I had to hold back tears when you asked yourself "why do I still have fun on KC" and showed so many OG clips. I bought a PS4 BECAUSE this game came out and have bought 4 PS5's (the first 2 were stolen and my girlfriend played with me a lot on Apex) and have never regretted those decisions. I LOVE this game even with all of it's current flaws... I can STILL have fun so many years later and quite frankly... Well, it's a masterpiece in my eyes. Thank you for giving KC this recognition and the interview was very well done. Much love and have a wonderful day my guy.
Edit: Gettin a lotta jokes but here's some details, my girlfriend and I both owned PS5's that were stolen at the same time. Front door had a glass window on it that the robber threw a brick through and opened said door by reaching inside... Badda bing badda boom we're out a 1,000$.

This is so cool. I was a day 1 Apex player so I have a lot of good memories playing Apex in the early days on this map for hundreds and hundreds of hours.

wish i kept playing in season 0 and all that. OG KC was so fun, i was top 300 in the world so i remember i’d play a few games, get like 30-50 kills them refresh

@@_dashyy apextracker, it tracked everyones kills, so you’d just have a look at how many kills you were on, play a few games and by that time it would refresh your rank

Man, I miss the early days of Apex. Back when no one knew what we were doing and the map felt huge. KC might be objectively the worst map but it's number one in my heart.

Been playing since February 2019, and even through all the ups and downs Its still a Game I love.

I work in server IT and hearing the technological constraints with memory is cool to me. I didn’t even think about these br maps being so huge they could throttle resources. This challenge and the timeline they had to develop makes a lot of sense with the audio issues and server issues they have.

Honestly the original was probably my favorite FPS map across the board.
I was really exited about this video. I always interested in what rules the developers followed when creating maps for the apex. Especially considering that they hadn’t really worked with maps of similar sizes until that moment.
Wish you to get as much views as possible on this project!
P.S. Btw, how did u make those "flying camera" footages? I was struggelling to find any camera-mods for Apex.
They’re made in private servers with observer mode.
The synchronicity of this video is crazy. Literally was talking about our favorite map with my buddy's last night and we all still have KC at number 1. Literally stayed up until 3 AM to get the full KC map rotation in, and that is very late for all of us.
10/10 video Moore, loved every moment. Also love how you chose not to include much imagery of (now old) Broken Moon when talking about how KC has to be the worst map, 😊😂🤣

Wow what a video. I didn’t play Apex until season 20 and honestly Kings Canyon is my favorite map. My friends I always play with it’s their favorite map too. Salute to the Apex team for their hard work. You guys truly have created the best video game I’ve ever played and it always amazes me all that’s went into it

As a day 1 Apex player this was a great watch!
The problem with KC is that it's outdated it was built with the original 8 legends in mind, now you have legends like Valk and survival items like the evac tower that can get you across the map much faster than you could when Apex first came out.
Even though I hate KC for ranked I still love it for pubs because of the nostalgia it holds and as you said the legacy it has.

King's Canyon is by far the favorite map of our group. Could be a bit biased since when we started playing, KC was the map that was on ranked rotation at the time, and we would spend an entire season on it.
I miss the thunderdome… I know it wasn’t ever the best drop… but it was home.. I’ve never found another place that loved like the dome…

I used to play offline game alone on ps4. Since i knew apex, i met a lot friends in the same Apex community. This relationship keeps me stay with apex until now.
It is something that Apex Legends blows every other battle royale out of the water: The map. Offering a lot of distinct locales, terrain and how every map is split in "2 themes" is a really clever way to have some biodiversity of a map.
Theres hints towards a new map coming and by the looks of it, it looks really unique

I remember the exact moment the game launched. Was in class in college learning circuits, left my laptop with a friend, went back to the dorm, initiated the download on xbox and went back to class. Safe to say not much work was done that week
Kings canyon in the og days was goated, best map hands down. Rotations like thunderdome to skull town to market could result in 15+ kills in the first few minutes of the game.

KC MADE APEX what it is today, and the map evovlved A LOT. Tbh I still Love playing on KC and it's my favorite Pubs and Ranked map and with Alter's release rn KC is played in a very unique way which I like a lot atm

Legend right there. He built my favorite Map. Kings Canyon and Olympus are the best maps. And worlds edge on release was also good now its trash. Complete garbage like broken moon and storm point.
Love to see you cover the creation of all the maps or at least analyse them if you can’t get interviews with the designers. I think Broken Moon would be a good map to look at. For me it still doesn’t work but I’m a low level player.
As a relatively new player, I do not have any nostalgia for KC, but I still find it really fun to play, definetly better than World's Edge tbh

Pisses me off every time the devs remove kings canyon from rotation, like playing any other map for pubs sucks ass, there is nothing as fast and exciting like kings canyon. I play pubs to fight people not play looting simulators like storm point and broken moon.
What they’ve failed to realise is that making maps for competitive and expecting them to be fun in casual pubs just doesn’t work. Over the past 5 years, any time worlds edge, Olympus, stormpoint and broken moon were in rotation, I wouldn’t play and wait for kings canyon, I just didn’t want to, nothing gave such as rush as kings canyon and every subsequent map has been worse for this than the last. I used to hate Olympus and worlds edge (season 4) but compared to broken moon and stormpoint, they’re goated.
That besides kings canyon is the most beautiful map by far, the contrast of greens, blues and browns is just beautiful.
I still don’t get why people stopped playing after launch and s1. The game was constantly fun at this point, I played it all the time 😭I even remember this thing: in s2 I had to work at the same time for school and a student job, so I had basically no time to play and I was enoyed by it. Now it became way more difficult to enjoy it with tryhards in each game, 3 stack preds in pubs, cheaters, …
