    That transformation from slugging wasn’t actually from slugging, she speaks about it on her tiktok and she goes in depth and it was cetaphil cleanser, la roche posay toner, cerave hydrating serum, la roche posay spot treatment and the cerave lotion. She was on birth control and did take doxycycline for about a month.

      Her tips include: stopped wearing makeup and keeping her hair up, always wear sunscreen, she now double cleanses to keep it away, she splashed her face with cold water after washing it, she uses a topical acne treatment from aklief, that’s what helped her with most of her scarring, it was prescribed and it is over the shelf. And she then used slugging to repair her skin barrier.

    I love how skin care has exploded these last years! I started getting facials in high school (1990) and there was just a handful of people who performed then and there were even less product lines…does anybody remember DeCleor and of course La Roche Posay. I happened to go to a women from Poland and she was amazing…today we would call her old school. She would literally examine each pore and extract whatever she cold get out. Everyone knew when I was going to Helen I would go into hiding for at least a week later, but once I healed my face would look amazing and I would forget all the pain and suffering I went through to get to this point…now because everyone and their mothers are taking care of their skin there is so much more education and communication about all different kinds of things from treatments to techniques to products and everything in between so skin care doesn’t have to be so painful!!!XOXOXO

    I had serious, cystic acne, so I thought my skin was oily for years. After my first baby wrinkles started appearing early due to sun damage, I started hydrating heavily and slugging- over a year my skin transformed and I haven’t seen a spot or blackhead for years now. So I guess my skin was dehydrated and over compensating. Only after the spots were gone I started using acids to combat the scars under the slugging, it works wonders, but I guess I am the proof that slugging can help clear acne because my uneducated backside didn’t know what active ingredients are when I started.

      Was it rlly only? I’m in the same boat just 24 seeing wrinkles have cystic acne for so long I’m usuin differ in rn can’t tell if it’s causing more breakout or it’s purging btw I find when I don’t wash my face or even moisturize my skin just produces oil yea but since I don’t strip it I also notice less acne very weird

      @niadimitrova4112 2 роки тому +1

      @@Pinkrevenge101 I don’t think I believe in purging when it comes to healing skin tbh. I think a routine is more important than a brand and as long as you are aware of what is affecting your skin negatively and steer clear; incorporate actives, followed up by hydration and clean properly in the evening you are doing everything you can. So in winter in the evening I would use FaceD peeling serum (I think it’s only available in Italy), but I have also used and loved various other glycolic and salicylic acid serums, twice a week; Bakuchiol or vitamin C the other evenings. I use a cosrx rice sleeping mask on top and aquaphor. During the day I use just vitamin C or bakuchiol serums, light cream and/or SPF. And I think what helped me a lot is double cleansing. During summer I don’t use any acids, but lots of vitamin C, SPF and hallelujahs cause I am very prone to melasma. I slug twice a week at most, but I live in Rome, Italy where it’s ridiculously hot and humid, so more often is not necessary.

For YEARS (from when I was a teen to as recently as 2020) anytime I told someone the skin routine my mom taught me (using Vaseline as a type of cold cream to prep the face before makeup & to remove makeup) they would gasp in horror. It will clog your skin! Your skin won’t breathe! This will destroy your skin!! So, since I hate the feel of Vaseline anyway, I didn’t do it.
    But now all of a sudden everyone LOVES Vaseline & it will in no way clog your pores & is the best thing for you!

    • @alee9198
      @alee9198 2 роки тому +2

      @@maheen7611 Sure! I mean it's pretty simple, I just use mostly calming skincare products after cleansing my face; I really focus on hydration, so layering my toner and then using a good hydrating serum then I go in with a cream moisturizer with ingredients that really help maintain the skin barrier then after that I slug on a balm (I used the Etude House SJ cica balm but you can use any occlusive balm)
      What I've learned so far throughout my maskne journey is that the key to heal maskne is to truly maintain a good skin barrier.

    But tuesdays I use a retinol, and wednesdays I do my normal routine but followed by slugging.
    I have never “struggled” with acne, however I have noticed my acne being drastically improved when I slug after using my salicylic acid.

    I've been slugging for a year. I have a true combo skin type and I live in a humid climate so I wasn't sure it would work. But I started because i was on a strong medication for my immune deficiency and it dried the crap out of my skin and caused breakouts at the same time so I had to do something. I started with the CeraVe healing ointment and I went through 2 tubs and 9 months. It was the only way my face didn't hurt 24/7 and my acne went away in less than a month. I stopped even having hormonal acne. Anyway, the severe dryness has subsided and now I am back to my combo self. I stopped using the CeraVe for the hotter months and have started using the VaniCream Healing Ointment. It's dimethacone based and it's perfect for the heat. I think it's worth a try if you have the feeling of petroleum.

    I have always had very oily skin, so whenever I heard about slugging I was skeptical about trying it. I used either bag balm or aquaphor on my skin after completing my normal routine. After trying it for a week, I loved it and will never go back. I know I'm a little bit late to this video, however I've been slugging for 4 1/2 months now and it is the best decision I have ever made in my skincare journey. I recommend using aloe vera under you slugging seal.

    Wow so I never even knew I was actually slugging this whole time for my undereye area. About 2 years ago (I'm currently 30) I was suffering from severe dryness under my eyes. I have always had allergies, dark circles, sometimes insomnia etc. and could never get the dryness to go away. My mom bought me the Neutrogena hand cream (the Norwegian formula and it has a vaseline type base) and on a whim I decided to use it under my eyes because it said it could be used on the face and body for dry patches, not just hands and it doesn't contain fragrance. I could not believe the results. Absolutely zero dryness and my fine lines have become way less noticeable, even with concealer. Such a game gamer for those wishing to improve their skin, especially the undereye area, and I actually may switch it up to the CeraVe Healing Ointment as I've seen so many positive reviews.

    I have terribly oily skin that breaks out if I just breath wrong. I had seen a lot of stuff on slugging, but I was not going to try it until I saw someone on TikTok that has oily very acne prone skin do it. I grabbed the Cerave healing ointment to use and haven't looked back. I don't do it all the time, but when I break out, am feeling a bit dry (rare), or have been out in the sun too much it happens. I clean my face really well, put my acne meds on, next is moisturizer, and then finally a good amount of the cerave (eyes, face, lips). I go a little minimal on what I do on the nights I slug. Typically when I do it for a break out, I wake up with a better looking face. If it's really bad, there's usually less redness and swelling; for the less terrible breakouts I have woken up to them being almost completely gone. I love it when it works!

    My skin has improved so much since slugging. All I started with was lotion and Vaseline but what a difference it made.
    I’m 27 and throughout my teens and early twenties I never really payed any mind to my skin. Hardly ever used lotion, and never cleansed with a face cleanser just bar soap. I worked in construction, out in the sun, without sunscreen, with dust in my face all day.
    Needless to say I did horrible damage to my skin barrier to the point that if I added any lotion my skin I would have a burning sensation.
    Its been a journey finding the right products but I can proudly say I’ve vastly improved my skin with slugging

    I’ve always had an issue with eczema (specifically on the hands, had really severe germaphobia when I was younger and it destroyed the skin barrier on my hands, still wash my hands more than I should but I’m working on it) and taking accutane made it so much worse. Had no clue this had a name but it saved my hands from the dryness. i religiously put on some thick hand lotion and then topped it off with a thick layer of aquaphor right before going to bed. Still have small breakouts every so often but it’s a lot more mild now.

I am slugging with petroleum jelly on the fingers that has deep cut and painful every night. Every time I wake at night to pee, I again putlslug on petroleum jelly on the wounds. In 2-3 days my wounds/cuts were completely healed and gone with no trace. One gave me a $280 eye cream prescription that did NOTHING, others just passed it as dermatitis and said it'd go away if I left it alone...
