You are 100% correct. And I wish there was a way to assure anyone going through it that you DO absolutely come through it all in time. Look for the lesson in it. Learn the lesson. Let go! BUT... when you're actually in the middle of going through it??? NONE of that stuff makes any sense! I just pray for anyone suffering. It's no fun 😞

Childhood trauma follows a person through life. Depression can be as terminal as a physiological disease; the ending just often looks different and is so very traumatic. Hugs and love to Wynonna and Ashley. I understand the anguish and confusion of their loss.🙏🏻🥹💙 May Naomi rest easy.💔

The cruel comments need to stop. Naomi and Wynona are human. No one is perfect. She struggled w depression as many in the world do. People deal with it in different ways. Some feel there is no way out. Whatever she did or how she did it doesn’t matter. She was an incredibly talented woman. It’s sad she’s no longer on earth. Fly high w the angels Naomi.

That family was a nightmare. Yes, all the stuff, rip, so sad, but if you know anything about the cycle of childhood sexual abuse, you will know that this was never a happy family, and Naomi became a complete narcissist. This woman manipulated her daughters, to believe they couldn’t survive without their mother, so this, will be a nightmare for them. Even though it was never really true. When a parent implants such beliefs in their own children, in secret, showing a very different side to the outside world, the child begins to doubt themselves, so deeply, they can easily become as consumed by their own insecurity as the parent who groomed them to believe it to be true.

I’ve read and listened to her audio book. She tried. Doctors tried. Her depression was so severe treatment resisted.
I saw the fear and look in their final on stage performance. People said very cruel things about how her face looked, because of medication no less.
My honest opinion, she became anxiety ridden. Disassociated. Manic. I truly believe she had no clue what was about to happen.

As a parent I try to do the best I can. my adult children resent me and I understand why because I resented my parents for their up bringing boiling over onto how I was raised. point being no parent is perfect and neither are the children we raise. we just have to try to work harder to fix what has been broken and try to break the cycle of damage.

@@jennieclement2811 yes to her husband of 33 years. Watch the hurt and worried expressions on his face when Wynona is treating his wife and her mother so horribly. He didn't know what to do. It was one of the last times Naomi was with her daughter and she crushed her mother's already crushed spirit. A few days later she committed suicide. Nothing can hurt a mother like her own so called child. And Naomi was already dying and on meds for depression. Wynona knew this and talked to her and treated her like trash? She had already abandoned her mother for 10 years in rebellion and that's love? I'll pass on that kind of love. Well Naomi bowed to her every wish and then committed suicide.

@@lc-bb6bd I know that. This was a LIFE time of rebellion and hitting her mother and cussing her out and treating her like trash. Now fast forward to the last time she was with her mother THIS year at a quick interview right before they were to go to their award ceremony. You could see Wynona mocking her and rolling her eyes at the audience behind her mothers back and making out like she had dementia (which she did not) and like she was crazy and she had that same chip on her shoulder she's always had. She knew her mother would see that interview OF COURSE. So a few days later Naomi was gone by suicide and never made it to her own award ceremony. Do you think that was a coincidence? Then fast foward to ONE day after Naomi was gone at the award ceremony. An actress relative got up there and did the crying then Wynona got up their and made fun of her mother again and was making everyone laugh then another guy got up there still laughing at what Wynona said and he said we have decided not to be sad but to have joy and we've BEEN having joy. Really? One day after her mother is gone she joking at her expense again and laughing and deciding to not be sad? Well it's pretty hard to pretend to love a mother she didn't isn't it? But she might just get that pretence going for more money for more attention and more spot light than she's ever had AGAIN at Naomis expense. She may or may not be able to pretend good enough no telling but a life time of things plus constantly fighting and hitting her mother when Wynona is big boned (you shouldn't hit your parent period) and then their last interview for the award ceremony and a day before the ceremony Naomi couldn't take the pain of her spirit being crushed anymore and ended her life here in this world and then Wynonas behaviour a day after Naomi was gone is very telling to say the least.

@@thomasmccaffrey264 Thank you. When a person can't communicate properly with the closest person to them..and no 'ill will' is intended..you need to look at what the barriers are. Autism answered EVERYTHING for us.
People are assuming Naomi was narcissistic and controlling with Wynonna..and perhaps she was most of her life..but I propose it wasn't due to narcissism. In most of these episodes you see WY nervous and high strung and ready to jump to defensiveness around Naomi..even though Naomi isn't intentionally trying to trigger her. She actually looks and acts cautious when WY is around. WY keeps saying how frustrated and hard for her it is. She's triggered easily.
So..What actually can be done if the person means no ill will...but gets 'shut down' every conversation because the recipient is sensitive and receives everything as negative? Is it up to the receiver to handle their own emotions and not project them back? I mean..if I tell you something that I see 'as truth' and mean no 'ill will', am I the bad guy if that is twisted into a negative by the receiver? If the receiver is a child then I believe it IS the responsibility of the adult to be aware of what being said could be perceived in a different way than what the intention is. But other adults? That seems unfair and breeds a person that 'walks on eggshells' because she is afraid of triggering others. It also forces you into defensiveness or shutdown because you become afraid to voice your opinions..even if they are out of goodwill..because you are constantly put down or assumed wrong or accused of things that just were not meant.
In the 2020 Christmas special Naomi seems broken, WY is the happiest I've ever seen her. I'm happy for WY...but it's heartbreaking 💔 😢

They are only human though and sometimes the stress of touring and stuff took it's toll on them. Try being famous and having everyone scrutinize your every move and every word. Those of you on here that are so critical of them, take a good look at yourself. Are you so flawless that under the same scrutiny you would come out shining? I imagine not. You missed the entire very overt, very obvious premise glaringly apparently to the rest of the world but once again, you missed it, the clarion call this time of “Reality TV” which is “Looka MEEEEEEE!” I don’t give a shit if you “met them” as their bidet-which would be the limits of your capabilities: No one appointed nor anointed you the arbiter of other’s opinions, experiences or morality. Take your self righteous crap and sit the hell down. You’ve just attempted to not at all covertly “diss” everyone else under the transparent guise of your own “goodness.” Busted.

I can understand this mother daughter thing. I lived with my mother for 32 years until she died and we had that mother/daughter love/hate relationship. There were times my mother put me down/ controlled me and so forth and yet we had that strong bond that nobody could understand because of the fighting we did.

Wow - I truly had no idea how much stress Wy was under till now - i feel her - I lost both my grandparents who I was close to a year apart from each other - my grandma in late April 2022 and my grandpa the following late April 2023 and then this year my little sister began her first year at the United States Naval Academy - I am so happy for her but it’s tough not having her home - I remember taking my finals before winter break and on the last day right after finishing my last test (luckily it was at home) I started bawling !! I just had so much running through my mind during the test and was so overwhelmed- God is So Good but sometimes he really challenges you - so far I’ve made it to January 2024 so now I can do anything!!

Growing up with a controlling mom that unknowingly wrecks your self esteem every 5 seconds does that to you… and it’s something you only understand if you’ve experienced it and I have. The fact that her mom was suffering too doesn’t mean her daughter was just supposed to take all her own hurt and pretend it didn’t exist. Hurt people end up hurting people. That’s the cycle

I feel for Wynonna because I was so belittled growing up I had no where to turn. I was abused and it messed with my mind for years. Once my dad passed it was bitter sweet but the weight came off my shoulders literally I lost 100 lbs. I began healing over other wrongs that happened to several relatives. Naomi, like so many adult survivors of childhood sexual, never made peace with the little girl, who needed to be loved, protected, and taught, how to become an adult. So, she hid the child and the secret, for years, and so, no one could ever really know her. She resented this, of course, deeply, and had to repress this as well. She was trapped inside herself, as a result of having to retreat from abuse, as it was the only place she was safe. But the same survival techniques she used as a child, which likely saved her life, never work, as an adult. But it is all she knew, and her safety, became her prison. It isn’t natural for any human, to have to be so insular, to simply survive. Naturally, it creates an abnormal sense of self absorption and deprivation. Without ever feeling genuine empathy from the people who were supposed to protect her, as a child, when the adult finally opened up about the abuse, the desperate child, could be freed, and could also completely consume snd overwhelm the adult, with “needs” to fulfill, that can never be fulfilled for the adult, in the same way they needed so badly, as a child. While it is very important for the adult survivor to open up, entirely, as a means of understanding so much about their behavior, and connecting the dots to make sense of the things, that never made sense to them before, too many therapists make the mistake of forcing the adult to relive the trauma so often, that the survivor builds their entire identity on their childhood victimhood. It is the last possible thing they need. They actually need to grow up, develop an understanding of accountability, to separate the pain from the abuse of the past, from the present moment. It is very difficult for adult survivors to recognize natural boundaries, as a result of having had their own boundaries, so horrifically violated as a child. They need to relearn how to develop boundaries, and to focus on developing empathy. As you can see here, both women are self involved, self absorbed, and the people around them, are simply “props”, or “witnesses” to their perpetual suffering. Each one fights for attention. Dwelling on themselves and their emotions, to such an extent, they are oblivious to the way they alienate the people around them, never showing a genuine interest in anyone other than themselves. Trying to heal a childhood wound, with the kinds of things, that would have fulfilled a child, won’t work for an adult. Whoever has treated these women, therapeutically, has failed miserably. These women, needed to learn how to empathize with others, as empathy is the one, healthy way, we are naturally distracted enough from ourselves to maintain balance. This is actually the only way an adult can heal, from childhood abuse. Reliving one’s childhood, repeatedly, as an adult, will never work. It is destructive to others, and terribly narcissistic. These two are so self involved, they don’t have time to notice anyone else, which causes them to be inconsiderate and selfish. The constant acknowledgment of their own emotional instability, in interviews, to themselves, and eachother, constantly characterize if their tragic lives, and their contentious relationship, simply serve as a drug, providing instant gratification, like a junkie. It is a cycle of repeating the trauma, over and over, to the point that it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. They surround themselves with passive people, who will put up with their crap, as they both project their drama, onto everyone around them, so selfishly and inexcusably.

    • @Jess-kn8vl
      @Jess-kn8vl 2 роки тому +2

This is really good, I agree. I have childhood trauma, but I went the other way into codependency and people pleasing behaviors. It also turns people away because I got enmeshed with their life and problems. Or I ended up resenting them. Boundaries are the key. I went no contact with my mother a few years ago and she still sends unwanted rage filled emails, letters and texts to my spouse. We are saving and documenting everything. Anyway, she is still trying to force that codependent thinking into me I just shake my head. Its an eye opener.
I was diagnosed with PTSD before I went no contact and was in therapy. I told her and her response was "you arent the only one". Meaning im not the only one with PTSD so how dare I get help and distance myself.

Thank you! This is the first time I have seen or heard of this show, and it is shockingly traumatic. The so called trauma and drama that *sells* this show stems from one fact: an inability to see outside of themselves, as you have thoroughly explained.
My heart is heavy for the loss they must embrace, now. However, seeing their relationship, based on this show, and the constant bickering about serious “first-world,” or Western problems is really really sad to watch. Honestly, I think most of the internal pain both of these LADIES exhibited could and should have been worked out yearsssss ago. But the horrific power of fame, wealth, and celebrity blocked the true forms of proper counseling and therapy both of these woman should have received long before they hit the road, or even after they hit the road, especially when the early signs of relational toxicity started to surface, in my opinion.
