My beautiful daughter had mental illness and she worked so hard to bring it to the attention that there should be no stigma about mental illness. She would often speak to a room full of people about her journey with mental illness and Jennifer passed away in 2013 from deep vein thrombosis a blood clot but she would be so proud of Naomi Judd had she tried to educate the public about mental illness and how hard she fought her own personal battle. 💔 love and will miss you Mama Judd.

I have to say that Wynona is such an amazing soul. I served in the Army for 13 years and always would go to the Indy 500 because my unit was in Indianapolis. I was standing at the fence by myself,in my uniform, just watching the cars go around when someone came and put their arm around me. I thought it was another soldier and I look to my left and all I see is red hair and Wynona said Hi soldier. I could’ve just fell over. She talked to me for a good 5 min and was the sweetest woman ever. Then the press noticed and I told her I didn’t want to be on the news and things and she said I’ll go away so they’ll leave you alone when all I wanted to do was talk to her for hours. She is such a sweet, beautiful, humble soul and I’ll never forget our meeting. It was truly precious. ❤️❤️❤️

So sad that Naomi’s gone. She suffered through so much, yet through dogged determination, she rose above what might have and did crush lesser talents. Not her. And then her two mega-watt talented daughters. Such good people who care about the world and those around them.Wynona with her fabulous voice will surely have continued success and keep her mother’s memory always near. Whether she tours and hits the high charts again or not, she has made it and doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone. And Ashley, what a special and talented actress. Like her mom & sis, she speaks her mind and is not afraid to let the world know what matters to her. I hope we can see more of her talented acting on the “big screen.” What an “American treasure” this family is.

Wynona, I didn’t know about my biological father until I was80 years old. My mother passed away at 46 and never told me anything. When Ancestry came about, I submitted my DNA and was match immediately. Unfortunately my dad passed away prior to Ancestry. I have met 3 half brothers and 1 half sister that are great. Not knowing who you belong to was hard. Now, my soul is at peace. I lost my oldest son to a heart attack in 2022. I have another son who gave me three beautiful granddaughters. In Feb 2024, I became a great grandmother. My husband passed away at age 36 and I am a happy single 84 year old. You mom did her best with what she had to work with. We all love you Wynona.

The good and the bad, what a beautiful and loving relationship Wynonna and Naomi really had. My Mom passed away in 2018. My Mom and I had good times and bad times, and no matter what we loved one another deeply and unconditionally. My Mom was my whole world. And I can see that same strong bond between Wy and her Mom. The grief of losing my Mom has been complicated, so deep. I'm praying for Wynonna. My heart breaks for her. I know she's gonna miss her so much. You lose a huge part of you, when you lose someone you love so much. Naomi was a beautiful soul. She shined. Saw The Judds in the 90s and what an amazing show it was. My heart goes out to Wynonna and Ashley. We will see our Mom's again one day in Heaven.

I never knew Naomi had deep depression, she seemed so happy. We just never know, what's on the inside of anyone. Life is hard, and with the Love of my Saviour I would have given up. He has 🐝 there for me through the hard times, he has shown me strength. If only I would of gotten into the music business back in 1977 when Charlie Lamb wanted to take me over to RCA and sign me on, I may have been there for Naomi , she was a beautiful, precious soul. I will miss her, it saddens me how she left this world.

Texas Tigress Designs don't worry about Wynona because she hadn't seen her mother in 10 years according to this video. I wouldn't call that love. Plus treated her horrible the last time she was with her and dropped her off on her front porch with her 2 suit cases in the freezing cold knowing she was sick and dying and just drove away. Poooooor pooooooor rebellious demon possessed Wynona. However you do seem to have a heart. I'm very sad about a LOT of suicides when the people were CLEARLY sending out every signal there is, saying I'm hurting more than I can bear please just love me. But she didn't get that love from her daughter. I've kinda kept up with these 2 for over 20 years and now I'm just watching the videos because of the very sweet classy lady Naomi that had unbearable pain but is the one that GOT her daughter where she's at. Wynona needs to remember that but I'm sure she won't.

While listening to this, I noticed every time Naomi was on, she was talking about herself; her pain; her trauma. When Wynonna talked it was about her mom, her career, the upcoming tour, her family. That is very telling to me. I hope they are at peace with each other. Relationships are hard. I can only imagine how difficult it was to be both mother & daughter & show business partners.

Naomi had some narcissistic qualities for sure. Anyone who has dealt long term with someone who suffers from mental illness, knows it takes a toll on you. Everything is always centered around that person and their wants, desires, etc. And if you don’t give them the attention they’re looking for, they will force you to by manipulating situations. Idk, it’s all very sad. Even in her death, her timing flipped the situation and made an amazing moment and accomplishment for the both of them, all about Naomi. My heart hurts for Wynonna

I so pray that these dynamic three find peace within themselves & within each other. Lord knows they have earned & truly deserve it. They are all survivors of a lot of torment & pain & that is the only reason they have these complex, difficult but loving relationships. Some have idealic home lives, two loving parents, stable home, etc., etc. but most haven't & it shapes how you interact, associate & communicate with each other and the world. At least they have recognized their triggers & know what sets them back and that is a feat. I commend their dedication & steadfastness. It's easy to judge them, think you know them, but you don't. You only know of them & what you think you know of them. They have given the world so much and it's ok to take care of themselves now. They are worth it! Compliments from her were far and few between.

I had the wonderful opportunity to have met Naomi and Wynonna on more then a few occasions, the type of work I was involved with allowed it in addition to many other public figures. The Judds were very pleasant, accepting, warm, easy to speak with, after all people in public eye are human just like us, difference is their job entails performing, more well known due to the nature of the job. The performance permits to take us away but if just for a moment in time to another world of forgetting our troubles, it does the same for the performer as well. Music is an exchange of energy of emotions between artist and audience, a slice of heaven where everything in the outside world is forgotten, a moment of blissful opportunity for us to be in touch with our feelings, sometimes the song touches a spot where we release tears, there's a fraction of healing in music and community of gathering. Music is emotions applied to lyrics, tones and melody, it's birthed out of emotions. Everything we do and create is birthed out of emotions.
My greatest hopes is we never forget, we don't ever have amnesia from what she struggled immensely with like millions of people do. The stigma of mental health has to be stopped. The brain can become unwell just like any other organ in our body. When a person is born with a heart defect, their lifestyle has to be different then a person born with a healthy heart, if not their life expectancy is shorter. If a persons family has chronic mental health in their gene pool, if they're exposed to traumatic events or succumb to trauma, likelihood of triggering setting off imbalance of chemicals in the brain and effecting central nervous system is high, sometimes it can never rebalance, even through extensive treatments, they're resistant to treatment.
Just as with a family with inheritance of diabetes, a family member can carry the gene however if they live a healthy lifestyle, odds are greater in their favor for gene not triggering.
If we knew a person had diabetes, we're not going to oblige in asking them if they want a piece of cake, we'd know it's harmful. If we evolve to a place where we can speak openly about mental health, we can arrive to a place a person can freely mention they have temporary or chronic struggles therefore it will change the approach in how we speak to them. If the cake would effect the diabetic, the nature of words we use and our tone would be accommodating to the person struggling with mental health. The word mental is a variation of the mind, it does not mean crazy, health is to do with condition. There's physical and mental health.
What would happen if a person felt shameful sharing with anyone they had a broken bone, they felt so utterly shameful they kept it a secret, because of the shame they didn't want to visit a doctor? It goes untreated, means no healing. In able to freely share, they'll get advice from a family member, friend or even a stranger. They'll be concerned about how it happened, how much pain they're in, and advise to go to the ER or doctors. By not having "shame", they're freely able to share, therefore able to have support and treatment from a doctor. Family and friends will offer support to help with necessities if they're immobilized. As long as there's "shame"/a stigma around mental health, it means a person doesn't share the thoughts they struggle with, don't express their feelings, they either hide as much as they can, either behind a smile or behind closed doors, which follows not seeing a mental health doctor, equals no treatment, which could manifest into decline.
Addictions which is self medicating to numb and escape feeling certain emotions, is from burying trauma, in addition trying to cope with life stressors, "not in all cases", sometimes it's rooted in people that have a very sensitive disposition, they're sensitive to energy, they feel extremely deeply, it's the nature of whom they are. There's some coping tools they can adopt to help navigate in the unfortunate reality that our species can be harsh, but their personality won't alter, it's part of their gene pool. We wouldn't want to try and strip someone of who they are, it's like breaking into a persons house and stealing.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with being sensitive, as far as feeling deeply goes, there is a problem if our sensitivity is projected in a way it inflicts harm upon another person. Feeling deep in this world, having sensitivity is perceived as a weakness for most part, because our species is still operating from the survivalist mode, the mentality of the strong survive, survivalist perception is "strength" (most popular and powerful, wealth, status, most awards, most intelligent, talented, most attractive, biggest house, etc.... it's superficial, not genuine in the least capacity), we shouldn't ever have to feel loved or worry about survival based off our appearances, accolades, wealth, talents, the survivalist paradigm BRINGS out the worse in our species, which in return creates trauma upon each other. We were raised more on how to survive rather then raised on how to love. We've been living on a stage for generations performing, scared to show reality of ourselves, out of fear survival. We're overly competitive against each other due to fear for survival. Until we evolve into freely accepting our "humnaness" completely = able to discuss our burdens, trauma, our struggles, our shadow side/our flaws, our insecurities birthed from wounds, etc...., we'll not be able to heal collectively, therefore not evolve. Healing is done when we share, when we heal or at least manage the wounds our wounds will not project onto others, if they do bleed, at least we'll have the tools to resolve issues or reconcile. I understand fully it's frightening sharing the most intricate and delicate parts of ourselves within a species that perceives sharing the most human aspects of ourselves as weak, fear being taken advantage of, or looked at strangely, fear of rejection or abandoned from family, friends or society, but if want a healthier and loving species we'll have to. Our forefathers and mothers took leaps of faith and big risks before us to get us where we are today, we're here because of them, and one day future generations we'll be thanking us for taking risks. I'm not implying for us just to share with anyone, we must not do anything we feel will put us in harm's way, it be mental or physical, and also certainly must not do it if we're not ready, but if ever ready and safe to do so would be wonderful, if not ever ready it's ok too, doesn't mean weakness whatsoever, it's a personal right and choice, there's reasons known to person they don't feel comfortable doing so.
❤As Mrs. Naomi Judd stated in lyrics : "Love can build a bridge, between your heart and mine, love can build a bridge, don't you think it's time, don't you think it's time"
    YES IT'S TIME ❤🌉❤
I thank Mrs. Naomi for all that she's contributed to the world. I'm so incredibly sorry for her years of struggling the internal fight. ❤ 🕊
Where there's love, we will survive. The old survivalist mode needs to be said goodbye to. When there's love it opens the door to our humnaness. It will provide to us the experience and emotions just like we do when surrounded together before the music.
My deepest love and condolences to Wynonna and Ashley, their family and friends. My heart breaks for her daughters and grandchildren. They'll be in my thoughts and well wishes of comfort. ❤🕊

I love my mom but I think having a business with her and living with her would be very very hard. What we need to remember always is that mothers are human too and have demons as most of us do. Sad over the loss of Naomii and hope the family takes time to heal from this. I also feel a little sad for Ashley who was always in the background (although she managed to find success in her own right). That must be pretty hard, too.

So sad to hear of Naomi passing away. I think many people forget that almost all families have some form of dysfunction including celebrities. Celebrities coming out and being so open and honest and really putting their hearts out there for all to see is so helpful for so many. God bless the Judd's and their families and friends during this extremely difficult time. May God help you all ride the waves of grief. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Exactly. When it's good with my mom, it's great. When it's not, look out. We both have depression and have been medicated for years so can relate to this story. There's something unnatural about grown children spending that much time with their parents IMO. We're meant to "leave the nest" so to speak. So sad to hear of Naomi's passing.

Kudos, to Wynonna for having the courage to have a "Do Over" with herself & Momma. You can't make an OLD Leopard change her spots....so know just her "trying" is a miracle. I am praying for you two to get inner peace from "trying" to do this mother/ daughter thing better. "Listening" to each other is the hardest part. Also, knowing yourself is key. Respecting each other as adult women & agree to dissagree..then huge hugs anyway! Love you guys, stay safe & sound. A Nashville girl here myself. ( forgiveness maynot always mean forgetting...but it can come with letting it go.)

Naomi was a beautiful, fragile, big hearted lady. A true lady. She reminds me of a fragile bird who needed to be protected. Her big loving heart killed her. It broke.😪

No one knows how difficult it is to raise 2 daughters alone but another mother who has had to do it. Naomi was putting herself through college (no mean feat) and she had these incredibly talented, beautiful daughters. Many many mothers simply don't have the energy to climb that mountain required to see their hard work and talents come to fruition. Because Naomi sacrificed herself in so many ways (including her health), and now both daughters are famous and out of the hand-to-mouth spiral, each of the daughters should consider why they are where they are. They did not get there alone. Naomi faced incredible odds with dignity and tenacity. Kudos, Naomi! Love does find a way, when one accepts and gives love.

This right here! Naomi didn’t heal and did take things out on Wy at times BUT look what she overcame. She kept climbing and the girls would not be where they are without their mama.

Naomi I wish you were here so you could see this message. Thank you for saying that your relationship with your dad was different than what your mom knew. My girl's are grown and I now share my opinion about their dad. I just realized, when you said it, that that's their dad. WOW, what a profound moment I had.

I took care of Wilbert the step dad of Naomii do believe when he was in a facility for physical rehab. He was the kindest man no attitude they warned us about not ever asking him about the Judd's. One day I was helping him and he was talking about missing driving his truck. And how he has a really cool cd player in it. Without thinking I said so is country music your favorite? I turned around with out a word he was laughing he said honey I know what rules they told you it's ok I won't tell you asked if I like country music and to answer your question yes it's my favorite! 😜 I just loved him

Long time fan ... saw them do a surprise performance at The First Lady's Luncheon with Laura Bush as keynote where I was a guest the first year Bush Jr. was in office. Was a delight!
"We put so much emphasis on controlling and being right, that we forget to be loved" - Wynona - what a remarkable and healthy truth that is. Great to see insight into their very human and complex relationship. Bless them for trying to make this tough dynamic work - especially living next door to your mom ... Naomi has had to deal with her own pain and issues, and grow up a bit in order for that things to to tick. Wynona is a strong lady - much much respect and LOVE her just the way she is ... she has a golden voice and beautiful soul. I understand Naomi's struggles ... it's not easy to be groomed by a family predator as a very young girl that produced the issues she had to deal with - it is a paying forward type of survival instinct to then try and control another person. That farmer background is something I grew up around and out of, so I get it ... the mentality of that generation could be, in some cases, not all, primitive and strange. Tough stuff to look back on and know you were affected by it ...
