    So happy that you made this video, Harry, as it is an underrated stick! The previous version which is the Yonex Vcore SV 95 is actually my racquet of choice is even more powerful than the current Vcore 95 you presented! The main attraction is that ample put away power for a 95, that keeps me from playing with anything else!

    When I was still playing college tennis I switched from the 2016 ps97 to the vcore 95 when it came out in 2018 solely based off the specs. I couldn't resist as there was no other racket like this on the market at the time, a 95 with a lower flex and low twist weight. It's a players racket prime for customization with close to the perfect specs for myself at the time. Before even hitting with it I added a leather grip and a bunch of lead tape in the hoop and it surprisingly handled it well. I knew it was a gem. Eventually I settled on 6 grams at 12 o'clock, and maintained just a leather grip with an overgrip over it. What resulted was a powerful spin machine with a 353g static weight and a 312mm balance. Sadly I wish I had an rdc machine to measure the sw but oh well. Very nice stick indeed especially on the one handed backhand, just cuts through the air like butter

    I went from using a Pure Drive in 2004 to a Yonex RDX500 MP and then later the RDS001 mid. While I dont use them now I have always had a ton of respect for their racquets. Ill have to add this one to my list of racquets to demo.

    I totally agreed your suggestion for this racket. It provides the good control, feel and response in every single shot. But if I need to say the disadvantage here. Just the stability might be required to slightly improve.

  • @Soul_guided

    well, I can say exactly the same about 95sq.in head graphene 360+ prestige pro, that's a hidden gem! I suggest you try this racket along with vcore 95 and see how it plays, despite you marking the whole line of prestige as hard to play, in one of your videos))
    I'm playing with prestige pro for 3 weeks now and was shocked how does it play since the first stroke, very solid racket, stable on all strokes, fantastic feel, like classic buttery feel, it plays the same as any 97 or 98 sq.in in terms of a super forgiving and large sweet spot, very powerful due to the open 16x19 string pattern, the same time it's maneuverable and comfortable, easy on the arm, with decent control and precision. It didn't work for me on low tension 48-50lbs, a way too powerful, so I strung it for 52 lbs with solinco confidential 16L and it plays like at home for me. Might even go for 53lbs next time.
    I'm an intermediate player, not advanced at all, this is pretty much player racket, easy to use, very stable, comfortable to play, with a lot of power and decent plow, control, and unmatched feel. I was really doubting that I could play with 95 sq.in rackets, but now I'm in love with it.
    I'm looking forward to try Yonex vcore 95, it should be very close to prestige pro.
    One of the guys whose main racket is yonex vcore 95 after playtest with prestige pro said that prestige is more stable, powerful, and has the better feel - "The vcore 95 would be really close to this one. Where it would lose points in power and feel it would make up for in control and maneuverability. "

    I own both vcore 95 and the technifiber tf40 315 and have used them in 5.0 tournament play. They are my two favorite racquets. For me, the tf40 is better than the vcore 95. The both play almost exactly the same. They are equal in control, spin, and maneuverability. The tf40 315 just does everything a little better with a little less effort (volleys, serves, and ground strokes). Plus, the bigger head size is more forgiving. The only edge the vcore 95 has is with serve accuracy. Otherwise, they play almost exactly the same but the tf40 is just a little better and that makes a difference during matches. Both are great racquets. Definitely worth a side by side demo!

    Coincidentally, I found a pristine VCore 89 Tour yesterday for sale and took it for a try...What a great surprise...stiff, heavy as a sledge hammer, but gives great feel playing from the baseline. Demands fast strokes...and to my surpirse, my arm was not all that tired after it.

    • @evylsalamie
      @evylsalamie 3 роки тому

      Vcore tour 89 was my racket of choice the past 6-7 years or so. I decided on switching to the vcore pro 330 (2019) recently because I thought it was time to upgrade to a bigger headsize (and because Black Friday sale prices were too good to pass up). I'm honestly thinking of going back to the 89 if I can't dial in my vcore pro

    I’ve been playing with my ezone dr 98 for a while and just recently I switched to the blade 98 and immediately I was shaking a lot more because it felt way smaller despite being the same size. It must be the isometric head because every yonex stick feels bigger and more forgiving than other brands.

    You should do those racquet and strings reviews every week. It's pretty good to see opinions coming from you and the coaches, especially because of the tennis experience that you all have. And I'm sure, for obvious reasons, you got access to a lot of tennis stuff. As a suggestion, I would recommend a review of the vcore 97 310g, which I think may be kinda simmilar to the vcore 95.

    I just bought 2 of these because of so many glowing reviews! Tried the updated version with a splash of blue but i got this pre update version at runout prices (literally half the price of the new one) and strung it up with Yonex PolyTour Pro 1.20mm and on groundstrokes and volleys it feels great. Only gripe is on serve it lacked a little bit of spin for me compared to my Prince Phantom 100x 305 16x18 string pattern. The Prince serves bombs and gives me incredible spin, but there is something special about the Yonex Vcore 95 that i will continue to enjoy :)

    Just a thought IMHO is that when testing/trying out a racquet, try out hitting not only ground strokes but also volleys, serves - kick and flat, fh and bh on the run, bh and fh slice and drive volleys. Some racquets are good from the baseline but not for volleying or serving. When the pros switch to new racquets, they test hitting them in all areas of the game. Just a thought. Thanks.

    A hidden jem indeed, but less than before :)... my main racket for over a year now and totally agree with comments like doesn't feel like 95, feels like a pro-stock, great feel, different than other Yonexes, powerful and even better with some weight on the hoop... my specs are exactly what you measure (+/-1 gram, could be the strings or overgrip), and I have 3 rackets with same weight/balance bought at different times and different locations, which other brand can do this???... only knock is that it is not very forgiving for fast and hard serves, need to have the timing right... interesting to hear the comparison to new PS97, how does it compare actually?

    The Vcore 95 red is a between string pattern 16 x 20, could that be a difference? I've been hitting with Vcore 98 red 305 16x19 stock form since almost 2 years now and it really gives you a lot, a lot of spin blended with control to keep that ball in range, does not feel heavy and maybe needed a little bit more of free power, which is mentioned in this review of the 95.

    I’ve been using k factor Wilson blades and the kfactor 95 for EEEEEEEEEVER now. Both are different weight specs and have similar feel to ball pocketing with almost any strings I’ve used at 56lbs. However, recently I tried out a few different yonex rackets around the 315-330grams (unstrung) with a 62-65 stiffness rating and a 7-8pt heads light.
    My question is, why are yonex so string sensitive???? I strung the racket at 56lbs MSV Hex Focus Soft and my arm almost broke into pieces, and then again with 50lbs and STILL it felt like cardboard hitting balls! The off-centre shots are brutal and jarring, almost like the whole frame is bending or twisting.
    Have you had any customers giving you similar feedback? And is there a string and tension you recommend for someone that is 5.0 player?

      You can't say one is better than the other. For a definitive tiebreaker, 2 handed backhand---Tour better, 1 handed---95. If you are serve and volley--95 Vcore because it is 7 points HL, pure modern baseliner Tour bc of the 4 points HL. Like heavier rackets, the Tour. I bought a tour and tried it out, it's for sale on ebay now, I don't like the head balance but that's just me an older serve and volleyer who is used to Vcore pro 330 and HD and the 95, but if you tend to like sticks like the Blade, the Tour is more like that.

      I was playing the 95 leaded with 6 grams on the upper hoop but switched to the 98 recently with some lead as well and a change in base grip from the original Yonex, L3 on 95 vs L2 on 98, as I felt that for some reason the grip feels a bit larger compared to older Yonex.
      In feel, yes the 95 feels like it flexes a bit more and is more comfortable, but I decided to switch as I play on red clay and the 98 is easier to play with on off days. My only regret is not trying the 98 sooner and wasted time with other sticks.
      I never played with 2 different sticks at the same time but with these I think its doable, 95 for the hard courts and 98 for the clay.

Now I have to choose between the new ezone tour , pro staff 97 and vcore 95 since they look very similar ( mix between traditional and modern frame).

    Given it's a 95 and you play with 100, your default tension will be too tight for you. You needed to go about 45lbs with confidential.
    I can't use 100's, I find them too clunky. So coming from a 97, there's little difference using a 95.
    And this is why 95 on the mens tour isn't all that unusual. They are more maneuverable and obviously good players don't have issues hitting the sweet spot. They are usually rock solid without some of the twist issues that 100s can have!
    Sure these kinds of racquets aren't particularly designed for free power, that's the domain of 100s or thicker beam 98s.
    Keep hitting with it Kojak, drop the tension and you may have just found a new keeper.
    There have been a few decent 95s on the market in recent years. I guess unless shops steer costumers in that direction, they just sit waiting for 'players' to come and purchase!

  • @raresticks
    @raresticks 3 роки тому

    Guys, a few comments. This stick is quite well designed but it is definitely NOT powerful. If you play this in stock form you will be pinned well behind the baseline all day long. The control, touch and comfort are indeed amazing but it is in dire need of weight customization. By adding tungsten at 10 and 2 or 3 and 12 you can bring the weight up to a very playable 350g.
    I ran into a Yonex pro player rep a couple of years ago and he told me the reason they modified the SV 95 was to "soften it up" a bit.
    The downside is the stock form lacks most of the firepower of the SV. Which itself needs weight added to bring it up to the 335g range. I am hoping Yonex will re-evaluate this update and come out with a heavier stock version in the next iteration without sacrificing the mind blowing aerodynamics.
    A few of you commented on Shapo's glossy paint job. Yes, he plays a customized version of the SV 95. NOT the Vcore 95.
    Personally, I love the SV after customization. I string it with Tour Bite 16L at 54lbs and it transforms into is a beast for anyone with decent racket head speed. They are hard to find these days but hopefully Yonex will come out with something similar in 2021
    The one nice benefit of the current 95 is optimized touch and feel with the old-school flex added to the frame..

    • @trentmccormick6171
      @trentmccormick6171 3 роки тому

      Agreed. I think it's swing weight at least needs to be 330 or more. If you throw on a leather grip and a some lead on 9, 12, and 3 it'll feel heavy enough.

      @KreationPhotography 3 роки тому

      I dont agree. I use this racket together with the ezone 98 and i cannot see any difference in power between the 2 with same strings and same tension. If you have a flat stroke then is powerful enough, maybe if you are a topspin hitter then you may need to produce more power, maybe thats the thing.
