    Two beat kick. The kick is narrow, and bounces back to streamline quickly. I remember some coach told me the similar trick: kick and then touch your two big toes together for gliding. It minimizes the resistance, and helps keep balance(from over-rotation).
    I love the rotation part. Early vertical forearm causes a lot of pressure in the shoulder. However, if you rotate enough, the forearm is like bent to the side and that is not so much strain. The cost is you have to rotate a lot, which slows down the stroke rate. But if speed is not so important, then this may be the most efficient way of swimming.

    Wow, 1:20 per hundred with an almost catch-up stroke? Not only is that amazing, but beautiful too! Good for you!! 😀
    I too have had shoulder issues and have discovered rotation as a key for my continued swim, I've been training with a masters team since 2005. But I don't think I am quite as rotated at 90° the way you look. Is that what I should aim for, 90°?
    My coach has always said long and strong, and I do reach with every stroke, but I want to shave more time off my 100's. I've been working on this for a long time and have made tiny improvements, but not the improvements I was hoping for by now. I'm going to try to rotate just a wee bit more to see if that makes a difference.
    Thank you for your footage, I always say the prettier the stroke, the more effecient the stroke becomes. You definitely have a gorgeous stroke. 😁👍 Keep up the good work. 🙂

    When your body rotates that much, if you also turn your head, you can almost face straight upwards, like the head position of backstroke. You can keep your head completely under water and only puff your mouth on the surface of the water like a fish, if you don't care some water leaks into your mouth. I like that feeling, although I know it is not necessary. Just for fun.

    My biggest takeaway is that this is catch-up pull. There is no way to roll to side without catch-up.

  • @victorjld
    @victorjld 3 роки тому +1

    Not quite sure if this is fit for all stroke because more you rotation than slower is your stroke turn and if you're like me a small guy (5'6") I would need to compensate my lack of speed increasing my stroke. Perhaps it's a type of stroke more appropriate to taller swimmers (>6'). However I'd be glad to be wrong and see some video of someone small like me using this technique and swimming 1:20/100m in a cruising pace

    Hi master at ocean Walker . I am beginner , I love your technique and I can't thank you enough for sharing your knowledge in u-tube . I have a question . When you tell that up to 90° rotation is good, then what happens to the glider arm? Dosent the glider arm tend to sink instead of glide?

      Thank you. 90 degrees not 45 degrees. Hold front arm. Head should be still. 90 degrees gives you the most momentum possible and therefore glide. You can learn it in detail here: vimeo.com/ondemand/oceanwalkertechnique
