Hi everyone, Pien here! (Transformation 2) I am so honoured to be mentioned in this video. You were right, I have used accutane for several months because no other product worked for me. I have tried several types of medication that didn't work for me. Accutane helped me the most, but I also stayed consistent with using skincare. If you're reading this and you struggle with acne, I would recommend starting with a simple skincare routine. Finding a cleanser, a moisturiser and a sunscreen that works for you can help immensely. I am not licensed so I can only tell you what worked for me, but if you have questions my dm's are always open. Once again thank you Hyram for all the work you do and for your kind words

I just finished Accutane about 2 months ago after suffering with moderate acne for 15+ years, definitely was worth it in *MY* case. I was terrified of all the negative things I've heard about it but proceeded with caution, used lots of Aquaphor and had very minimal side effects (chapped lips, dry skin, blood in nose but not nose bleeds...). It's still holding strong and hasn't gone back to what it was. Super thankful to my dermatologist that started me off slow on small doses and never went over I believe 60mg and followed me closely during each step of the way! Life changing for sure and was worth trying out after going through every OTC products and trying birth control, topicals (that I ended up having allergies to), etc.

Of I get a breakout now as an adult (1 or 2 pimples big or small) I use Louis Widmer acne creme on the spot few times a day for a few days and they poof and get tamed. Hi! Thanks to your advice, Hyram I transformed my skin as well. I had an overdose of Vitamin B12 (I didn't even need it so my body took it out) which caused acne all over my face when I'd never had those issues during my teenage years. It infected and went to the dermatologist to get antibiotics. Infection was gone, but acne stayed. At the beginning of the pandemic I found your channel. I can only say: "Thank you SO much!" You saved my skin. Really hope you continue growing as you have ❤ Wishing you more tons of success 💪

Hey Hyram! I was hoping you could rate my simple skincare routine but on comments. So first for my night routine, I just wash my face with some cetaphil, then I use hyaluronic acid from ordinary, then I use Cerave moisturizer. For my morning routine, I use a morning cleanser, then I would use hyaluronic acid from ordinary again, then I would use drunk elephant bronzing drops and mix it with a different Cerave moisturizer that has sunscreen in it. But since I’m out of that Cerave moisturizer with sunscreen. I use the Cerave moisturizer that I use for my night routine and then I just use the supergoop sunscreen.

hi hyram! long-term fan who has a super cool skincare video series idea:
you should make a video series where you create a day and night skincare routine using products in the same color packaging.
you can make a part 1 and part 2 for each color, day and night.
and the last video can be a rainbow video where you use your favorite products from each color ☺(also divided into daytime and nighttime routine)!
doesn't have to be pride month related but also would be super cool 🌈

      Some advice.
If you are a teen you just need:
      -cleanser
      -acne treatment
      -moisturizer
      -sunscreen
      20's:
      -cleanser
      -exfoliator
      -toner (optional)
-serum (ordinary (buffet) multipeptide serum, or byoma serums are great for your wallet)
-retinol or vitamin c (optional if you are under 24. Why optional? You don't really need it at that age, unless prescribed by a doctor)
      -eye cream (yes, yes, yes!
starting from age 20. Can even be a drugstore brand like cerave, neutrogena, or cetaphil. Seriously I cannot stress this enough. I waited till my late 20's to use an eye cream. I wished I used it sooner.)
-moisturizer (but the $$$$ kind. Moisturizing is key, and if drugstore stuff works for you, great, but expensive moisturizers are where it's at! if you find the right one)
      -sunscreen
      30's, 40's, 50's and beyond:
      -cleanser
      -exfoliator
      -Toner (optional)
-retinol, vitamin c, vitamin e, bha/aha, hyloronic acid, niacinimide, glycerin, etc.
      -serums ($$$$)
-face machines like red light therapy, rollers, etc.
      -eye cream ($$$$)
      -moisturizer ($$$$)
      -sunscreen
(You don't need EVERYTHING from the 30's and over list, but you def need more than in your teens/20's)

    • @specialtwice4975
      @specialtwice4975 Рік тому

List that I've learned on my skincare journey:
Retinol (preferable for 24/25 and older. You don't need it at 20 and under because your skin is still young and produces tons of collagen):
      -use 1x to 2x a week
      -can help clear some acne
      -helps with wrinkles
      -helps with exfoliating
      -helps with collagen
-tons of tests done on it by medical field
-is the number 1 anti aging for women in their 30's, 40's, 50's (best anti aging ingredient so far found)
      -never use with vitamin c
Vitamin c (can start at age 20, if you want):
      -can use everyday
      -helps with skin texture
-smoothes and brightens skin over time
-can help fade some dark spots
-with sunscreen, helps protect skin from daily damage like pollution, dirt, etc.
-con, can cause acne/breakouts or cause irritation to some people
      -never use with retinol
Hyloronic acid (can start using as a teen):
      -can use everyday
      -helps to retain moisture
      -makes skin bouncy and healthy
      -helps hydrate skin
      -in most serums
-con, in almost every product you buy, including some cleansers
Glycerin (okay to use as a teen):
      -helps moisturize
      -helps skin barrier
      -in some products already
Niacinimide (age 18 and over. Wouldn't use everyday. Maybe 2x to 3x a week):
      -helps with acne
      -calms the skin
      -can reduce some redness
-con, some people can be irritated by it
      Bha/aha (20 and over. 1x to 2x a week):
      -exfoliates
      -helps clear the skin
      -helps pores
-con, can be irritating to some
Peptides (can use as a teen if already in a serum):
      -great for making colagin
      -great for skin barrier
      -good for skin health
Peptide serums: the ordinary (buffet) multiple peptide serum, byoma serums.

a couple of my skincare horror stories are that I used to skip cleansing and go straight in with a serum. and the serum was really oily and didn't help with my oily freakin skin. like I would go a week without cleansing my face. another one is I used to put the st ives scrub on my face but leave it on for 15 to 20 mins and then scrub it and rinse it off. now my skincare routine is amazing and my skin is looking flawless. (most of the products I use are recommended by hyram) some include the cera ve foaming facial cleanser, byoma clarifying serum, the ordinary lactic acid 5%, and the scinic spf 50 sunscreen:)

Since so many people need recommendations in the comments, I made a list.
Exfoliators (only exfoliate 1x to 2x a week):
    -Cerave SA cleanser
-Paula's choice 2% Bha liquid exfoliant
    -the ordinary gylcolic toner
    For acne:
    -differin cleanser
    -Cerave SA cleanser
-cerave acne cleanser (yes they have a line for acne, it's different from the SA line)
-byoma clarifying serum (for acne) or brightening serum (for brightening but has niacinimide which helps calm the skin)
(Note: for acne prone skin. Probably best to not use on same day as acne cleanser cause of irritation. Use next day with regular face cleanser, not acne one)
    Cleansers for dry skin/combo/sensitive skin:
    -Cerave hydrating cleanser
    -cetaphil cleanser for sensitive skin
-la Roche posay cleanser (white bottle)
-Tacha (purple) rice cleanser (expensive but a DREAM for dry skin)
    Cleansers for oily skin:
    -cerave foaming cleanser
-la Roche posay cleanser (blue bottle, forgot the name)
-bubble cleanser? (Not sure if for oily skin)
    Serums:
    -Byoma hydrating serum
    -bubble vitamin c serum
-the ordinary multipeptide serum (formerly "the buffet")
    Moisturizers:
    -cerave moisturizer
-neutrogena gel moisturizer (blue jar, make sure it says "no fragrance")
    -cetaphil moisturizer
-byoma moisturizers (pink: oily skin, purple: dry skin)
-la Roche posay various moisturizers (toleriane line is great for sensitive skin)
    Eye cream:
-cetaphil eye cream (works well for sensitive skin)
    -cerave eye cream
(Still looking for a good eye cream tbh)
    Sunscreen:
-Drugstore sunscreens (cheap, but works. May leave a white cast)
    -super goop sunscreen (expensive)

I put a small line on the back of my hand and lightly put some under my eyes and then use the rest of that line on other spots/areas I think need it. THEN it's not blasting on my sensitive skin face! Also, that product usually lasts me longer than any other skin care routine product I use, so I don't tend to worry about wasting it or using too much... That's what I have found anyway lol.

I'd cut back on the exfoliation and the tons of skincare you are using.
      Keep you skincare routine simple.
      Cleanse, moisturize, sunscreen.
Also, once a week, skip doing your skincare routine for a wholeeee day. Yep, skip 1 day. Don't clean your skin or anything, just let your natural oils/skin do the work. Then next day do your simple routine again.
      Why do this?
I've seen sooooo many people on tiktok do skincare routines everyday and never let their skin take a break, not once. Sometimes it's healthier for your skin barrier to do nothing.
Then, after 2 to 3 weeks of a basic basic basic skincare routine, slowly start adding 1 or 2 products in.

Most cleansers dry out my face really bad. I haven’t seen better results until I started adding this product to my routine. • @specialtwice4975
      @specialtwice4975 Рік тому +1

Not hyram but here is some advice:
      - salicylic acid cleanser once or twice a week OR benzelperoxide cleanser (Cerave acne cleanser) once or twice a week
      -Moisturize
-(third option, take this with a grain of salt because this might not work for you)
Cerave Salycilic acid cleanser, followed by plain moisturizer, followed by NEXT day, yes, NEXT day, a serum or moisturizer with niacinimide.
Use niacinimide serum/moisturizer only 1x to 2x times a week as well.
And why next day? Well, salycilic acid and nicinimide one after the other can cause irritation, so it's best to use later. They don't mix well together.
Now, why did I say "take with a grain of salt"?
Well, usually I don't reccomend things like niacinimide, vitamin c, etc, for teens and kids, cause they don't need it.
However, nicinimide is known to help calm acne and this step has helped me with my adult acne.
      Recap:
Saliclic acid cleanser one day with plain, basic moisturizer; wash face with basic gentle cleanser (nots sa one) followed by niacinimide serum or moisturizer the NEXT day.
      Some products with niacinimide/reccomendations:
-la Roche posay toleriane sensitive riche moisturizer (has niacinimide in it, probably the best pick because it is even safe/gentle for kids to use)
-glow recipe niacinimide serum (con: has fragrance)

    • @specialtwice4975
      @specialtwice4975 Рік тому +1

Don't use the ordinary's niacinimide serum.
Though it looks great on the wallet, the percentage of niacinimide in that serum is wayyyyy too high for a person to use and will most likely be more irritating than helpful.
Also, forgot to say cleanser recommends: "cerave's sylacilic acid cleanser" or cerave's acne sylacilic acid cleanser"

    • @specialtwice4975
      @specialtwice4975 Рік тому

Don't be scared. It's not too bad, if you can find a retinol that works for you.
For me, I got lucky the very first try, the one I chose didn't give me any irritation or skin peeling, just slight redness which I got use to. Also the results I got were amazing the first time I tried it btw, but now has since slowed down (cause I haven't been using retinol more frequently. How retinol works is you have to slowly use more over time. I've been using it for a year and only use it 1 night per week 😅, though I should probably do 2 nights per week now.)
I use roc retinol capsules (white bead ones. They have a blue one too with hyloronic acid).
I like it because it gave great results for me, didn't give much irritation or break outs except some slight redness and was easy to use. You use 1 bead for your face and neck, that's all you need. (So it's measured out for you and you don't need to think "Am I putting on too much?")
Retinol is fine, and works well. :)
You just can't use it if you are pregnant, and remember to put on sunscreen the morning after you apply before going to work. (Most say apply at night)
I only do my skincare routine at night, so if I apply retinol the night before I put on some sunscreen before heading out the door.
Never, ever, forget sunscreen if you put on retinol the night before. Not good.
Also, when you start retinol, only apply it 1x per week. Then after a month or 2, you can apply 2x a week, then 4 months 3x per week, etc. whatever your skin can tolerate.
And if your face gets too red or peeling, then you can lessen it.
Just don't forget sunscreen whenever you apply it and don't use it while pregnant, and you'll be fine. :)
As I said above, I recommend Roc retinol capsule (white pods).
That's what I reccomend as a beginner anyways.

    • @specialtwice4975
      @specialtwice4975 Рік тому

      Recap:
      -Don't use while pregnant
      -start at 1x per week
-always, always, always put on sunscreen the morning after
      (Forgot to mention)
-if you do wash your face in the morning and put on vitamin c, I reccomend SKIPPING vitamin c on mornings after to retinol.
You see, retinol and vitamin c don't mix, at all. 🚫
So if you have a usual face routine each morning and apply vitamin c, I reccomend skipping the vitamin c completely the morning after retinol.
-there is a skincare method called "the sandwich method" that helps with retinol. (You can find videos on UA-cam about it)
      It goes:
      -moisturizer
      -retinol
      -moisturizer
This is apparently suppose to help buffer the side effects of retinol by adding an extra layer.
Btw, if you decide you don't want to use retinol (some people don't use retinol, and that is OK :) ) hyloronic acid is a great substitute, also maybe read about bukuchiol? Bicuchiol? (I've heard that is a good subsitute too)
