Can't go wrong with any of the songs on that album, but Lazy, Space Truckin' and especially Highway Star will bring the fire...don't play them in your car unless you're prepared to get a speeding ticket. Been there and done that too many times.
Btw, here’s a few more from the Purple catalog since you asked. Burn, Storm bringer, Highway Star and one that’s always on my playlist, Perfect Strangers. All studio cuts.* John Lord on the Hammond Organ is the one person that made this group different from everyone else. (No disrespect to all other members. Their talents remain uniquely special) 🤘😎
Helene here. I agree about Lord. Strangely enough….i love organ in classic music and jazz….but never liked it in rock. It was the main reason I was NOT a fan of DP…or The Doors….as much as I was of Zep. I guess I don’t want my filthy guitars and bass “diluted” by other instruments when it comes to the hard rock genre. Weird I know….
Yeah Zay, Burn, Lazy, Highway Star, are just a few to get you primed for the many great songs Deep Purple has! Looking forward to seeing your reactions to their many driving rock songs! Smoke on the Water was one of their more "rock ballads" and true story songs that was a bit more laid back. Keep rocking it buddy!!
Excellent album.. excellent song….. “Frank Zappa and the Mothers. Were at the best place around. But some stupid with a flare gun. Burned the place to the ground.” Interesting story about the fire at a casino in Montreux Switzerland.
Nice choices from a well informed group you’ve built. Congrats and shout out too Zel and the family of music aficionados that don’t seem to dry up. Love the channel and the reactions. Regards
you can tell sometimes how old we are, we still use the word "album" when refering to any recording from back in our day...when an album was really an album...Rock ON!!
This song was a true story. Every line you heard in that song actually happened to the band, just a day or two before they wrote and recorded this song.
My favorite Deep Purple tracks: -Child in Time -Highway Star -Space Truckin' Glad to see yet another great band on the channel! I know probably only younger millennials will know what I'm talking about, but every time I hear Highway Star, I think of the intro video to the first Rockband video game. I wish I could be you, Zay, and experience these songs for the first time again. EDIT: Congrats on 5k subs!
Ok DEEP PURPLE!!!!!👍 NEXT YOU NEED TO HEAR (HIGHWAY STAR)!!!!! By the way, SMOKE ON THE WATER is about somebody with a flair gun burned down a casino in Switzerland, WHILE FRANK ZAPPA WAS PERFORMING!!!!!
And the casino was where they were supposed to record machine Head.. that’s why they ended up at the grand hotel..they put mattresses on the walls for sound proofing and ran the cables through a window to The Rolling Stones mobile recording studio.
@@vickieray love doesn't get it exactly, for me. Heard Smokin' @ Sears in the boys clothing section they had a jukebox I put quarters in to hear it. Loved it , obviously.
Ritchie Blackmore..guitar virtuoso !!! Zay...you gotta check out another Guitar Virtuoso..Eddie Van Halen's Eruption Guitar solo from the dvd..Live Without A Net !!! His Eruption solo will melt your face !!
You should have heard the album version! Another thing you should know - back when this song was originally released in the early 70's on 45 rpm record, the live version was placed on the other side of the record. Both sides got radio airplay and propelled the record into the #1 spot on the Billboard Singles Chart, making the record a double sided #1 hit!
Excellent musicians. Deep Purple was dubbed one of the three bands in the so-called “Unholy Trinity”…..the bands that were considered by some to have been the beginnings of metal. The other two being Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. I don’t agree, but many do, so you should at least be aware of it. You can form your own opinion as you go along.
Hey Helene, nice to see your comments again. Great observations of the “Unholy.” God their still great. Love the many channels of new listeners catch all this greatness from our youth. Btw, Henriettas’ Zeppelin comments just keep adding the most interesting reads ever. Still wish I could convince her too “saddle up” and start her own channel. Lol. Be well, Ron
@@ronaldelliott4373 hi there! Yeah…it’s great…I keep seeing familiar names popping up on various channels. Syed is doing a great job. Most intelligent reactor since Wayne I think. I agree about Henrietta……sometimes I’m tempted to comment, but figure…nah…..she’s got it covered. 😁🤘from what I know…between working and kids, she’s got zero time for a channel….but I would love it!
Not Surprised this one is Familiar. That opening Guitar Riff has GOT to be the Most Recognized, and Play Ever I believe! At one time there were Stadiums Full of People with Guitars playing this Guitar Riff! That was in the Late 90's, early 2K . I'm sure they had one, or Two other hits, but I wouldn't know! I'm a ZEPPELIN Fan! 😁 Good Reaction! 👍 Until next Time! Peace,& Love ✌️
Awesome song but you need to hear one with more keyboards in it, Jon Lord was a genius. A couple of good ones are Child in Time, Fireball, Demon's Eye, Burn, Highway Star, or Strange Kind of Woman
sup, gotta be the most played and i think one of the best rock songs ever. definitely the most played riff. every guitar player tries it. i'm teaching it to my grandkids right now. i got one learning the keys and one on guitar, me on bass and we ought to have it down in a month or so. lmao.
You are listening to some real great classic music, especially from the 70s. I have a suggestion from the early 80s on. First the band U2, the album the Joshua Tree. Second, Dave Mathews Band album Crash. Then go back to the Allman Bros. Keep branching out, so much to explore! Don't forget to continue exploring Rush, especially in the 1970s. God bless
@@zayzel2670 ok,,just did. You might wish to check out the channel The Thamesmen. One guy us in LA and the other is in San Francisco . They post almost every day together! You could just see how they do it. It’s a possible work around if you’re interested. 😁
*Deep Purple - Burn (studio version)*
Those British rock bands just too good 🤘
Drummer Ian Paice is a master....their song Lazy is classic too
Paice held it all together
"Hush" is also an absolute banger.
Another band that l saw in concert back in the days, my favorite song of their's is "Lazy ", hope you listen to that one next
The live version from Made in Japan is incredible.
Lazy is one of my top 5, live in Japan is badass. But studio is fine.
Based on a real story...
child in time by this guys its a must hear man, great video!!!

Lord was a monster on that Hammond organ.
DEFINITELY Perfect Strangers.
@@yellowcat1310 And TWO Leslie Cabinets! Like a drummer with double basses. Great stuff.

"Sweet Child In Time" is one you just gotta listen too, up there with "Stairway To Heaven"
Best lyric to ever use the word “stupid” as a noun lol

Maybe the most recognizable guitar riff in rock history. That and AC/DC's "Highway to Hell".

Child in Time
Perfect Strangers
Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming

Yes, I've seen it listed as the most recognized opening riff.
Hell yea!!
The riff that is the equal to Beethoven’s fifth.
Hydrogen is not the most abundant element in the universe,

Chuck Norris failed chemistry in high school.
Because the only element he recognizes, is the element of surprise.
