I was thinking about delaying this video due to the news surrounding Helldivers and PSN accounts, but decided to upload the video anyway and cover the situation before the video starts. In fact, the second galactic war was declared only a few days ago. Before that, it was called "special military operations." We all know what that refers to.
My favorite piece of implied lore is that the helldivers aren't even an "elite" force. The extremely short tutorial is a cake walk, and the only boot camp training a recruit undergoes. They're stored in cryo like disposable meat, and the average life expectancy of a diver in the field is two minutes.
That's what I tend to think and believe. SEAF seems to have soldiers and the capabilities to fight back, but just not the quality of Helldivers. It's also why i think only 4 helldivers are sent at a time to complete a mission only to be replaced with a new member soon after. Also, reinforcements are "approved." The missions will be over quick if all 20+ were on the field. I imagine if a Helldivers stayed long enough to live, they would realize it's just a needless meatgrinder. Super Earth would have something similar to Atriox from Halo Wars 2. Rebellion and hatred after seeing brothers die when the solution was simple but intentionally not used and accepted.
I feel there's probably more training in there given that the helldivers are *really* good with weapons, like, ridiculously good at handling them. Then again that may just be Super Earth culture.

My favorite part about hell divers is how I feel like a part of the battle not just a player in the game. It's one of the few games where I feel like my actions directly effect the story and a loss or victory can best me down or bring me up
We were tricked, the fight is not over. I would actually say things are getting worse. The countries still can't play and 30% of our helldivers are cut off. While more who know the entire situation are still uninstalled in protest, effectively cutting our population in half. That's why we're losing every major order since then. We'll also fail the kill 2 million bots order.
@Forgelock3d And they have blocked more regions since, so they are likely to try and pull something again after their earning call that is coming up soon.
If you listen to an automaton patrol you can hear them marching in cadence. The first line is “Heart, Steel”, and I think this is hinting that Automatons have some human body parts inside of them. If you look around fabricators you can see humans with body parts removed further strengthening this theory.
God its so surreal that I was there and fought in almost every event in the second galactic war- and even more surreal to learn that all of this has only been for 2 months. It feels like almost years at this point, as so much has happened, and this video lays out the events perfectly. Rock on bruh, would love to see another one of these in another few months detailing how inevitably worse it'll get for us on the front lol
Very good summary, very educational. I was one of the divers deployed on Feb 8th, been there for most all the major engagements and can confirm this is pretty accurate. Unfortunately I'm gonna have to report you to my local Democracy Officer Managed Democracy, isn't it beautiful?
One of my favorite little lore bits is that the cyborgs message say that they unanimously declare their independents from supper earth with the wording hinting a some sort of democracy
With the way the bots are now positioned on the map, it seems likely there will be a 4th enemy race to fight especially since the Illuminate are already in HD1, a new race would be HD2's addition to the IP. Now theres plenty of alien archetypes to choose from pop culture that could narrow it down. We have alien bugs(starship troopers obviously), automatons(The borg/Terminator), And the Illuminate would the the hyper-advanced technological aliens archetype (any mothership involving earth invasion movie ever, try battleship or Independence day). What other archetypes are there? Parasitic reproduction Aliens like the Xenomorphs, Infection types like The Flood and The Thing, Industrial conquerers like Destiny's Cabal, or paracausal entities like the Taken from the Destiny as well. Theres so many to choose from if they decide on a 4th race.
Don't give Joel any ideas. We already got flying gold colored dragon things that live in mushrooms and at at factories. Last thing we need is for the illuminate to hit us and then aome hyper infectious alien thing steal rolling in. Our helldiver's count is down and we are on the verge of the first completed major order in a while. Lets keep it positive
@@therandomcommenter6629Yeah, if a fourth faction to fight could be added, it should be an unquestionably human faction, from normal humans with simple guns to more elite enemies like highly-mobile bounty hunters, big guys in big sturdy armor, beast masters controlling alien animals, ramshackled vehicles...and why not, maybe throw in some rudimentary cyborgs or terminid riders (the term bug sympathizer has been thrown around a lot, so maybe something can be done with that).
"Equiped with the most advanced" nananana we ain't got shit. We are missing almost all the vehicles from the first game and all the upgrades for weapons
fun fact, my squad and i were actually the last to fight at the creek. We logged on a month after the battle was over and still had an ongoing operation and we ended up finishing the battle
I just pretend Helldivers started off the same way as valerian city of a thousand planets, but they hired Danny devito as a negotiator. "So anyway I started blasting"
it's all but confirmed that the illuminate will return. there are models and animations and things been datamined. when, no one knows. likely not for a good while, and rightfully so I think. the devs deserve a break after everything that's gone on!
Not really, maybe you and some others but the majority are not. And the proof is literally on the latest War Bond trailer here on UA-cam, which dropped the day the announced the forced PSN account and you can literally see countless Sony fanboys ganging up on all PC users and the very few PS5 users that just wanna game with everyone.
I like to think that once Super War unified, they essentially buried all the historical info of pre Super Earth nations. The legionary armor mentions that it's based on the uniforms from when Super Earth was uniting Earth. Worlds were maybe starting to be colonized beforehand that were forced to join.
Amazing retelling! Beautiful wording and you really captured the feeling! Also I hope that the extra background you gave on a lot of terms and events, gives future divers a really good catch up. Thank you!
I joined the game at the end of Operation Swift Disassembly after hearing many stories of Malevalon Creek (Ironically, the day after Arrowhead released the Fallen Hero's Vengeance cape). Wish I had bought the game earlier but I got to be a part of the Menkent Line on Lasath, the Martale Gambit, and all the horrors of the TCS.
I don’t know if it has any basis or not. One theory I’ve heard is that Helldivers is in a timeline where the Axis powers, especially the Nazis, had much more success during WWII than in real life.
I was on the creek from the start, my team was one of the first ones to land on the creek thinking it was just like any other battle but we were so wrong and within just a few minutes from landing we got overrun at an automaton medium outpost we had just taken out. Me L1 and my brother in arms S2 got out of there alive after a hard fought victory and from that mission i swore that i wouldn't leave the creek until it had been liberated and here i am standing still in one piece but with a shattered mind full of ptsd from all the horrors i saw on that planet.
I look forward to parts 2 and 3 and possibly 4, detailing the return of the illuminate and other unforeseen events in the ongoing galactic war! you've done a great job chronicling the war, helldiver! you've gained a subscriber today. I also like the other content you've put out not related to helldivers 👍
When you open Career section in Armory, yoy can see your stats. I have died 2500+ times. 2500 helldivers died while I was controlling them. Makes you think...
The bugs got to other worlds-via spores one of the characters on your ship has voice lines about the meridian super colony releasing spores so I think that's how they get to other worlds
If we ever get an Human rebel faction to fight against "Super Earth" in the "North" of the Galexy then we would have all 4 major sci-fi trop factions in game (the "hive mind" in the form of the Terminids, the Automotons being the "computer AI intelligence" and the Illuminate being the quazi religious, Halo Covenant parallel, that has very advanced technology and if the Human rebels are added then we would have the "mass rebellion against an evil empire" trope...the evil empire in the case being "Super Earth" in case the one persone in the back didn't get it) Then mabye we could eventually get like am "Quadruple Allience" against Super Earth
helldivers take a second to appreciate and take pride in all you contributions in history. We will be remembered. But seriously i love this community and the camaraderie this game is bringing about. I love the RP
Great video man! Hopefully enough happens in the future to where you can come out with an update video. Because I very much enjoyed listening to this one.
0:16 yeah… I don’t about Sony being a “tech monopoly,” but I do see the cyber security breaches as an issue. That said, all that’s really at risk is your email address being compromised since there’s no need to give them any of your payment information
I have nothing to do with that breach, from either side, but being in infosec for a few decades has taught me that there is always more types of data stored. Sometimes it’s an accidental, or the company (not Arrowhead specifically, just in general) hasn’t figured out a way to use the data. Also, anti-cheat software operates at a very low level and they run in the kernel, so they can see/block cheating. Like a lot of things in infosec, it can be used for good or bad. They tend to not be the most secure software either and use a lot of the same techniques we use when popping a box, as they are essentially operating as rootkits.
You made the right call bringing out this video now. No matter what stupid corpo Bs happens next, this franchise and it’s games will be great. If anything, arrowhead needs our support now more than ever, lest Sony make them scapegoats for this mess they’ve made.
My personal theory as to why Stockholm is now the capital of Super Earth (aside from it being an easter egg from Arrowhead), is that Sweden was neutral in these Great Wars, thus Stockholm was one of the few cities that were untouched by the nukes, thus becoming the best choice for the world's capital. This also ties in nicely to your theory about the wars being caused by the Cold War, as Sweden was largely neutral during that time (at least officially)
I do sometimes wonder just how 'elite' helldivers are. Obviously, the satire is that each Helldiver is told that they're a superhero when they're anything but and the tutorial training is woefully inadequate for what they actually face but it's ALSO true that Helldivers can operate and reload a ludicrous array of weaponry smoothly and effectively while utter horrors bear down on them, can take a ludicrous amount of punishment and just get back up, and hypothetically have the strength to pistol whip a metal Destroyer to death. Satire aside, Helldivers are still very VERY capable, it's just that the circumstances they dive into are insane.
I will only continue playing if Sony change is completely gutted and we can opt to join the automatons to fight the scum helldivers that stand with super earth
@@rattyratstuff7125 Kinda surprised they don't have a PVP mode like the Gears of War 3 "Swarm Mode" yet; would really allow for an expansion of the lore.
Fantastic history lesson for us the new generation of Helldivers. Please keep your great work going as the war rages on and become our Helldiver Historian. The containing lore of the second great war must but be continue to be recorded for Super Earth and Democracy.
The fall of Vandalon IV, Ingmar, Mantes and Draupnir... all forgotten by many helldivers. Hell. no one remembers the grand last stand of Mort preventing the complete loss of that sector. but to be fair. There's a LOT of stuff that's gone on in the game, and to try and include it all seems like a very big undertaking as this video in it's entireity is over 30 minutes long, and it just basically hits the cliff notes of the major orders so far.
@@majorplothole2620 I have more memories on drapunir than malevelon creek, just like many other people, but like you said they only talk about the creek.
@@Nikos. The story supposed is going to be about the Spartan-Verse where Master Chief meets the live action Chief and they get naked. Then Sergeant Johnson comes back from the dead and is in love with Mendicant Bias and him and the Didact have a threesome. So the two Jimmy Rings’ go to the Ark where they make sand castles and lick each other’s toes. It ends with live action Chief saying the real Halo was the Cortana feet pics we took along the way…
If super earth is invaded it would be cool to see a change from the tutorial where your job is to liberate a sect of the automatons on super earth to earn your cape and later super destroyer
I’d frankly love that. Maybe since their numbers would be vastly more limited, the main gameplay difference would be that roguedivers would be a lot more tanky and could enter a bleedout state at the cost of little-to-no reinforcements. Either way, I would love to fight against Super Earth’s baloney any day.
Malevolen Creek is definitely nowhere near CLOSE to the bloodiest battle in the second Galactic war. Estanu and Hellmire each on their own have near triple the casualties of Malevolen Creek with over 100 million deaths on each planet considering the Creek had roughly 42 million dead at its liberation. With Estanu fighting like 10 different sieges in its lifetime yeah, there is definitely more blood in other places compared to the Creek.

This is so great. I am new to Helldivers and just started playing the 1st game on PS4. I'm getting more into it now thanks to your background. Why does this game remind me of Starship Troopers?
Side noting the drama, Helldivers 2 truly was a legendary game with great developers and a great community. As much as I believe that Sony would do little change in their decisions, I do believe that it has caused damage upon its own brand and it’s trustworthiness.
The first war against the Cyborgs had started from a terrorist attack where 6 Super Earth citizens were killed, theres flavor text from the first game explaining how they join the war in a very short brief message you only see once.

No... u just don't have to link psn all they did was trick yall an repackage it... 177 countries can't play still.
Perhaps 2nd helping of 👎⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️?@@Forgelock3d
We were tricked, the fight is not over. I would actually say things are getting worse. The countries still can't play and 30% of our helldivers are cut off. While more who know the entire situation are still uninstalled in protest, effectively cutting our population in half. That's why we're losing every major order since then. We'll also fail the kill 2 million bots order.
@Forgelock3d And they have blocked more regions since, so they are likely to try and pull something again after their earning call that is coming up soon.
Just like the Ministry of Truth,
Sony never backs down.
If you listen to an automaton patrol you can hear them marching in cadence. The first line is “Heart, Steel”, and I think this is hinting that Automatons have some human body parts inside of them. If you look around fabricators you can see humans with body parts removed further strengthening this theory.
They bleed blood instead of Oil for some reason...
@sturzkampfflugzueg ikr, it feels like the wars been raging forever yet it’s barely even been half a year. It’s fucking mental
Very good summary, very educational. I was one of the divers deployed on Feb 8th, been there for most all the major engagements and can confirm this is pretty accurate. Unfortunately I'm gonna have to report you to my local Democracy Officer
Managed Democracy, isn't it beautiful?
There is also the "dissidents" choice

I like how you included real world events in this like the bugged and underwhelming exo suits
if arrowhead ever decides to bring back the illuminate, we're gonna have another malevelon creek on our hands.
edit: yup it's happening. we called it.
it's all but confirmed that the illuminate will return. there are models and animations and things been datamined. when, no one knows. likely not for a good while, and rightfully so I think. the devs deserve a break after everything that's gone on!
Malevelon Creek is about to be like Chuck E Cheese compared to the Illuminates.
They might come back sooner then we think given this new major order
Man we have a big portal of course we get squid men back
Bring it on!
Even Ps5 players are mad about the change. Anyway, time to watch the video
Change?
IT WAS THERE WHEN TOU SIGNED THE TOS!
YOU JUST DIDNT READ THEM!

Using Terrorism ToGET YOUR WAY!
Unfortunately I've seen so many idiots simping for PSN it's not even funny 🥲
Not really, maybe you and some others but the majority are not. And the proof is literally on the latest War Bond trailer here on UA-cam, which dropped the day the announced the forced PSN account and you can literally see countless Sony fanboys ganging up on all PC users and the very few PS5 users that just wanna game with everyone.
It’ll only be a matter of time before we’re able to say “Illuminate! North! 200 meters!”
I like to think that once Super War unified, they essentially buried all the historical info of pre Super Earth nations. The legionary armor mentions that it's based on the uniforms from when Super Earth was uniting Earth. Worlds were maybe starting to be colonized beforehand that were forced to join.
Arrowhead: “guys we did we will have Sony pick us up as a publisher we’re freed!”
Sony: “Oh, I wouldn’t say freed, more like under new management.”
hahahahahaha
Malevelon Creek was mainly fought over so much because of it's large rhodium deposits
This is the only game where the quote, “millions died in this battle,” millions of players actually died in this battle.
When you open Career section in Armory, yoy can see your stats.
I have died 2500+ times. 2500 helldivers died while I was controlling them. Makes you think...
Quality video, great content Nikos! Well done!
The bugs got to other worlds-via spores one of the characters on your ship has voice lines about the meridian super colony releasing spores so I think that's how they get to other worlds
Super earth intentionally infest planets with bugs to keep a steady production of element 710
If we ever get an Human rebel faction to fight against "Super Earth" in the "North" of the Galexy then we would have all 4 major sci-fi trop factions in game (the "hive mind" in the form of the Terminids, the Automotons being the "computer AI intelligence" and the Illuminate being the quazi religious, Halo Covenant parallel, that has very advanced technology and if the Human rebels are added then we would have the "mass rebellion against an evil empire" trope...the evil empire in the case being "Super Earth" in case the one persone in the back didn't get it)
Then mabye we could eventually get like am "Quadruple Allience" against Super Earth
Or imagine a separate faction that helps Super Earth, they better be extra friendly
Dude, this animated invasion map and the halo wars 2 banished theme, you need to be hired for like maybe a recap tab for new players in the game!
helldivers take a second to appreciate and take pride in all you contributions in history. We will be remembered.
But seriously i love this community and the camaraderie this game is bringing about. I love the RP
Got ptsd when melevalon creek got mentioned
2:02 "Sorry Britain" nah we had it coming
Great video man! Hopefully enough happens in the future to where you can come out with an update video. Because I very much enjoyed listening to this one.
Who didnt destroy thier illegal broadcast
0:16 yeah… I don’t about Sony being a “tech monopoly,” but I do see the cyber security breaches as an issue. That said, all that’s really at risk is your email address being compromised since there’s no need to give them any of your payment information
your email is tied to all kinds of information though
In the uk/ireland your id/face is required.
No, substantially more data has been exposed. Additionally, we shouldn’t be accustomed to giving every single page our email or phone number.
@@progenitor_amborella I was referring to data at risk by signing up for a PSN account to play Helldivers 2
Great video. Will keep a look out for your future content. :)
I watched this video to write an English presentation on helldivers and wouldn’t have been able to do it without this video!
Yea Sony is a new faction. Super Earth been compromised. Everyone save Super Earth by doing your part in placing negative review. Lol
This boy is doing his part! Impressive content! It's an honour to fight alongside you galactic commander!
This is funny because the second galactic war was officially declared not that long ago

I can't wait for a video like this in a few years recapping our adventure through the entire war

@@Nikos. 🤣
@@noheroespublishing1907I heard they want all players on the same side, I say a training room would be nice
Fantastic history lesson for us the new generation of Helldivers. Please keep your great work going as the war rages on and become our Helldiver Historian. The containing lore of the second great war must but be continue to be recorded for Super Earth and Democracy.
my man forgot about northman's creek
@@majorplothole2620 i remember my experiences on Vandalon IV more than that fake ass “ptsd simulator” malevalon creek
Pretty excited for a few years from now when it’s going to read like an actual galactic war
Yo democratic video, have heard all the Halo conspiracies lately man, there surprising hope for Halo 7 and a very depressing ending for Halo Infinite
Speaking of Halo the ring is flat

I can't wait to enlist as a Helldiver, excited to do my part in the war efforts
considering the Lore of Helldivers it would be nice if it was optional to join a faction of "renegades" that oppose super-earth's "democracy"
That would be pretty cool
Do I hear treason? I hear treason
It would be cool though

*This was an, ABSOFUCKINLUTELY, great video! The Lore surrounding the Hell Divers universe, has the potential too become Infinite... Which is what makes it such a good "Live Service" game... Also, the Lore can be expanded on greatly, while coming up with your own stories & theories. The roleplay this game has is amazing, like you said I've never really seen a game have this big of a community of role players, besides DnD of course.*
*Keep up the good work & i would love to see some more videos about the universe of Hell Divers... Even if it's not cannon.*
Sorry, but I'm gonna have to report this to the Ministry of Truth.
This is so great. I am new to Helldivers and just started playing the 1st game on PS4. I'm getting more into it now thanks to your background. Why does this game remind me of Starship Troopers?
11:30 okay, that was a good one 😂😂😂
I love the detail of the Stalker pic starting out at a lower opacity, that got a good laugh!
It's a bit weird to watch our own lore unfold like this lol
Side noting the drama, Helldivers 2 truly was a legendary game with great developers and a great community. As much as I believe that Sony would do little change in their decisions, I do believe that it has caused damage upon its own brand and it’s trustworthiness.
Boy, do i have news for you
Possibly a hive mind like race? I wouldn’t even mind fighting a human faction. Like. A rebel group
I have to work on a roleplay from this game, your video was very very helpful, thank you.

The first war against the Cyborgs had started from a terrorist attack where 6 Super Earth citizens were killed, theres flavor text from the first game explaining how they join the war in a very short brief message you only see once.
