As a former Proactiv employee I have to say that if you see results that is awesome and I'm very happy for you but get off of it as soon as you're comfortable. Proactiv is not meant for use over extended periods of time. Move over to something a little kinder on your skin and wallet, like The Ordinary or Cerave. If you have oily skin definitely feel free to keep that BP spot treatment if you LOVE it. Otherwise, Niacinamide will work just as well. If you're currently on the 3 step program please be aware that you need a moisturizer and sunscreen. Kiosk employees cannot recommend other brands to you but you absolutely need to include the things that they don't have. Rodan+Fields is counting on your skin overproducing oils to make you break out and think you need the product more because your skin is stripped to death. The Hydrator is NOT a moisturizer! Using all that BP and Salicylic acid makes you very vulnerable to sun damage that will be permanent, including hyperpigmentation. Remember to research your routine and be wary of companies that don't give full ingredient lists. Also, the BP is why your pillows are discolored, it's basically bleach. Listen to Hyram and your Derm, not Kendall Jenner. She absolutely does not use Proactiv and she doesn't know anything about the product except that the check went through.
@@olivia-lz9oe I use benzoyl peroxide for my skin, and it bleaches towels and clothing. Try buying a wash version, not a gel. Disclaimer: We don't rly have Proactiv products in Finland or at least haven't seen any, so I don't know whether they include benzoyl peroxide or not. But benzoyl peroxide is rly good for mild to medium level of acne when used right and paired with a good moisturizer etc.

Hi Hyram, This is my current skin care routine for acne prone combination skin: 1. Simple Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water Sensitive Skin 2. CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser 3. The Inkey List PHA Toner OR Simple Gentle Toner 4. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% and zinc serum (Amazing!!!) 5. CeraVe Eye Repair Cream 6. CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion with SPF 25 (Day). The Inkey List Ceramide Night Treatment Once a week: 1. The Ordinary AHA 30% BHA 2% peeling solution Hyram you are amazing! Love your channel! Xx 😚
Hey Sarah, I dont mean to bash at all, but I believe that the ordinary peeling solution is very strong, it might be a good idea to give your skin more time to relax between uses. I just want yall to be safe!! ☺️☺️✊❤
Aman Kaur there’s no evidence that an spf is any more effective when it’s over 50. Also 25 might be fine for this person, things like skin tone play a role in how strong an spf a person needs.
Saskia Jones it’s the rubbing and dragging so hard that is trouble. It sounds like you are using them responsibly, but a micellar water might be better and cheaper!
Adrianna not broke. Just smart. Story: used to work at a huge drugstore chain which sold everything from low to high end brands. The ordinary was always sold out. Sold out the day we restocked them. We had other very effective and expensive brands too but the ordinary is a smart brand for smart buyers.
ok so story time, when i was 13 my mom bought me some proactive products, i tested them all on the sensitive part of my arm, had no reaction whatsoever, so i decided it was ok to use these products on my face, next day i was super red, and my eczema was killing me. My skin just h u r t. Proactive. Never again. so yeah, thats my experience with it, not that anyone asked
Dude SAME! Proactive burned my skin so much and made my skin peel and crack to the point that it bled. Immediately threw it out. Now every time I see an ad for it I get flashbacks. 😅
I’ve heard proactive can even bleach clothes. Next time patch test on your neck which is close to your face (for 24-96 hours) in addition to your inner arm
Story time: I was at a friends house for a sleepover and we were having fun. Towards the time we were getting ready for bed she offered me the Neutragina oil face wash (orange bottle) I used that, ONLY that then the day after the sleepover I was at home and overnight my face was FILLED with pimples and acne! This was a few years ago, I was probably 9, A NINE YR OLD SHOULDNT HAVE THAT MUCH ACNE. I was SO embarrassed my mom let me stay home from summer camp. (Ty mom ilyyy) we completely threw the bottle away since my friend let me keep it and overall it’s just a horrible product and my skin DID NOT like it.
I have that product and I use it all the time and I still have breakouts😳 thank you for saying something about this cause that product might be the reason I still have a lot of acne.

please please PLEASE Do a react to Doja Cat’s skincare routine. She literally exfoliates twice a day it’s crazy. Edit: oh wait, you already did. MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED
Story time: When I was 15 years old (I’m 27 now) my mom and I bought into the ProActive hype when it started coming out. We ordered 1 package of the cleanser, the toner, and the lotion. After ONE day of using it as directed, when I woke up the next morning (for school...yeah you can imagine how socially painful that was in the 9th grade) my entire chin and skin above my lips were chemically burned off. At least 3 layers of skin. And my cheeks were so cracked and dry. Mind you, I had minimal acne around my chin area and an oily face growing up. I took the lotion to school with me to try and save my skin through out the day but it was so obvious to others that something was really wrong with my skin. I thought the sensations I felt on my face the night I used ProActive, before bed, were “normal” and “cleansing” to my face. Needless to say my mom and I stopped using it right after that. I now use a brand called Vanicream (fragrance free 😉) and I’ll be looking into CeraVe the next time we grocery shop just to see what’s up ✌🏻😊 Thank you Hyram for all your awesome informative content!
beautyisthebeast_11 same thing happened to me. It was my brothers ProActive set (it worked really good for him, as it seems to for most people) I was like 14, had no acne “real” at all - just the occasional pimple cause I would touch/pick at my face with my nasty ass mitts all the damn time - but was mad because my mom wouldn’t buy me acne face wash, so I was soups jealous that he had special face wash and cream. One night I snuck in the bathroom and used the entire set the way you’re supposed to, went to bed feeling like a fucking sneaky bad ass, woke up and my entire face was the ANGRIEST red color you’ve ever seen. My lips were cracking around the edge, I had a blisters, it was bad. My skin is still fucked up from that 14 years later.. it is NO JOKE, that ProActive
SAME. Except it turns out I’m allergic to the active ingredient in proactive, benzoyl peroxide. I remember my parents getting so mad because they spent all that money, and my skin was just getting worse. So they thought I wasn’t washing my face at all. Then one day my sister was sick and I was at the doctor with her and my mom. And my mom was like “I know you’re not a dermatologist but do you maybe know anything that can help this kids skin?” So she prescribed me this cream that had the highest benzoyl peroxide content you can get, annnddd the next day I missed school because my face was so swollen I couldn’t open my eyes. 🥴
Omg proactive did the same to me! I tried the moisturizer after and it just got worse. My skin is SO scarred from all of that and I only used it for 2 months.
Bad experience with proactive too.. I remember when I first started using it, my face would be red and so dry that my skin was peeling off in some areas. And a month or so after I was continuously using the product I woke up with my whole face completely swollen I could barely open my eyes and I had to go to the doctors, my face remained swollen for like three days even though I was taking medication. And before using proactive the only issue I had with my skin was acne, and now I have to deal with very dry skin and swelling whenever I use anything on my face.

Hi! I’m not Hyram but I can help. Clean and Clear is not the best for any skin type. It is loaded with fragrance which can cause a fragrance allergy. But hey! If it work for you then use it 😊👍
It's filled with denatured alcohol that dries out your skin and will age you in the future. I understand that when you have really oily skin you feel like you should dry it out but that's not the case, believe me I've been there. I hope to God you're not using their toner and daily physical exfoliator because those are the worst products they have. To give you an idea they had to discontinue their last daily exfoliator because so many people complained it made their skin go raw and red, me included. Their moisturizer is mostly ok.

Hi Hyram,
This is my current skin care routine for acne prone combination skin:
1. Simple Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water Sensitive Skin
2. CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser
3. The Inkey List PHA Toner OR Simple Gentle Toner
4. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% and zinc serum (Amazing!!!)
5. CeraVe Eye Repair Cream
6. CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion with SPF 25 (Day). The Inkey List Ceramide Night Treatment
Once a week:
1. The Ordinary AHA 30% BHA 2% peeling solution
Hyram you are amazing! Love your channel! Xx 😚
Hey Sarah, I dont mean to bash at all, but I believe that the ordinary peeling solution is very strong, it might be a good idea to give your skin more time to relax between uses. I just want yall to be safe!! ☺️☺️✊❤
Erin Brown I think the Ordinary recommends that you use the peeling solution 1-2 times a week & she says she uses it once a week so I think she’s ok 😊
Erin Brown Hi Erin, thank you! 😙 I might start using it fortnightly, you’re right it is strong. Xx
Sunscreen spf is very low buy spf more than 60.hope it will help yay!!
Aman Kaur there’s no evidence that an spf is any more effective when it’s over 50. Also 25 might be fine for this person, things like skin tone play a role in how strong an spf a person needs.
Someone drags a makeup wipe on their face.
Me: Well say hello to wrinkles, kid.
I still take my makeup off gently with a wipe but I wear makeup like once or twice a week sometimes not even that. Is it ok if I don’t use it often?
Saskia Jones it’s the rubbing and dragging so hard that is trouble. It sounds like you are using them responsibly, but a micellar water might be better and cheaper!
We use The Ordinary cause we broke 😂😂
Adrianna not broke. Just smart.
Story: used to work at a huge drugstore chain which sold everything from low to high end brands. The ordinary was always sold out. Sold out the day we restocked them. We had other very effective and expensive brands too but the ordinary is a smart brand for smart buyers.
I may be broke but smart at the same time 😂😂
Regina Phalenge How about the inkey list?
nawh i use it because hyram recommended it once lmao
omg i wish the ordinary is so expensive in my country 💀
ok so story time, when i was 13 my mom bought me some proactive products, i tested them all on the sensitive part of my arm, had no reaction whatsoever, so i decided it was ok to use these products on my face, next day i was super red, and my eczema was killing me. My skin just h u r t. Proactive. Never again. so yeah, thats my experience with it, not that anyone asked
well, ya know, the skin on our arms is different to our face
@@GirlXO absolutely it can! I accidentally spilt it on our coffee table and it stripped the varnish!! did a real number on my face too 😬

Edit: oh wait, you already did.
MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED
Hyram literally needs to get paid more. He is amazing!
Story time:
When I was 15 years old (I’m 27 now) my mom and I bought into the ProActive hype when it started coming out.
I now use a brand called Vanicream (fragrance free 😉) and I’ll be looking into CeraVe the next time we grocery shop just to see what’s up ✌🏻😊
Thank you Hyram for all your awesome informative content!
beautyisthebeast_11 same thing happened to me. It was my brothers ProActive set (it worked really good for him, as it seems to for most people)
I was like 14, had no acne “real” at all - just the occasional pimple cause I would touch/pick at my face with my nasty ass mitts all the damn time - but was mad because my mom wouldn’t buy me acne face wash, so I was soups jealous that he had special face wash and cream.
And before using proactive the only issue I had with my skin was acne, and now I have to deal with very dry skin and swelling whenever I use anything on my face.
i use vanicream cleanser and cerave moisturizer and my skin is very happy. i mix squalane oil in with my moisturizer btw
Haha you’re obsessed with animals named after food. All my pets have been named after food. Pepper, mochi, kimchi, sherbet, rice, and ranch.
edit: ranch is a play on words as well as a pet named after food, its the name of my tarantula. she's my taranchula.
Yes, mine too!
Peach, Cinnamon Bun, Cheesecake and Ginger
I’ve dedicated the name chicken nugget to my future dog already 😂 I love ranch
Most of mine are too, potato, choco, Oreo, peaches, cream, cupcake, and some people consider squid in that category
I wanted to name my cat "whore" but I was like 9 when we got him and I didn't think my parents would approve...

When u know Hyrams skin care channel is more important than education
It is education (for my skin)
I feel like some companies put fragrance in their products to irritate people’s skin so then they buy more of their products thinking it’s not the product
What are your thoughts on “Clean and Clear”? Because so far those are the only products that have worked for my skin
Cláudia Rodrigues I was trying to say that it’s the only thing that has helped with my acne, yes I do have oily skin but I’ve never tried to dry out my skin.Thank you for the feedback though
Cláudia Rodrigues what about the daily cleanser that’s not exfoliating?
I use Clean n Clear also 😐 but I always use a moisturizer, so is that ok?

purple pineapple if it ain’t broke then don’t fix it. I love black soap bc it is natural I don’t like putting chemicals on my face but if ABS is working for your skin then don’t change it bc african black soap is not harmful in meaning chemical wise but it does burn some people.
