world is full of half time, once a week parents and we wonder why this generation of children is so emotionally & mentally messed up, scarred & rejected. At least these women are truly trying to change it & working harder than most people do in a day to not allow the past to continue to haunt them & affect their daily lives and relationships. They are truly courageous to peel back the layers; let alone on national tv. Most, would not have the guts to show themselves so raw & unexposed. They are not alone. Families are just like them all over. Kudos to them for being REAL and honest. I pray them healing & peace truly.

Naomi Judd’s relationship with her mother and her daughter reflects similarity I feel with my mother also my daughter. Very painful in both ways. I understand her pain is very deep and it won’t ever change either. As Wynona said, moms and daughters relationships are one of the most complex relationship! I loved my mom deeply but she’s managed to make my emotions scarred by things unsaid between her and I. Now it’s too late because she’s gone to that “other side” where spirits exist. But I’ve had the times with my daughter to connect with very deeply, however, I still felt unfulfilled feelings which mattered to us both. Now it’s too late with her also, because she’s joined her grandmother to the “other side.” Unfair, very very unfair that my daughters been taken away from me so soon! It should have been me first, not her! I am so anguished about that. It’s against the natural order! It should have been me first, NOT My Daughter!! What the hell is that!!!
Yes, so watching this series documentary subject, I do implicitly understand and sympathize with both woman’s points of view. I really do. Such deep complexity of emotions which can not be worded, even through the deep sharing, it is just too complicated.
Glad they are trying to work through it and try to connect before it is too late. Naomi’s mom seem very difficult woman, mine was also. You know the term “in spite of her nose” or something like that, that was my mother too. Perhaps it is the way it’s supposed to be, and it’s something deeply prevalent and cannot be something to be mended.
Mother, daughter, and the mothers mother…really is a complexion that’s meant to be. A woven spider web that is delicate but strong and just a bit of touch and it stirs all the way to its core. COMPLEX.

The quote is “some people will cut off their nose to spite their face.”
I was fortunate to have a wonderful caring mother but she could get obsessed with talking about wrongs done 60 years ago by her mother. She is in heaven and I got to read the Bible and play hymns for her in her final days at a hospice house. Before that I could only talk to her through the nursing home window because of Covid. Due to a stroke her language was garbled but the last few times I could talk to her she said “Jesus is all that matters” over and over in between incoherent muttering so I know God helped her work through some things before He took her. I had a poor relationship with my father so I don’t know which is worse. Bad father or bad mother?

Is it an Age thing? Why are people SO Surprised by this type of mother-daughter dynamic?
    This IS normal, by Generation...
Something, many will Never understand. Because, they DIDN'T Have to Live it... Some people are lucky, and, can process quickly, others, suffer for life, while attempting to protect those They Love. A person Learns "what love is"... from their Elders. I'm in my 40's, ... I was raised in the same basic times... I KNOW the pains, others will Never Understand.

This episode has made me cry. My mum is so much like your mum Naomi. At every turn were rejected cos our mother's are scared of not having control over us regardless of our ages. It's our job to make sure our children don't feel the way our mother's make us feel. Xxx

At the end of the day, their sh!t stinks just like yours and mine. Young Grace Judd here at 14 and on tour with her mother Wynonna, is now serving an eight year prison sentence for meth manufacturing and distribution (she's set to be released in 2024). Every family is subject to the human condition.

Naomi had everything but the one thing money couldn’t buy which was the love from her mother. She stated that her mother never once said she loved her. My mom would walk through fire for me. It seems like Naomi’s mother was her fire. I pray she’s finally found peace.

So many lessons here for me as a mother and my inadequacies as a parent for my children...of course time allows us to see the wrongs we are responsible for and the hope of making amends but I understand through some of this why my son is so broken. Great lessons here for us all...and for those with snide remarks about the "me me me syndrome" .. it is a docuseries folks...so THAT is the focus. Mocking their pain is exactly why you need to go find something else to watch...It is just disrespectful to mock anyone's pain. We all process it differently and over our own time...Blessings to the Judd's and my hope for them to find that place of peace they are desperately seeking.

I know how it feels to feel hurt.
My mom never wanted to raise me she never wanted to be a mom and because of her not being there and not wanting to be a mom that hurt me and I don `t see her as a mom. I was raised by my uncle from when I was born tell I was three years old, and from three years old to 19 years old I was raised by my grandfather and now he is 81 with a lot of bad health problems and he will be lucky to make it 2-3 more years.

I know - she lost her mom and her daughter is in jail. Her sister almost died and/or almost lost her leg last year. Her husband did lose his leg in a tragic accident she witnessed years ago. Major prayers/strength/hugs to Wynonna. And RIP to beautiful Mama Judd 💔💔
