It's crazy how tastes differ from one person to another. I think the paint job is one of the best looking and smartly designed of the current racquets in the market.
thanks for the review. i just bought 6 of these and looking forward to balling with em. and tastes will vary person to person because i love this paintjob.
just got a vcore 95 and loved it, the spin potential is nice. slice doesn't bounce and through, and serve has that pop including insane kick serve from using this racquet that doesn't sit up. It has the right weight balance and good grip that fit my hand. I loved this racquet. I have completely difference experience than Mark probably because I have different swing technique maybe that's why. But I do appreciate Mark trying to be honest from his point of view but keep in mind, his swing technique will greatly affect his review of any racquet he uses as well.
My 2021 prediction (nightmare, more like) is that Every Yonex racquet line going forward, whatever colour it may be, will have the Yonex "Blue" splash in the throat :-I It's Yonex's interpretation of Tennis Racquet Harakiri .... Somethings never change.
I've watched every VCORE 95 youtube reviews and this is the most in depth and brutally honest review online. The side panel pros and cons were a nice touch. I own the previous version and it's a dream one hander stick, but it really needs some lead tape at the 3 and 9 area for added stability and power. Hope you review more racquets in this way.
Totally agree! Format is excellent. Did you play some points with Christian after the warm-ups? It might also be interesting to hear what your hitting partner thought about any differences he noticed in the balls he was seeing coming at him. Also would be nice to see a rematch ;)
Great and thorough review!!! I'd put you up there with TennisNerd, Team-Tennis, and My Tennis HQ, but you may be even more thorough. Keep it up! Would have been interesting to hear your take on the Ezone 98 vs this one.
Love your detailed, clear, and unbiased review! For all of those curious about the old SV95, I have already used it extensively for several months. What I liked about it: Awesome serving racquet (flat and spin), easy to flatten out forehands with put away power without sacrificing control. What I less liked: Lack of spin potential on groundstrokes, small sweetspot, volleys, defensive situations, serve returns, slice could sit up if I don’t put enough weight. Therefore, based on Mark’s VC95 2021 review, the SV95 and VC95 2021 do share some similarities!
Best review on this racket out there!!! An unbiased review that does not trying to trick you with marketing gimmicks. Good job Mark. I totally agree with you on the review, and the colours as well. Yonex in general makes excellent rackets. However, my racket of choice remains the same..... EZONE 98.
I love the transparency, how in depth, unbiased, and the edits to this review. Subscribed. Looking forward to more racquet reviews from you, my guy. 👍🏼
Mate this is probably one of the funniest reviews I have ever seen and I had to subscribe to see what else man makes! However this review was greatly appreciated because I’m actually looking to upgrade to the new model and his honesty was greatly appreciated. 👌🏽💯
Mark, great review and I very much enjoyed the intricate detail on the play test. A few comments and suggestions. World #12 Shapovalov is definitely NOT using this frame paint job or not. He plays the original VCORE SV 95 version (2017) first disguised as the previous VCORE 95 and now presumably by the 2021 in your review. As for the slight torsional stability on the service return I recommend customizing with tungsten weighting. At 10.9oz unstrung, the production specs leave plenty of room for adding significant weight in the head according to preference. If you try stringing with original Tour Bite@54lbs. you will see the MASSIVE spin potential with this setup. The string movement and velocity of snapback during contact is far more important than the 16x20 string pattern when bringing out the spin potential of a frame. According to Yonex this attribute was specifically engineered into the new grommet system in the 2021 version.
Thanks for your review .. I’m using the vcore 98 and I’m thinking to switch to the 95 .. my style is aggressive and I try to close points ASAP using slice serves, attacking shots, volleys and dropshots .. do you think 95 is a good option ?? To help better understanding I’m a 57 years old, 4.2 level. Thanks in advance ..
Thanks! You've basically confirmed what i also felt about this racket. I asked the shopowner for heavy racket with spin potential and found out while testing it doesn't provide that.
I like your comment on "feels like it's a 1 Hnd backhand" I know that characteristic, some rackets really does feel like it's made for a specific backhand.
Hey Mark great video. You're a hero for proving smaller size can perform better when you know how to use it wink wink. Having a smaller head size and under average length myself, I quite enjoyed it.
Great Review! I am currently demoing this racket and agree with your issues on spin(serve specifically) and ball pocketing. I am planning on reducing the string tension some (from 52 to 49 maybe?) and adding lead tape to the head. Hopefully these updates will help with those issues.
Great review, thanks for that one. I am really thinkink about to switch to that racket (the other two options are: Yonex Ezone 98 and Wilson Blade 18 x20). I recently sold my Pure Aeros (the trajectory how balls get out of the stringbed was too high and also not so much feel). I play one handed backhands and do like to do 2nd kick serves/ silices serves. So, what should I do/buy now after your review? Greetings from Heidelberg
Try demoing as many rackets as you can in my honest opinion! I would say the VCore 95 might be perfect for you, but you say that you rely heavily on second serves... try lowering the tension of thte VCore 95 by a few kilos OR use a shaped copoly string.
EZONE 2020 Deep Blue Tour or 100 is a beauty of a racquet. It took one swing of my one-hander ( 7:20 Oh, sh!t! Was typing this and you are feeling the same way about the VCOre 95, Mark!) with the 100 that a student was testing (she hated it) for me to fall in love with it. The contact WAS like a dream--so pure. Not sure I'd felt that sort of love since my Head Edge TXE days. Yonex is doing themselves proud lately. This coming from a guy that always hated Yonex because of the square frame and the ugly green buttcap (but that didn't keep me from a cutthroat competition of rock-paper-scissors with my fellow ballboys for Vince Van Patten's cracked R-27 with frayed cat gut that I still have for no logical reason to this day!).
Mark, Thank you for the review - really interesting. In terms of spin potential how does a 16x20 in a 95sq inch head compare to an 18x20 in a 98sq inch head?
Been playing with the VCore 95 for a few months now (alongside over a dozen other frames). Great frame--second favorite and probably the one I'm best with. The slight lack of spin can be remedied with good, soft spin strings (like the Vokyl Cyclone), as can the depth by stringing just a little lower. Or adding a bit of weight because it is just a bit light (though still amazingly stable considering its base swingweight--there's nothing else that light on the market that feels good on the arm that is still stable).
Excellent content and loved the honest talk; I wish to replace my prostaff 95 and was thinking to get either Dunlop srixon 200 tour 16*19 or the Yonex Vcore 95 . Mark by any chance you have played with the Dunlop ?
So, Mark, what is the best (old or new) racquet for you and why? What racquet are you using in match play now and does using it have you looking for another one (and if so, why)?
Amazing review! Thank you as I’ve been looking to demo this one. In your opinion where would the old RDS series sit in the current line of Yonex racquets? I’ve been still playing with the 2006 RDS003 for the last 15 years even though I demo the new releases every single year but they just don’t feel the same.
i would love comparison videos. i know that's asking a lot but it is the best way to understand a product imo. like v core 97 vs the blade 98 would be a great video. or maybe also vs this 95.
Good review. Strong opinions. Like the suggestion to Yonex of a 16x19 version of this frame. Folks out there, I have not hit with the 2021 vcore 95, but I have hit with the other versions and the vcore sv 95 is a winner, as is the slightly heavier vcore sv 98 (both are 16x20). The vcore sv 100 is a 10.6 oz 100sq inch frame (so lighter) and I'd call it similar to a Pure Drive, but easier on the arm despite its high RA stiffness and with better feel. These can all be found for good prices on eBay.
That is why I like the wilson pro staff 97 the rf version is actually the same racket Roger Federer actually plays with apart from 5 grams of lead under the top bumper. The rest is just his specific string setup, with stringelings and the little leather cussions on the bottem bridge. Roger could go to a local shop buy his racket playing with his specs within the hour. Other brands use pro stock frames available for pro's to be customised/tuned by an official string technician. A standard pro stock only weighs 250 grams with no balance one way or the other. These rackets don't play anything like your normal off the rack model, Which look the same.
This is a really good, detailed review. You get into areas the majority of reviewers don't get to, and that chronic racket switchers like myself can truly appreciate lol! If you have the time and enthusiasm, I think you should do a whole lot more of these because I'd certainly add you to the likes of Karue and Tennis Nerd and the top frame YT testers/reviewers and channels etc... And now for the inevitable question... er, what frame are you currently using? :-)
I really want that Vcore. I just can’t decide whether 98 or 100. My current racket is Head Radical MP (2017). I consider myself as a beginner but I have a coach a try to work my way up. It’s going pretty good and I can keep up with boys who play longer than me. I suck at serving that’s my weakness. I serve like a guy who holds racket for the first time.
Please do a review of your current Ezone 98. Did you customize your frame in any way? I tried the Ezone 98. I did not agree with it, but thought it was a great frame.
Wow, really great job on the review. I am 4.5 level super strong baseline player who plays whit the previous version of this racket string whit weiss canon ultra cable , and like you said I want more spin potential but I really don't want more power. I just don't know where to look? Please do you have an idea for me?
Added weight tape and this is the best racket I've ever used, I think yonex is one of those companies that understand you can easily add a couple grams but you can lose it so the stock form is little light.
Hi Mark! Thanks for an awesome review. I just start playing with the new Vcore 95 but I feel that I need to reconsider my string setup. I wold like to add some more power and bite (currently playing with technifibre IceCode 1.25). Do you have any recommendation of a string that perhaps could be worth trying? All the best!
generally speaking the softer the poly the more power you will get but less ball bit/control there are always tradeoffs. Stiff polys are great for control but dont offer much in the way of power. You can always try a hybrid of poly in the mains and than your choice of synthetic gut in the crosses, the softer the more power once again.
You should find previous VC95 cause of the better feel and ball connection. Also it is well known that VC95 needs lead at 3/9 for more stability. I owned your 2020 ezone 98 but it was very difficult on my 1HB.... i didn’t have confidence staying on rallies. It excelled on serves as most yonex racquets. DR98 and ai98 had better feel. To me your are a blade 16x19/ radical MP type of player :)
Would poly tour spin be a good choice for this racket? If so, what tension? I demoed this racket with poly tour pro and it felt good with a dampener but I’m looking more bite as I hit with topspin. Thanks.
Thank you Mark, can you do more reviews about rackets, with swinging practice as demo. Especially about flex vs firm rackets, 18x20 vs 16x19, etc. Lots of people are still searching around for this. (Me - as an example :) )
I know everyone on youtube thinks they're a tennis coach, and you are already a high level player but I think moving a little closer to the baseline would make you tougher to beat!
Do you think will be a good idea to switch from Prince exo3 tour 100 18x20 to this frame? I believe it is kind of similar, but a bit less spin friendly.
@@MarkSansait Why? Will I get more control using the vcore 95? I feel like prince lacks a bit of control and stability, however I started to use it after an elbow injury I had using the prostaff RF 97. I was using an old prestige mp, the youtek version, I switched to prostaff RF and I had the injury, too much weight, then I switch to prince racket, but I am not feeling connected to the ball.
Ever tried a prince phantom 93? Its a dying breed but mann is it a special piece of gear. Give it a demo, you will be pleasantly surprised. The 18x20 is the way to go
HI great review, so much clear and genuinne insight! I have been playing with 2018 model for 2 years now and recently started playing with this, and liked most parts more than 2018 version. I agree with all your comments regarding flat shots, one handed backhands (drive or slice, much better than 2018 model), arm friendliness, stability and volleys (much better than 2018 model), some hollowness feel, spin potential.. I thought for serves it didnt cut through the air as good as thinner older version, but still good enough ... I think it needs to be strung low for more pocketing and added some weight to hoop for stability, which I have done and will keep playing with this until I do the switch.. I presume you played stock form without any weight? Did you measure the weight and swing weight, as many people (including myself) have received under-spec products, weights around low 320s and swing weight around low 310s.
2:07 I never understood why people get upset tour players dont actually use the rackets they endorse. Of course they are going to be customized to their liking, they are one of the best players in the world, why should they use the same racket that a 15 year old JV high schooler uses. Plus if you use a racket because a tour player endorses it then that means you should educate yourself more about how to pick a tennis racket.
Thanks for your thoughts! I guess for me it might be a personal bias. I remember about 3 years ago a lot of tennis retailers (online and physical) had marketing statements say "Players that Use This Racket" and have the stock form of Babolat Pure Aero. I actually thought every pro literally used THAT racket until I was about 16 or 17 because I was blinded by the dishonest marketing. I can completely understand that if thats actually the racket that the pro uses and customized.... but in reality Nadal definitely does NOT use that marketed racket. Personally the purer form of honest marketing would be "Players that Endorse This Racket" and not "Players that Endorse/Use This Racket"
Have you tried que 2018 version? If you did can i have some difference between them? Better if we can have a video of it😍 Really nice video, respect for the honesty
For a heavy topspin player with a one handed backhand which racket or rackets would you recommend? I’m using an extreme tour with hyper g. With this string it feels pretty good but with stiffer strings it feels jarring.,
Nice review man. It’s difficult for me to get a good feel when I try out new sticks at my club. Everything feels terrible. I think it’s bc mine has quite a bit of customizations
now this is the review I like. No filter, honest, very helpful to the buyer and no marketing gimiks. If you really play tennis and has plans of changing rackets, this the review you need to see.
Thanks so much Sean!
It was an awesome review. Excited to see more.
Which racket is your current go to?
It's crazy how tastes differ from one person to another. I think the paint job is one of the best looking and smartly designed of the current racquets in the market.
Agreed...
I totally disagree with this guys view on the red, I love the metallic dark red mixed with the light red. One of the best colors for this line up.
I think the paint job of the latest Vcore is the best paint job of all the yonex rackets
Yeah I really like how it looks.
it’s my favorite racket paint of all time
thanks for the review. i just bought 6 of these and looking forward to balling with em. and tastes will vary person to person because i love this paintjob.
A little lead at 3, 9 and 12 and this racket really comes into it's own. Fixes most of the issues you had with it.
I can definitely see that!
Did you use 1/2 in or 1/4 in weight strips? Like 2g each side or 4g? Thx
Mark, you a REAL ONE for the honest reviews! keep em coming please. that swift and a miss was hilarious 🤣
Will do!

Nice review! Just ordered one, coming from vcore pro 97 310, looking for more pop and less drag on OHB.
I've watched every VCORE 95 youtube reviews and this is the most in depth and brutally honest review online. The side panel pros and cons were a nice touch. did you watch tennis hq one??
i use a six one 95 18x20 and it’s 360 grams strung. I really like the weight of that. i’m strong
Totally agree! Format is excellent. Did you play some points with Christian after the warm-ups? It might also be interesting to hear what your hitting partner thought about any differences he noticed in the balls he was seeing coming at him. Also would be nice to see a rematch ;)
I played him in a full match.
2 hours of hitting around
2 hours of a singles match
@@MarkSansait How’d it go?
🤣, I love Mark's opinion on the paint job. He cracks me up
The paint job is tacky and over exaggerated. I prefer simple and classic.

Great and thorough review!!! I'd put you up there with TennisNerd, Team-Tennis, and My Tennis HQ, but you may be even more thorough. Keep it up! Would have been interesting to hear your take on the Ezone 98 vs this one.

@Mark Sansait, what would you recommend as the best alternatives for Yonex Vcore 95?
Great Review! I am currently demoing this racket and agree with your issues on spin(serve specifically) and ball pocketing. I am planning on reducing the string tension some (from 52 to 49 maybe?) and adding lead tape to the head. Hopefully these updates will help with those issues.

(Also I'm in the "it's fugly" camp but I've been overcoming this for months with the help of my therapist.)

@@MarkSansait pure aero vs is great racquet but in OHBH it's stronger sensation I have never felt it
I really want that Vcore.
Such a great review! Would you be able to review the vcore hd Pro? Thanks!
Just bought this stick. Love it so far, but not switching yet from the Ezone 98.
love my heavy six one 95

Great video as always mark 👍in the future could you review the new pure drive?
Wait, but when Shapovalov hit the umpire, he was using a wilson six one 95 18x20 not a yonex. lmaooo
Stop ruining my comedy with facts, please
lmao
Wow, really great job on the review. I am 4.5 level super strong baseline player who plays whit the previous version of this racket string whit weiss canon ultra cable , and like you said I want more spin potential but I really don't want more power. I just don't know where to look? Please do you have an idea for me?
1) You can try lowering your tension by 5-10lbs.
2) Try the VCore pro line from yonex
Added weight tape and this is the best racket I've ever used, I think yonex is one of those companies that understand you can easily add a couple grams but you can lose it so the stock form is little light.
Where did you add the weight and how much grams?
I love the honesty but i love the color choice here. IDK Red and blue looks great but then again i'm a NYG fan too lol
Would poly tour spin be a good choice for this racket? If so, what tension? I demoed this racket with poly tour pro and it felt good with a dampener but I’m looking more bite as I hit with topspin. Thanks.
Awesome review! More racquet reviews!
Will do evo18!
Different frames imo. Stick with the prince
The 18x20 is the way to go
Nice review!! keep up the quality...
Thank you kindly!
Can you comapre this raquette with yonex dr 98 in terms of control , power and stability? Nice review!
Very good review, honest and spot on. By the way, how do you see it against Head Radical MP 2021 version?
Fine job on the review. Nice backhand. Kinda reminds me of my own.😲🙂
HI great review, so much clear and genuinne insight!
Verdell, what new strings did you use in your racquet ?
Seriously the best review I’ve ever seen
Thanks so much 🙏🙏🙏
2:07 I never understood why people get upset tour players dont actually use the rackets they endorse.
Nice review 👍
Can you do a similar video about Ezone98? I'm between Ezone98 and Head graphene 360+ speed mp. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Hehe I am thinking about reviewing my own tennis racket, the Yonex EZone98 (2020) version.
Do you want that?
@@MarkSansait Oh Yeap
Would love to see your feedback on how this racket performs with some lead... Perhaps a heavier grip too. Great content.
Have you tried que 2018 version?
If you did can i have some difference between them?
Better if we can have a video of it😍
Really nice video, respect for the honesty
Also if the only downside was a lack of spin potential, that can be fixed by using a thinner string. Probably 1.25 gauge.
For a heavy topspin player with a one handed backhand which racket or rackets would you recommend? I’m using an extreme tour with hyper g. With this string it feels pretty good but with stiffer strings it feels jarring.,
There is a new extreme tour coming out later this year. Hope they change the color and maybe make it more arm friendly maybe adding auxetic.
I also bought a vcore pro 100 and testing it with different strings to see but not convinced yet in terms of spin.
Try vcore 98
Nice review man. It’s difficult for me to get a good feel when I try out new sticks at my club. Everything feels terrible. I think it’s bc mine has quite a bit of customizations
I‘d love to see a review on the Ezone Tour in comparison to this one! Love the video!
I am asking some of my Yonex contacts about demoing it!
This racket needs a thinner gauge string (1.20 or thinner). That's why you probably felt it didn't have "bite"
Do you sell the rackets after you review them and don't plan to use them further?
I'll answer this in my Q and A for this Saturday morning!
Maybe I missed it, but did you have the racquet strung at 55 #? What string? Thanks.
Its in the description I believe.
