If you exhale all the air in you, you will sink. At least I do. I would always wear a Jet Ski PFD USCG certified life jacket. You don't do anything and it floats you.

I am 50 and learned swimming last month. Though I was quite sceptical in the beginning but since I started floating within four days, I didn't let go the momentum. And without any doubt, UA-cam videos have kept me motivated. Being from a teaching field, I adopt the self-directed learning approach which is suitable for adult learning. Follow the areas you want to improve as per your instinct and work upon them. Now I am regularly doing 30 breadths daily and building up my strength.

😮 WOW... When I was in high school the PE coach tried to teach me to swim for 2 years.... I don’t remember him telling me ANY of these things! I just thought I couldn’t swim. Looking at these clear instructions (which make sense) I am motivated to go out and give it a try! ...This looks like a blast... That I’ve needlessly been missing!!... I am convinced now, EVERYBODY should learn how to swim.

You might want to add a segment about neutral buoyant person whose upper body would float but their feet would sink down. They would try to achieve the exact same result as the positive buoyant person and would believe that they have failed when they really have succeeded.

I love this channel, because I really like and enjoy swimming (I just spend 8 hours at the pool today).
However, what really makes me love this channel is that it offers me the proper technique and it is demonstrated physically and stated verbally in a specific and perfect way with high quality audio and video, and I can access this knowledge whenever and I want.
The only downside of this compared to having an instructor with you at the pool is the lack of feed back to your swimming and your questions. But this is still better than what I'm getting from my instructor...
Because my instructor trains like 10 or more people at the time from different levels of swimming skills and he barely gives feed back because of the many people that he's "supposedly" "instructing"... Also, he doesn't care all that much about those who are seemingly trying to improve themselves out of love for swimming and dedication. He o ly focuses on newcomers and those who like to Co plain about how the technique is hard or like to just chatter to waste time and such...
I ask for feed back of how I'm doing and also for redemonstration of the proper way of doing a certain technique so that I make sure I'm doing it right and am not practicing wrongly... It really pisses me off seeing that I'm not getting proper instructing because I'm dedicating myself while others are complain, therefore they're the ones who need attention. I think it's ultimately the gym's fault, because instructing session (yes one singular session a day) is just 30 onites short only

I recently learned how to back float and then glide on the pool while on my back.... I literally learned it in one day (idk how to swim), but I wanted to learn to do something where I can float on my back and move and still breath regularly -- just in case I ever get stuck in the ocean.

Thank you so much for this video. Now I will just find a pool that's only on chest level just in case I will not be able to do it. If only I can bring you with me so that you can teach me in person and hold me while doing it.

Quick answer: go In the water where the water goes up to about half of your chest and go limp tuck your legs or grab onto a wall and get up do that until your comfortable then stretch out you legs and arms and do act like your climbing a ladder its basic and slow but hey better then drowning

I hate to love swimming! So many things I do naturally, are so much better understood, from watching these lessons! It's a great thing to learn swimming on line, weird but true!

Well i can't swim so would've done the same thing. Were you being a jerk? Or did you explain to the a-holes that you were trying to learn something that can very well save your life?
