@@hypeflexington7081that's probably why he said a toddler. A kid can hold and fire a gun, a kid with a machine gun wouldn't be able to lift and aim it. Much like he wasn't able to fire his missiles that would have completely obliterated defyn as soon as he lost countermeasures

@@Korxionalso the f16 turns at 8g at any speed, so staying fast made him not get guns on target
it not about the plane, it about the pilot
F16 performs really well at around 500 mph
@@abroamg Drop to 800-750 kph and you can pull 10 and get guns on everything you want. But this guy obviously cant do much aside from fly in a straight line
When I thought noob I didn't think noob to the level of never flying a plane in War Thunder at all before. Damn. How is that even possible with the amount of hours you have.

I'm just slightly above its level and i've played for years, just tanks only and only like an hour every once in a while. Warthunder is a very hard game to master, it litterally tells you NOTHING and if you dont go out of your way to learn stuff you can spend a large amont of hours withoud getting good

I've installed WT for the first time in 2017, been playing on and off since then yet its still hard to master bc I switch between Naval/Air/Ground frequently, I sucked at Air extremely until 2 years ago when I found out that I should customize my controls and when I did I got noticeably better, a factor that not a lot of players count, controls matter a lot.

Also for the missiles, the tone will change when it obtains a solid lock. Then you can fire, as long as the target is within the circle and you move in the direction of the target. As for the gun, you won't get a hit from 2km out, unless you aim up. And might try this again, but use the speed and agility of the F16 to do boom and zoom attacks. Sticking to a 1 circle fight down low is what go you killed more often than not. More speed, more maneuverability.
I dont think telling a noob to stop doing 1-circles is very helpful. I didn't even know what that term means for the first 2000 hours of playing the game, and he surely won't either. Even BnZ might be too far already.

A 1 circle is where both you and your enemy follow the same direction of turn, making a single circular shape with your combined flying. This is as opposed to a 2 circle, where both players turn in different directions to try and get a shot on the other, with each drawing their own turning circle.
No, the problem was not once did he figure out that to get a lock you need to put the enemy IN the small circle to begin with. He thought it was just completely automatic.
I now wanna see a series where Defyn teaches muffin to not be a complete noob

Try this with tanks sometime!! It would be super interesting to see if a noob in a BVM can reliably beat an experienced player in a T-55 or something.
tanks r way more intuitive than top tier jets, i dont think it would work tbh
ive beaten bvm's with panzer 4s. Just turn off your engine and ambush them through the side.

The reason why you where able to turn btter when you lost control is due to you losing a lot of speed allowing much better turning, mainly due to how gaijin made the flight model for the f16 allowing for it to turn way better at subsonic speeds, so no it wasnt a placebo you where turning better 😂.

that is because the f-16 is a rate fighter. it's best turn speed should be around 400-450 knots if i recall correctly. that is for rating though. not sure how well that is modeled in this game.
Plus he was on burner the whole time lol. so that pushed his speed way to high to fight slower planes and to slot in properly. but as said in the video title, total noob vs a pro lol.
@@Omnidestrophicrate fights aren't subject to speed. MiG19 and F5 were designed to rate at transonic speeds, F-16 is a very unstable aircraft and has an AOA limiter to avoid over pulling at high speed
@@kingghidorah8106all modern aircraft have an aoa limiter. That’s how the F-16 beat the F-35. They were still calibrating the F-35s limiter and it set to max

Couple minor errors:
7:28 P51H-5 is 6.3 not 3.3
8:38 BF109K is 5.7 not 2.7
it probably depends on what game mode theyre playing in, if its realistic or arcade
@@brianhopkins5441 Still not correct then, seems to me he just pressed the buttons underneath the 5 and 6, which is 2 and 3 on the numpad. Either fat fingered it or was too tired to notice.
Probably got confused with earlier variants like the c10
there are other variants of this plane like the p51c
He might’ve been using the P51 with the 20mm, it is a 3.3 in air realistic
i like how he knows so little about flying a plane he thinks passing out is making him turn better but it's actually the speed plummeting because you fed all your potential energy into a woodchipper
I don’t know why, but I really want to teach him how to play some top tier nets and teach him missle and radar mechanics. That just feels like it would be fun to show him how it all works.

I remember he invited me to his house and he wanted to teach me how to use jets (im a sucker at 6.3BR).
To simply put it, it was like explaining a 16 century peasant kpop, he would just die.

Your missiles weren't locking because you weren't aiming them. The small circle is the locking area and the big circle is the the area where the locks doesn't get lost after locking. You activate the missile, point the small circle at the aircraft and if it stops flashing, you can launch it
Holding WEP the entire time means youll always be turning as slowly as possible. The reason turning seemed better when you blacked out was because the plane lost almost half its speed each time. Slower speeds = higher turn rate but dont go so slow that you stall
For heatseekers, point the little circle in the big circle at the enemy and wait for the tone to change, that's when it's locked. You can also use your radar which, if locked on (use the box thing defyn was talking about), will point the little circle at the enemy automatically. Then same thing about waiting for tone then launching.
To be fair heatseekers have a really hard time locking onto props
It amazes me how he still turns into his enemy's sightline even if he is faster. I'm a noob too, but since I've learnt to just build distance when I mess up a run, my matches go a lot better.

As an American who plays warthunder I use the default metric system cause I used it for so long before knowing I could switch that I just keep it that way, besides I’d rather know my speed in knots then mph anyways

Bro didn‘t even trieded to lock him with a missle. Tipp: the AIM9L is all aspect and you need to put the inner circle on target in a range of 3-5 km
not really, it won't lock a prop at all over 1km, they are too cold
So awesomen and glad you brought defyn. I definitely think he's the best pilot. Hilarious and its weird at the same time you flying the f16 and not know the controls or how to fly but still hilarious in a good way of course.

To be fair. The F-16 is probably the worst top tog plane for a newb. The physics change so drastically for certain airspeeds (unlike in real life) every other airframe loses speed and gets AOA (Air drifting)
Imagine Defyn continues to teach him and we see the results like 2-3 months later playing almost as good as Defyn. It would honestly be satisfying to see him go from playing this bad to like "whoa whos that"

One little thing though, the P-51 DEFYN flied is at an BR of 6.3 if I remember correctly. It's the P-51H-5. Also the Bf-109 was the K variant which sits at 5.7 or 5.3.

Bit of mistake on the P51 and Bf109 BRs... those were 6.3 P51H and 5.7 Bf109K, rather than 3.3 and 2.7 respecitvely - the first models of said plane are those BRs, not the ones Defyn was using.
fun tip to avoid losing control in a turn: feather your pull down button, for me its control and it allows me to turn very sharply for a prolonged amount of time. also you don't turn faster when you lose control
Defyn being such a gentleman dogfighting. Actively hurting himself in the aircraft he could do well in so noob could have atleast somewhat of a chance to hit him.
I have noticed that for most of the dogfights you kept your afterburner on. If you want to turn better you should brake and slow down during dogfights

Mustang has so many advantages here. Problem is there’s no reason a good F-16 pilot would be caught by him and want to take that fight. But here our unfortunate noob is essentially forced to turn.

Its really nice to see defyn laughing, we dont see that in his videos.
Learning how to use the missiles and basic aerial tactics would have ended this video far sooner. I am not good at aerial combat and I don’t think I would have fared too well admittedly, however Muffin should have utilized his speed advantage to put distance between him and Defyn, and use just the missiles. The F-16 can outrun most of these planes except those closer to top tier.
Honestly as soons as he dropped from the mig he had no counter to sparrow, and so much speed and thrust difference that he had no hope of actually dodging, especially since this is 1v1 and you don't have to use your missiles sparingly.

F16 best maneuvering is under 800km/h, and you can easily got a 11g turn, use flap and air break to reduce speed and use your radar and CCIP to get the aim, use SRC scan since he doesn't have chaff, and if you have aim7, that's another story

My dad used to say" it's not the plane it's the pilot" since I was 6 didn't believe him untill top gun2 came out.
I've been playing flight sims since i was eight and it never occurs to me how unintuitive flying can be lol, it's everyone's natural impulse to fly directly at your target and try to move in straight lines.
Fun fact: the 1.7 br he-100 is a better dogfighter then most jets in arcade.

Although the only aircraft I'm struggling to kill is the F-4 phantom the bloody just doesn't die.

Fun fact, the only time I've ever won against an F-16 in a fight, I was flying the A-36.
I've shot down some weird stuff with the A-36, such as a Harrier, some Ka-50s, an F-14, multiple Sabres, a Russian radar missile, and whatever the French top tier heli is.

Good vedio..this remind me 4 years ago when i tried to turn fight enermy player bi-plane with my P-51 and ended up losing.
I mean Smigol is out there dominating whole teams with his prop
This is less like "i can bench press 10x than you" and more like "i can run a marathon while you're still a toddler crawling and crying for momma"
u have to center him in the middle circle and then when u think it locked (itll follow him after a successful lock) launch the missile
I have beater multiple mig 21s and f16s plus warthogs in the BF 109 F4, most of the time I loop around them in a dive and get to an intersection point where I kill them with an small spray of bullets and to evade missiles, well let’s say there’s a lot of “evasive action”
Also killed a dozen of low tier American jets.
Tbh it might get a little harder for the f-16 when the pro gets to propeller as he was using neat seeking missiles not radar and so it will take longer to get a lock (as prop planes produce less heat) and if the pro always can see the f-16 he can just shoot him as long as the f-16 doesn't just fly away
assuming war thunder actually models this stuff properly (it doesn't) it's actually surprisingly hard to get a lock on most ww2-era fighters with anything other than optical guidance: they don't run hot enough to differentiate them from a car or whatnot so most air to air missiles will refuse to lock on them even if they can see them and the only part of the aircraft that really reflects radar is the engine itself which has basically zero flat surfaces so while they aren't in the same category as purpose-built stealth aircraft they do have radar cross sections that make seagulls producing false alarms suddenly seem a LOT less nonsensical, sooo, yeah. it's actually only relatively recently that a jet would have good odds of being able to fire a missile at something like a p51 let alone a largely cloth and wood design like an early-gen spitfire without external targeting support. couple that with the fact that even now a jet is NOT winning a turnfight with most of the lineup of that era and it really does turn into a "skill matters" situation.
short version of how that works? a jet can NOT win a dogfight with a prop fighter and a prop fighter can NOT win an energy fight with a jet...most of them anyays, that first generation or so of jets were kinda crap to be honest.

Me and my friend actually play matchups like this since he bought an A4E early. Basically every time we play, he challenges me to a dogfight. My best plane is the P36 but he is such a bad pilot that I win most of the time anyway
