  • Reviewing my 2002 Infiniti Q45, much more bang for buck than your boring old Lexus LS 430! I kid I kid! With the Q's smooth ride and bright, airy interior this car is a real pleasure to drive. Just keep an eye on your speed because it can get away from you very easily.
This car was Infiniti's flagship car in 2002 and originally cost about 60,000 dollars. At the time of this video you can find a nice example for around 5000.

I have a 2003 version of this car and it's a dreamy ride on the highway. It's pretty fast, and composed and it's a sophisticated car considering how old it is. It's a terrific car for the money if you drive long distances and want your back not to hurt. The heated seats are terrific for your lower back and lumbar support. It soaks up the miles and remains very composed. It has good road hugging weight. The only issue is the cost of parts if you need them. Very nice car that is essentially a Japanese Limo.

I have a 2003 Q45 Premium trim--love the heated and cooled seats. I've test-driven two 2004 Lexus 430s and I was surprised they felt inferior to the Q45. My car just feels a bit bigger, higher quality and more powerful. You mentioned the shocks--I had my front suspension replaced at the dealer and new actuators were not available. But they were able to just use the old ones. As for oil consumption, yes, I've had my car for 6 years and it does consume a quart every 3,000 miles. But it's a smooth and powerful engine. Acceleration is excellent not only from start but also in the mid range or indeed from any speed.

I kept the 2017 G90 because the 2019 was the same car, but when they changed it in 2020 I had to have one. The day they finally got ONE at the dealer I looked and fell in love. Only problem is to get the color exterior and interior I want I have to order it (I did and have a 2 to 3 month wait). The last car I ordered was a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi. Most I impulse buy off the showroom floor. The 2002 Q45 was like that. I went and looked and they had black one with Latte Interior (the same color interior as yours) and I bought it for a very good price since the 2003's were due in about three months. It was a very nice car but I had to drive home from work in a major snowstorm and the RWD scared the s**t out of me. Went to the Infiniti dealer that weekend and bought an FX45 AWD off the showroom floor. That was a fun car too. I liked Infinities, but when the dropped the full size Q I had to go elsewhere. Had a couple of Audi's and a Hyundai Genesis (before it became a separate marque). My dream car is a Bentley Continental GT but my wife put her foot down on that one. That's not too bad but that W-12 engine is a time bomb and keeping a 10 year old Bentley on the road would break the bank. I'll stick to new cars with warranty. Mine doesn't have that option. I dont have a backup camera or adjustable rear seat. Many companies make coilovers for the q45/cima. The bc coilovers have 26 adjustments built into them. I'm on 18 clicks on the front and 12 clicks on the rear. Making the rears softer. I drift mine so need extra grip in the rear. Collins adapters make the plate to swap to manual transmission. Need to find the pins on the transmission harness to fool the ecu into thinking it's in neutral. Bc coilovers offers extreme low coilovers and spring rates at no extra charge too

In Japan the f50 q45 is a nissan cima. The f50 Nissan president is very similar. With a different hood grille and trunk. The trunk is cool. No license plate indentation because the license plate is integrated into the bumper. It also has a longer thin chrome strip without any writing on it. And big PRESIDENT writing where the license plate would be. The cima / president's have thinner bumpers too. They look really sexy. I've owned a couple generations of the q45's. -standard AWD and AWS (all wheel steering) system
