It really does take a while for it to start thickening up. And then when it does thicken up you need to take it off the heat and keep stirring for a while. Hope that helps 😃
I tried this Thursday I did put the dark chocolate n I also put some cocoa powder n made it into chocolate fudge... did have to do a lot of stirring (ensure there's no gloss) after I took it off the heat but it came out 👍💯 thanks
First time I ever saw a recipe for fudge that was so easy for me to understand... Blessings on top of blessings to you... thanks so much for this video!!!😁😁😁
112 - 118 degrees Celsius using a candy thermometer.... or you can drop a bit in cold water and it should form a soft ball. ( Called the soft ball stage) :)
Hi, I see you pouring your fudge and it seems to have the same texture as mine. The only problem is that it’s difficult to pour in molds. What can we add to liquify it little so it can pour well into the silicone molds so design comes out clear? Thanks
Hi Carnation! I have been scouring the internet for crumbly fudge receipes (Harder fudge that crumbles, rather than is super soft), but I'm having no luck at all. Do you have any insight?
Haven't worn my arm out like this since I was a teen..got the consistency right in the end(about 25 mins) just put it in the fridge I'll check it in a couple of hours
Make it a bit easier on yourself by leaving the mixture alone once it's cooked. When it's cooled down for about 10 minutes only then should you start beating it which reduces the actual beating time considerably.
@@meloucan 9 months later lol but next time you make this, make sure its thickened before you take it off the heat, cool it down in fridge until its thickened some more and then mix until its like the consistency of icing
Three times I’ve tried to make this following ur exact recipe but it doesn’t come out like this at all. It’s just a big sticky mess that sets in the fridge but melts when u take it out. I’m pretty good at baking but disappointed with the way this recipe turns out. I’d suggest leaving out the milk to help it set better.
How much water did you boil off? I recall getting the mixture down to a paste-like consistency, after which the fudge cooled into something malleable but capable of holding its shape.
Check other recipes, they usually suggest 15 minutes of boiling and 10 minutes of additional stirring. Worked for me, though it was still soft, I might add another 5 minutes next time. It's an alchemy, you need to reach "soft ball stage". Or today I accidentally made a crumbly fudge from a can of condensed milk, 150 g of sugar, and 150 g of butter. It was supposed to be somewhat soft caramel boiled for 10 minutes, but I forgot to boil it gently, and since there's less liquid, 10 minutes of rolling boil worked too, you are right.
My grandmother taught me the 3ball secret. When you think it’s ready, drop 3 drops into a glass of cool water. If it mushes together it’s not ready. If it stays 3 balls, not gooey runny blobs, it’s ready.
You just need to cook fudge until it reaches "soft ball" stage. Then when youre mixing it off the heat use an electric mixer until it looks the same consistency as it is in the video. Plus the electric mixer is much quicker 😀👍🏻
Is that the one using icing sugar? I've tried one in microwave but it doesn't come out hard enough for me, it has a soft consistency n I like a hard fudge that you can break but melts in your mouth
How can you alternatively use a cup? measurement when the cup has to be 250ml Why does virtually every recipe have a confusing reference to either ingredients, measurement or cooking temperature?
Not enough cooking. It needs to be cooked on medium/medium low until it reaches a “soft ball” consistency when a drop is put in cold water. It’s a pretty long process and needs a consistent stirring after it starts to thicken.

2 cups of Demerara sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1 and 1/4 cup condensed milk
1/4 cup chocolate (optional)

First time trying tonight! Thanks
The consistency is slightly different however you can use brown sugar

Can you please tell me if you use salted or unsalted butter ? Thank you
Hi is there a way to make this with less sugar?
Cut while the fudge is warm to prevent cracking like in the vid. You'll get clean cut squares
Can I used unrefined golden caster sugar or does it have to be demarera?
Thank you looking yummy
Thanks it came out good. Love the music.
Can you make it any sweeter?

would this work with coconut oil instead of butter?

cook it longer and keep stirring when it starts to set up.

Very easy thank you 👍🏼😁
What’s the butter for??
How long should u cook for
Hey until it’s starts thickening, it takes a while but keep on full heat and keep stirring 😃
How would you make it creamier
i took too long to pour the fudge in the pan mine is a bit crumbly..
but it tastes awesome my taste buds are dancing.. i made this for my sis in law

Do you need to freeze the fudge or just leave it?
For the fudge to set it just needs to be refrigerated. 🙂
Ok 👌 Thanks
Allow to cool? Where and for how long?

What heat do i put it on for
Medium/ high till it boils - then drop it right down to lowest/ simmer for five mins - then turn it off completely - and don't stop stirring haha

What IS that Demerara sugar and where can I even get it..?
You can use light brown sugar as substitute
Demerara just has larger sugar crystals you can get it from any supermarket

When making fudge you should really use brown sugar as this gives the caramel flavour and colour.

Add maple extract or sub some sugar for real maple syrup after cooked add walnuts yum
Could caster suger be substitute or is the suger integral?
Ideally caster sugar is what’s needed for the right taste and consistency 😃
I tend to use Icing sugar or confectioners sugar...it is smooth powder like consistency and blends quicker
