(LAS VEGAS, NV) May 2023 - Presented by Paragon Pools, Float Like A Duck water safety initiative released its latest video 6 Steps to Floating as part of the initiative’s 20th anniversary campaign during National Water Safety Month.
    Why is Floating important?
    • Floating is an important lifesaving skill.
    • Individuals of any age can learn how to float on their back, from infants-to-seniors.
    • Floating is one of the first steps in learning how to swim.
    • Floaters have the ability to breath, to maneuver to safety, and if needed to call for help.
    • And, learning to float can be a confidence building experience.
The 6 Steps to Floating video joins a growing library of on-line, family-friendly video PSAs that promote Water Safety as part of Float Like A Duck’s mission of “Educating the public on the importance of safety while celebrating the joys of water sports.”
“People across the globe utilize UA-cam as a source for simple instructions and “How To’s …” on a variety of subjects,” states Float Like A Duck Founder Joseph Vassallo. “Therefore, in an effort to reach more households with vital messages, tips, and education on water safety practices, our Float Like a Duck Team and volunteers produced the video to assist viewers on the proper technique of floating.”
The 107-sec video produced by Mary Vail, MBA Publicist, features Duckie the Mascot (played by David Vail) and representatives of the Nevada Desert Mermaids (NDM) artistic swimming team. NDM Coach Ludi Stsepaniuk and daughter/ team member Sophia demonstrate the floating technique. Sound track- UA-cam audio library: Vacay in Fiji Riddim by Konrad OldMoney.
