I don’t know, I feel like the buildup for the Su-27 and the F-15 could’ve been done better than this. The F-16A’s release was so hype inducing. I didn’t quite get the same feeling from this one.

Can I just say big props to the team behind these trailers, the last few we have got have been amazing and this one is the best yet!
It’s like they hired a bunch of game developers and shit, and then by accident figured out they absolutely ballin in this one department, which is why the quality is leagues above everything else in this game.
they hired Pandramodo, who is well known for his excellent fan-made trailers.

Nah, he was just locked onto the middle one and moving the camera around to look at the others, we can already do this in game
The Mirage 4000 is an interesting addition as it was aimed at being a direct competitor to the F-15, the problem was nobody wanted to buy it but the one they built could carry a lot of missiles.
Also it looks like an early F-15, so an 'A' model which would be sparrow and sidewinder loadouts rather than AMRAAM's.
The Gripen will also probably be an 'A' model so not as capable as the more modern 'E' version but stil pretty agile.
Could be an early C too. It didn't get the 120 till the 90s
they confirmed the gripen earlier this year to be the C variant

About the SU-27 and the F-15 being so far apart. I wanna make it known that in 1972 Suhkoi did have a flying prototype and it's known as the T-10 Flanker-A. Pavel Suhkoi passed away before it took flight. So when the new guy took over they decided to completely redesign the aircraft from the ground up. Btw we should get the T-10 Flanker A as a crafting event vehicle
The su-27 was built off of stolen f-15 plans, so that's probably why they completely redesigned it later on.

The F-15 had a much smoother development period and let’s be real here, combat record. Ineptitude within the Russian government slows major projects down considerably. It took 30 years to make a SU-27 equivalent of the F-15E and its modest at best.

Mirage 4000 stands for the fact that it is two mirage 2000 engines powering it ( 2000 + 2000 = 4000 )
Twice the Mirage 2000 engine power for a plane that is less than twice the Mirage2000 weight.

@@Sten05 Same idea, but product improved: a *LOT* more power, better handling, better radar from simply being 25% larger so they could cram a larger & newer radar into it, and a metric (literally) shitton more weapons.
@@monke1374 Its not crazy, the SU27 will have 10 missiles (27ET/R and R73s) which are all better than the french versions (Magic 2/ 530Ds) so 14 worse missiles vs 10 god tier missiles seems fine to me, especially if theyd finally buff the Magic 2's flight performance (50g, less drag, etc).

The Russian missiles you looked at were both variants of the R-27 family of missiles. The ones on the wings with the squared winglets are likely the R-27ET and the ones on the inside are R-27ER, These are both amazing missiles and are super fun to use (in DCS cause this update isnt out yet for WT)
I'm assuming you probably meant R-27ER because the R-27EM was a ARH vareint of the 27 that never entered production
Wouldn’t be the first they they gave Russia something that never went into production as a tech tree item for Russia.

This was the most touching trailer yet. I paused when I saw the F-15 default skin was the 1st Fighter Wing. Granted, I was in the 27th Aircraft Maintenance Unit and not the 71st (The skin on the F-15), it felt so personal and reminded me of the history in that Wing and the times I had with those folks. Also Phly, the Yellow/Orange bar indicates explosive inside. A training missile will have blue bars around them indicating they're just training missiles, no explosives.
For future refrence phly, the < and > keys scrub the video frame by frame, might help with getting and looking at a specific frame

The missile you were looking at was an R-27 variant. You can tell by the design of the forward winglets.

Having a 12 year age gap helps a lot but if they give the aim120 to the F15 it'll atleast even out.

@cnonevil there is no russia bias, did you see what gajin did to the mig 29s turn preformance? It's the most under-preforming jet in game now , it turns like a truck despite the fact that it gave the F-16 a run for its money irl in the merge.

I haven’t been this hyped in a while for a trailer! Honestly so glad to see the F-15/M4K and gripen and especially the SU-27 instantly recognised it from the thumbnail, so glad to see it finally added!
This is probably just a concidence, but I choose to believe that the radar code thingy in the intro sequence containing specifically "39G" is a reference to the Gripen, since its designation in the Swedish Air Force is JAS-*39* and the first letter of its nickname is G.

Mirage 4000 is going to be the sleeper jet if it gets the 14 missiles it could mount, I don't think anybody would expect it to have so many loaded late in the matches when this thing can shine because it's not nearly low on ammo. It'll also be Frances best CAS vehicle, to finally bring France on par with most other nations. It's basically the predecessor to the Rafale, both are multi-role.
Gaijin said Eurofighter isn't coming any time soon, we don't even have Rafale which is the step past the Gripen in terms of delta aircraft technology.

the mirage 2000 5f is already a top 3 cas plane but this will still be better because of the amount of guided bombs the m4k can carry
@@BaATep my only problem with it is that it doesnt have as much munitions as other vehicles, which the 4k does have, 2k5f is great for CAS but just doesn't have much quantity compared to other competitors, especially in unguided munitions and weight capacity

Those are sidewinders under that first F-15 shot. They can carry the big 2,000 GBU-15 glide bombs with a rocket assist motor though under that main rail. Common misconception about the F-15 A-D versions is that they can’t carry air to ground stuff. Not so. They can carry bombs but were rarely used in American hands. The function was there for 10 years before the strike eagle came out and became standard. Our museum now has a F-15 and SU-27 next to each other.

I abhor seeing air to ground munitions on a light grey. But man the Eagle is sick. Also love that in real life it’s so OP that they had to release it after all of the jets that came after it and with the competitor that didn’t show up for a decade after it had been in service.
Also- the eagle isn’t gonna have AMRAAMs until later. The Eagle underwent the MSIP upgrade program in the mid-80s that featured several avionics upgrades, a radar upgrade to the AN APG-63 V1, new RAW gear, and allowed the Eagle to start carrying the AIM-120A (which would come later down the line in the 90s). Though I don’t know how accurate war thunder is being since they’ve got GBUs strapped to a light grey eagle.

The F-15A can carry AIM-9L/M Sidewinders and an advanced form of the AIM-7, most likely going to be the M for War Thunder. The AIM-120 came into the loadout later, my guess is that it will make it into the game with the addition of planes like the F/A-18 and the F-15C. When they add the AIM-120 they are also going to add the R-77 to the Russian/Chinese trees to combat the performance of it.
Another step towards shooting amrams from an f35, my friend.

The colours on the missiles are standard nato munition markers. Yellow for high explosive (warheads) brown for low explosive (rocket motor) and black for armour defeating. Not sure there is an orange, it’s just yellow from different lighting/angle

The Jas 39 Gripen (Griffin) was introduced in 1996 so I wouldn't be surprised to see the AIM-120 soon, until then I suppose it will have the AIM-9. Even though through personal bias love the JAS 39, I do absolutely adore the Sukhoi series of jets.
You are getting your missiles confused. The ones on the F-15 early in the video that you were looking at are probably Aim-9L's. The SU-27, that is just radar versions of the R-27 on the belly. The ones on the wings are IR versions of the R-27 with R-73's @7:30. The bombs on the right wing of the F-15's at @2:10 are GBU-8's
As for the color bans on the missiles. These color are standardized on all the weapons on US aircraft.
Yellow = live warhead
Brown = live motor
Blue = inert
Looks like the T-90M is joining the game now also.

I haven't even unlocked my first jet... but I will struggle to resist the premiums that may come with this patch.
I suggest that IF you were to buy a premium, that you'd wait for the next big sale for top tier premiums, and to look out for a lot of videos about how to use your missiles, setting up keybinds and knowing how to use energy. As for jets the F-4S is pretty decent. Mirage F1-CT is something I'd pass since it's awful loadout and energy retention and slow acceleration even though it's got the Magic 2 missile at 11.3 now, which are amazing, Mig-23ML is also quite capable with 4 x R-60M and 2 R-24R/T's. The J-35XS is the only aircraft I don't know the performance of but UA-camrs keep saying it's one of the best premium aircraft to buy. But whatever you do, do NOT buy the new teased Tornado, since those aircraft are quite bad and hard to use for a beginner. Have fun flying :)

the projectile that was on the F-15 wing pylon looks like it maybe an AIM-9 Sidewinder could be an AIM-9X
it was a 9L it said it on the missile head at 7:27 which really sucks since the SU-27 is carrying R-73s
