And regarding the audio system I mentioned, the 2006-2010 M sedan received the best Audio system that Infiniti has ever offered. And it is is this generation of the M that took over after the Q45 ended production in 2006.
The Bose audio system on the q45 was amazing in 2002
I just bought a 2005 Q45 100k miles for 10k and I freaking love it
I got a 2004 Infiniti q45 86k miles loving it for 6600
Thinking about getting an 02 any advice on what to look out for and possibly fix etc
@@jonathansantamaria507 Thinking about getting an 02 any advice on what to look out for and possibly fix etc
I was in college and was absolutely enamored by the 1992 Q45 and television commercials that were classy and done in good taste that truly sold the car.
Those were some sweet cars for sure!
I remember thinking that the advertising was clever but way too abstract for its target market. The early commercials didn't even show the car.
When my parents finally saw the car they were underwhelmed. They got an LS.
Love to see one of those commercials from back then. I have some faint memories of them. An actor that played a part as Al Pachino’s client in Glen Gary Glen Ross was the spokesperson for Infiniti on those commercials at the time in the early 90’s right ? …..
My friend had a ‘93 back in 1995. He put upgraded brakes, wheels, tires, a cold air intake and a first gear chip from Stillen in it. To this day I can say it was one of the best driving cars I have ever driven or rode in. Amazingly solid car.
I owned a 2003 Q45 I bought used with only 88k in 2010. Beautiful car !
hi
I am the happy owner of the NISSAN CIMA VIP model from the 2010 year
Inifiti Q45 is like a little older brother of my Car. From the Outside Looks really like the Infiniti Q45 Premium version
This model was made ONLY for the Japanese market in the years 02.2008 to 06.2010.
It's a little longer than previous models of Nissan CIma and Infiniti
I have all extras You said in this movie, of course, + many, many more toys like an Adaptive light and adaptive cruise control, and several types of messages on one of the back site-+ dunno how to explain that in English proper but a front passenger site part of the backrest can be folded down and the rear passenger can stretch out his legs.
The car is in amazingly good condition with only 98,000 miles
As you rightly noticed, the Infiniti Q45 is a wrongly forgotten flagship model..let alone the Nissan CIma Vip?
I'm pretty sure very few people commenting here have even heard of such a car 8-)
The obvious downside of my car is, unfortunately, the Japanese language in the AUdio system
NTSC TV, radio up to 90MHZ and subtitles in Japanese.
I managed with the subtitles by simply using google translate on my phone.
I bought a frequency converter for the radio and an NTSC to Pal secam converter for the TV.
I'm just about to install these upgrades.
Maybe I'll make a video about my car
Maybe any one of You want to see my car?
If just a few persons answer me YES I will make some movie about it ..Greetings to everyone who comments here under this movie about this so rare and perfect car
Definitely my guy! Would love to see it!
@@thalo9237 hi thx for that..I little upgraded my Nissan..already installed a modern Eonon after marker radio with 10,4-inch screen + next subwoofer and a few sound speakers- this all is an INDEPENDED sound system 8-).I removed the tape recorder and ash and installed it in this place..so now I have all modern toys with blootooh, wifi and all other shit in this beautiful car :P.So now I have a Bosse system with 18 speakers inside - can listen to it some radios till 90 MHZ and cd and modern radio with 4 speakers and active subwoofer for Eonon.. sounds good?..
Why I did that??.NOBODY..REALLY nobody wanted to install in this car aftermarket radio because they don't know how.. in ENTIRE BRISTOL the "best: companies..ech no comment.. So because I don't had any electronic plans for it decided to make the independent system.Looks cool and really quite good quality..not so good as Bosse but still all right..
Infiniti made some beautiful cars. The first M there was like nothing else. reminded me of like what buick rivera done back in the day with the boat tail. All the Q45s except the 266 hp one were great looking. I think what messed it up for me was seeing both 03 Q45 and Lexus LS430 side by side like in 2008. The Q had little interior items that were broken. stepped over to the LS430 and everything was perfect. I always love that the Q45s had the powerful engines.
I had a 2002 Q45 and loved that car. It was a very reliable and fun car to drive.
I own a 2005 Q45 i got with super low miles in 2016. I have loved it from the start and am so happy i did, every single day i look at it sparkling. I keep it clean inside and out, and meticulously maintained. Fyi, good luck finding these cars… in 2005 infiniti sold 1,193 of them… in 2006 it was a hair over 400 cars. Theres simply none of them out there. Disclosure: i also own a 1993… the modern one is superior in every respect, except the 93 will get more attention as its more distinguished. The modern one looks like a bigger stronger M45.
I own a 2002 Q45S
Overall a good car. Here are problems I encountered.
dont like the key, trying to hard to be cute.
crankshaft/camshaft sensors failure causing stalling, not fun.
what's with the trunk struts? difficult to change.
reclining rear seats and rear sunvisors, when they fail, good luck.
Great video learned a few things. I picked uo a low mile meticulously maintained 05 q45 from a good friends mom. I wish it was the premium package but it is what it is.
You sound like the exact situation and deal i got
Always great content! Keep it coming
Thanks!
Another great vid! I loved the gattling gun style headlights when these came out back then!
I had no idea these were the brightest in the world at the time!
I love my 2006 Infiniti Q45s! I didn’t care for all the bells and whistles like laser nav, rear tilt seats, and pull-out shades because it only adds frustration when it breaks. I like the single-tone steering wheel with matching beige gear shift. I also like the rev-matching feature they added for the final year. It’s an absolute Q-ship! Keeping it OEM Plus!
2003 was definetly a pivotal year for Infiniti, with the release of the M, the G, and the FX crossover.
I have one here in Michigan. Getting new front struts now. 296k.
196k that is. Q 45 Premium! One of the last in the States...
Amazing summary of a great vehicle. I still have my 2003 Infiniti I35 with 40000 miles still drives smoothly with heated front and rear seats 😊
That’s awesome!
I have my beloved 04 i35 with 157k miles but I think I have to get rid of it soon since I just got my 05 q45 which is much more of a unicorn itself. The i35 has a bad exhaust leak and oil leak but man does it still drive like a dream..
Good pick again... there was an M45 around this era that was billed as the Japanese Muscle Car
Yea really liked this era of car and always fascinating to see what kind of options these cars came with for the time
The M was quick as hell for its day. It was like a weight reduced Q with same engine.
I have the Japanese version of this car, which they made up until 2010, mine is a 2009 VIP trim package which includes active dampers, rear tv etc. Mine has 185,000km and needs timing chains, but the engine is spotless inside, I only knew because the spark advance is out of spec, no codes etc.
Hey, it's my car :) I own a 2005 model year. Still going strong @160,000 mi. Honestly, looks much better in person. Super rare to see one so I get people commenting on the car often.
Wow def a rare car indeed congrats
I second that! I have a 05 Q45 111K miles. Brilliant Silver. My 3rd Q45 out of many cars I've owned. I had two 99 Q45t years ago. I fell in love with them back then.. My 05 is still a head turner, powerful pretty quick car for its size. Even in today's standards. I love mine, and you pretty much don't see any on the road.. It's definitely a keeper for me! 💯💪🏼
That's my main driver right there I got a 2002. My 2016 q70 barely touches the road
Always a treat seeing these or the second gen M.
True!
2nd gen m? You mean 1st gen. 2nds are ugly lol
@@AlexGreen-os6zb yeah 1st gen
Super shocking revelation about the projectors being the best at the time. In my HID planet days the Q45 projectors were known for looking cool but having pretty awful output.
I like your contents
Car is an absolute bargain today. Shopping for a 2006 q45S with the dark brick color interior. Throw a supercharger and swap in the 7 speed from the slightly newer m45. It’s totally possible with minimal fabrication.
Any info on this stuff online on the swap?
The M45 never came with the 7 speed. That was the M37, G37, and M56. All M45s and 02 - 06 Q45s had the 5 speed.
M45's did have the 7speed for 2009
@@reddstool1023 I'm sorry. I'm not trying to troll, but I'm sure they still had the 5A...the 2010 also. The M56 has the 7A. The M37 also has the 7A.
You're right to an extent. But the final variant for this M did offer an optional 7 speed.
The LS kicked the Q's ass, but I like them. A low-mileage one would be an inexpensive gem to own. However, this was the beginning of Nissan's long slide downhill.
Yea LS430 was def where it was at
Perhaps in reliability and longevity and maybe interior build quality. But the Q had much more power and standard features and handled better
Actually I have both an 01 LS and an 02 q45 (98k) the Infiniti is SO MUCH FASTER 340hp. The Lexus is 290hp and it feels heavier the rear seats in the Q recline electronically and they go WAYYY BACK they have built in sun shades in the back and on the back side windows the Q has ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ..in 2002!! The Lexus has none of this and I have always been obsessed with Lexus, and Pretty much hate Nissan but I can’t lie it’s better
I got rid of the LS and still have the 02 Q45 :|
@@vcall6121ls does have active lane system thing
All Q were very special and fun to drive cars. Infiniti is underrated
Agreed. I had a junker '98 i30 and it ran like a dream despite it's neglectful previous owner. Recently acquired a 2000 i30 with 365,000 Km and it's still a strong runner. Very under rated cars. Good used if you find one that's been maintained.
I had a 2001 I30T, one of the best cars I've ever owned @@nononsenseBennett
Ayo I need a shoutout I bought that custom Infiniti 45 that you was clicking through the pics 😂jk crazy to see my car listing in a video tho after I bought it
I was driving a genesis G80 and saw an HYUNDAI XG350is there a way you could review it you'll definitely give it justice
Probably not sadly
Id rock this
I had a '02 Q45 premium/sport package. Just got rid of after 18yrs of ownership. They didn't have ventilated seats until '03. Not a bad car, but did age horribly (Nissan/Renault....ugh). It did have a certain level of status and was well respected. Unfortunately, Nissan/ Infiniti is a mess nowadays. Great video!
How did it age horribly in your opinion ? I just bought an 02 q45 I think it’s one of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever seen. I’ve only seen 3 in my life which was , 1 I saw on the road, 1 I went to look at to potentially buy and the one I own. The 1st time I laid eyes on a q45 I knew I absolutely had to have one.
@@TheEducatedTrucker The electronics started to go haywire, like the traction control would not work or wouldn't shut off if the tires detected slippage. The passenger seat air bag came on regardless of resetting it. The engine and tranny were actually pretty decent, just electronic gremlins.
M56S is where it’s at… but at literally a fraction of the price and still with a 340hp v8, this is an option for the more economically conscious folk in this horrendous 2023 landscape. Although idk potential repair costs… which often times ruin these types of car’s proposition values.
Your thoughts Kevin?
So the problem is, there’s only like 3 clean Q45 vehicles in the whole country 😅
Had the first jewel headlight system?
OMG what a design, hard to look at this car Kevin.
Many people at the time said the front of the car looked like a Hyundai 😂
@@MeynMotorGroup 20 years ago, Hyundai´s and Kia´s look also very ugly.
Yup
@@MeynMotorGroup😂🤣
The Nissan F50 continued into a 2010 which was their version of the Q45
Actually found an 03 premium right up the street from me. The guy says it was his dad’s. Well maintained and garage kept. Has 181k on it. Only asking $4500. These things run forever don’t they? Probably going to buy it. Looking for some advice.
Been driving an 05 for two years, great and feels good. Good power all around, engine is quiet and still so you can’t really feel it. While getting 20-22mpg
The only grip is that some select parts are expensive and or not available anymore.
My front right shock is about to give up and it’s $700+ to replace - the single shock, and they don’t make the rears anymore. (But can find an aftermarket full kit).
I’d try to talk him down some, but I’d say do it
I have to admit, I've never heard of this car till now
Yea I didn’t know about it for a long time either
ohhh you don’t know what you missed. The first model year the horsepower from was like 280hp but people said it was higher like 300hp. This is in early 1990s! smoked the LS400.
I liked the M more. It was luxurious while also having the prowess of the G. As for competitors, every one just went gaga over the LS430 and the Q went all the way to the back of the pack. The excitement of the prior generation Q was all but killed by 2002. Not to age myself, I still remember sitting in one of the first Q's in America at the Oklahoma City auto show. There was absolutely no one looking at the car. The rep looked so bored and remember he gave me a goody bag (there were about 100 of them behind the counter). There was a decent crowd at Mercedes Benz for the S430, but the diesels were flat. Then, there was Lexus and there was a crowd...a large one. I remember they were all gaga about a luxury car like this for $35,000. You couldn't even get close to that in a comparable Benz.
Nice 😅 I’m glad they gave you a goody bag for taking the time to check out their product
@@MeynMotorGroup Infiniti has always been under rated by car reviewers. And that's a real shame, because Nissan tried to build something a purist could appreciate.
@@glennkonze4920 back when Infiniti was good. Even then the q45 is fairly unreliable according to many Q45 fans. The Ls430 blew it out of the water all around
@@michaels4640 Things took a nose drive in 1999 after Renault bought out Nissan.
@@michaels4640 The 94-96 models are pretty reliable for 25+ year old luxury cars. They have the metal backed timing chain guides and didn't have the weird second gear start of the 90-93 models, both of which caused reliability issues. I have a 95 Q45 and the only problems it has ever given me are the solder joints in the MAF failing and the valve cover gasket leaking.
This was supposed to be Infiniti’s big revival car because it was code named “NE” for No Excuses but they definitely cut corners as the trunk didn’t even use struts. I got to drive this on the Miami Speedway on a press event.
Luckily the G35 saved them.
Oh nice that’s awesome you got to go on a press event for the Q45. I’m assuming you’re a journalist? Do you still do Automotive work and go on press trips today?
@@MeynMotorGroup in a previous lifetime I was co-founder of a Nissan/Infiniti website called FreshAlloy. We were invited to quite a few press junkets and had access to the loaner fleet. The FX45 was my favorite Infiniti.
@@noelsaw That’s awesome my friend thank you for sharing. The FX is a pretty sweet I plan to make a vid on one
@@MeynMotorGroup don’t forget the FX50 with the 5 liter V8 that everyone forgot about. Can’t wait for your video!
What do you mean? The trunk absolutely has struts, the q45 has tech and features not seen on other cars for almost 10 years later
My 2005 G35 has reclining rear seats
Yup the G35 and M45 / M35 faded the Q45s then. That I35 was trash though. I loved the I30s and M35s tho, owned 2 of each so far for me and wifey over our 22 years married🗿 Why Infiniti not put that woodgrain on the wheel in the M35s though ill never know. Everythang is flawless to me on my M35s, I just wanted to rap along with my favorite H Town and Mississippi Hip Hop when they say Grippin Grain and it be Tre tha Truth ya dig? Im still swangin and shinin like candy paint tho haha. If I can find a Q45 with that tan interior and woodgrain wheel in good condition now, I might have to get that thang
The exterior of this was definitely trying to copy the LS430 lmao!
Looks more like a Hyundai 😂
Definitely unrated forgotten almost bought 03 q45 then realized parts probably hard to find etc.. Had a 93 q45 smoothest transmission ever..
Yea you’re probably right parts would be difficult to get
Interior is excellent. Exterior is ugly enough to keep you out of trouble or attention.

I just got one for 1k it needed a lifter job!! 120k miles 😂 then I’ve been going through videos like I FUC🤬in SCORED‼️‼️ slotted rotors next 18 inch offset gold wheels,
had 1, great car but you better get a low mileage 1 cause parts are non existent if something serious needs replacing.
This car was so disappointing. I loved the tech and style of the original Q. When I was finally in the market, this model was out. Sat in one at the dealer and it just felt generic. Immediately crossed it off my list. Tried the M which was not sporty enough. The G was much better. It felt like a cohesive product that was designed by a team with singular vision.
I have an 2002 with less than 100k white. I absolutely love this car. However I am looking to sell due to gas prices in California it’s in really good condition anyone interested?
