  • THERE, THERE YOU HAVE IT!! You ask, we deliver, with a bit of delay but we do :) Guys if this video doesn’t get like 10k views in the first day, we’re quitting. All jokes aside tho, what a frame! Yonex Vcore 95, an absolute beast, if it fits you and your playing style. Talking about fitting, it fits one of us like a glove and the other one didn’t write this caption. What a racket! The small, smallest head size of the rackets that we’ve covered so far, combined with the unusual but I'm starting to like more and more string patterns and all the tech that Yonex being Yonex implements in their rackets makes this one of my favorite frames. This was a very run-on sentence with several grammatical errors that one of us would never write (because he hated the racket). At this point, I'm not even describing the Vcore 95 but just chilling in the description section. Nobody reads this anyway. If you do, let me know.

    AYYYY LETS GOOOO glad to see my comment got featured in the intro😂
    “in yonex we trust” is truly a quote for the ages. nice video, high quality as always. you guys did not disappoint on this highly anticipated review🙌🙌
    anyways, i’m a college player who recently started playing with the 2018 vcore 95. my fellow teammates and i call this racquet the “banger machine” because you’re able to flatten the sh!t out of the ball and it STILL stays in the lines. but yes, you guys are correct: the 95 sq inch head and the 16/20 string pattern is perfect for attacking players who want to stay in control of the point and don’t want the racquet to give them any free power... and although it isn’t a spin machine, you can still get away with some topspin. plus, the sweet spot feels pretty generous for a 95.
    however, the fact that this racquet is very unforgiving with the sweet spot (especially on defense where extra power is needed), and at this level where everyone is a spin machine... i’m considering using the new 2022 ezone 98.
    p.s.
    i love your guy’s channel (honestly my favorite) because you’re not biased to sell a product like tennis warehouse, and you guys are actually high skilled players which bridges that gap for viewers like me to be able to hear opinions from people like you who play that modern power game and aren’t just recreational players, elderly players, or people who think they’re good just because they have a youtube channel #NoShade #AllLove 😂😂. plus you guys are really funny. keep it up! 🤝👍

      @@gladiatorstribe Honestly, most content on YT is provided by either coaches, who aren't necessarily great players, or just rec players altogether - you guys certainly are niche. and fill a gap. Think if you start adding more instructional videos on technique/strategy/fitness (I saw some of your earlier vids on this) then I think you'll capture a wider audience than just as racketholics ;)

    Great review and thanks for the early Xmas present! I totally agree with all the points by both of you. It is a demanding racquet which forces the player to be very dedicated with their training to ensure they have very good footwork and technique. I find it is a frame that requires customisation, I have tried several setups and find 1.5g of lead tape at 9 and 3 for stability with volleys and only 1g at 12 position for jut a bit more pop and plough through. Lastly a hybrid string setup with this works best at about 48lbs tension as it is a stiff frame and no dampener but a rubber band works best for feedback. Anyway all in all a good objective review, top job and enjoy the Xmas period!

    Hey Glads, I currently use a Pure Drive 2018 and I hit with a lot of spin in my shots. As I've progressed, I feel the power is too much for me and I'd like to shift to a more control-oriented racquet that would still support my highly-western topspinny (if that’s a word, but u know what i mean 🤦🏽😆) forehand. I have a flat backhand tho, so am a little bit worried to shift to the Aero. I am currently looking at the 2022 Boom MP and Speed MP, also Pure Aero *VS* and Vcore 98 on the side. A general suggestion for a frame would be good from you guys 😄 Thank you!

    In Yonex we trust, with Head we play.
    At least it seems to work with you guys, and me, by coincidence. I've tried the 2018 Vcore 95, but preferred to stick to my 2019 Head Prestige Pro.
    Both are not forgiving at all, but the Prestige with a bit of lead at 12 o'clock had way more spin and power. Sweetspot is still small for sure. Anyway, you should be 4.5 and up to use both in the match play. And, for my flat OH BH, both felt great, with more precision on the side of Head.
    Guys, keep up the good work! С наступающим :)

    Great video! I’m my opinion this stick it’s quite forgiving for a 95, I move to this from a blade 98 (18x20) so I find this thing more powerful than the blade… Also for me the balance has done wanders to my one hand backhand…
    But yeah…. Is a demanding stick, demand that you move well and not meet the ball late all the time, so if you want to end the match very tired, you need this racket, if not, better the ezone or the 98/100
    But overall, the sweetspot it’s about the as big as the vcore pro 97 (in my opinion)

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  2 роки тому

    • @nicolasuribe7694
      @nicolasuribe7694 2 роки тому

      @@gladiatorstribe and btw, in my opinion this racket plays better with some lower tension,
      I always strung my old blade 2015 & v7 18x20 always strung to 23kg… so given the head difference I drop to 21kg for the 95… and after some hours of play (or 20kg in the strings) the racket gives some more power and spin… and also, I thinks need some lead at 10-2 or 3-9 to improve twist on heavy/power balls

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  2 роки тому +1

      @@nicolasuribe7694 Lower tension could benefit those who miss power and spin in this one, which is probably the case for most. Though I (Grisha) didn't really feel any lack for my game. Areg would probably enjoy a lower tension way more though.

      @@gladiatorstribe Yup. The Ultra Pro (the 97 sq. Inch model) is a complete opposite to the other rackets in the Ultra Line. It’s got a 18x20 string pattern, flexible buttery feel, and has less power than some Head Prestige rackets (might need to consider adding some lead to the head).
      In my mind, the only thing it shares with other rackets in the Ultra line are the name and paint job. Quite weird and unique, no?

    I feel that everyone harps on the 95 inch aspect too much. Lay it directly over a 100” Pure Aero. You’ll see it’s actually slightly wider at one point near the top and almost identical everywhere else above the 9-3 line.
    Only in the lower half is it actually narrower. I feel like if you’re hitting the ball that far down the string bed on any racquet you’re likely going to lose the point. As Grisha said, he normally plays with a dampener but doesn’t with the Vcore 95. When you add up the wasted space with a dampener on a Pure Aero, vs a Vcore 95 without one, the 95 actually has way more useable space.
    Serious request Can someone please take a look at an overlay of this 95 vs any traditional 100” racquet and share why the lower half of the string bed is contributing so much to the skill threshold of using this racquet?

    • @K4R3N
      @K4R3N 2 роки тому +1

      I've laid it over my 360+ Speed Pro and at the top and sides of the hoop it's pretty close to the head shape of Speed Pro. Where there is significant difference is the lower part of the hoop, the Speed Pro has more hitting area lower in the loop (closer to throat)

    • @curttheboywonder
      @curttheboywonder 2 роки тому

      @@K4R3N thank you so much for the feedback. So it sounds about the same as my Pure Aero. So I guess the question remains. Are decent players mishitting that low on the stringbed so often to make the Vcore 95 so difficult to use? Generally when I frame a ball it’s in the upper hoop, 2-3” away from where I intended. Not 8 inches low.
      I can see on serve return just trying to get any area of the stringbed on some of these 100+ mph monster serves. But that’s not what reviewers seem to focus on either

    • @sjjapp
      @sjjapp 2 роки тому

      @@curttheboywonder you're hopefully not hitting the bottom part of the hoop too often sure. But that's missing the point when it comes to forgivness and launch etc. The strings have more distance to cover in a larger head and the wider the space between strings and the more open the pattern the more the ball will push into the stringbed. This is a big reason why a small head head size with less space between the strings is more accurate and why a larger one generally has more power/spin etc. Other factors all go into this as well of course. These things are more of the sum rather than any individual thing determine the end result itself.
      My point is that a vcore 95 while very forgiving/powerful etc for a 95 is still very much a 95. You should get a bigger sweetspot with the ezone 98 and definitely with the ezone 100 (maybe why Shapo trying the ezone 98 along with some other reasons).

    I had the exact same experience as you (Grisha) word for word. This racket produces a good ball but demands you move your feet or be punished. I bought into the hype and im experiencing buyers remorse. The forgiveness was exaggerated. And if it's for the attacking player, why does it feel so bad on volleys ?? If it needs customization, there are better rackets to lead up.
