Great Review and THANK YOU!!! @15:00 I have been looking everywhere for the actual dimensions of this rack. It is listed as 50.8" width O.D on the site but the Multi grip bar is listed as being 41", something didn't add up.
Thank you, thank you, thank you lol. I’ve really been holding out for a 5000 but they never have everything in stock for it. Just started thinking on the 4000. This is an excellent review thanks for putting this much effort into itz
I have been following you on the 731 side of the house for a little over a year now. I had no idea that you were doing this. I started looking for a home gym set up and there’s Matt lol. Good review though man. You sold me on the PR-4000 over the 5000
Enjoyed the detailed review. I was noticing what I am guessing is the Rogue Ohio bar that matches the blue crossbars pretty well. Is that the light blue or blue cerakote color?
Man one of the best reviews I have seen on this rack on UA-cam! Answered almost every question I had on this equipment. Quick question though have you gotten the Ares upgrade to it yet? And if so how is that working out for you? Thanks again for your review
You just sold me on the REP PR-4000, and I was ready to buy a Rogue RML-390C in burnt Orange 🍊. I will wait until REP’s raw clear coat is again available, a few months they said. GREAT REVIEW. 5 Stars 🌟!! Thanks 🙏🏻.
Thanks for posting! I have this rack and love it! I ordered it with sandwich j cups and flip down safeties, I wish I had gotten the strap safeties. Plenty of accessories to add on!
Just orders mine yesterday. 80” mate black uprights with red crossmembers. Got a 41” depth and it’s 6 posts. Do you think the rack will be stable enough not to bolt down
Lift The Barbell I got the RBS on mine and it’s a nice addition and it makes a difference in stability. I feel like it’s rock solid now, wether doing pull ups or jumping on the dip bars. The added benefit is that your uprights will stay parallel to one another. I definitely recommend it.
Lift The Barbell yeah, I should have pulled the trigger on them the other day, but I’m slightly disappointed in the belt squat, as it could definitely be more convenient to put in place, use it and not require a “workaround” to use it effectively. The ISO arms are a different beast and look like they are well thought out. Hopefully we can get in on the next batch.
You reviewed this so well. I'm curious if Rogue's matador would wiggle as much? Did you think about getting the lat pull down attachment? Thinking about ordering one with that to give it even more versatility.
Thanks! Not sure about the Rogue one. Oh yeah I want the lat pull down for sure. I am going to get the ISO arms first then hopefully get the lat/low pull later on down the road.
I'll let you know once I get all of my gear in, as I ordered the same PR4000 rack that Matt reviews here and ordered the Monster Lite Matador. The lat pull down seems to come and go quickly and they have the 93" version in stock now, but I'm still waiting for the 80" version to show up in stock. It's like a full time job trying to get equipment during this time! Marty A - the Rep rack reviewed here, as well as the PR5000 are both 3x3 11 guage steel, same as Monster and Monster Lite racks (respectively).
Matt Burnett - yes, I have most of my gym set up already and will put up a review video soon. As for the Matador, I’d say it fits just as well as the Rep dip bar does on your rack. One thing I did that I was going to show in my video, was applied some felt adhesive that one would use under furniture legs. It makes the matador fit a bit more snug and helps eliminate some of the play/rattle. It worked like a charm, but it was a challenge finding some thin enough at Lowe’s. Matt, you might appreciate the barbell rack I built (I too do some woodworking).
If you plan on doing dips or you are lifting heavy, I would recommend bolting down. Even if you have to find some type of ground anchor and anchor to the ground.
Which ones are easier and more convinient to use the Flip down safeties or the strap safeties for rep fitness rack? What are the advantages or disadvantages of using one vs the other one?? Also should I get pr4000 or PR 5000 vr2 rack? I can also get the same attachments the PR 5000v2 for the PR 4000 right?
Great job on the review! This is exactly what consumers need to see and hear when making a purchase like this. I've had mine for a couple of months now and it has been an amazing piece of equipment
Which size strap safeties did you order? I heard the REP ones have way too much slack. REP says their 30" strap is actually 34" in length, whereas Rogue says their 30" is 30", and Titan says their 30" is 33". Yours doesnt look too bad at all...
This is great, thanks for posting. I've got a pre-order pr-4000 that hasn't shipped yet, hoping it will any day now. Looks solid, wanted a sturdy rack which is why I chose the 3x3. Saw you got the iron plates, how do you like those?
Took about an hour to put the rack together. Rep Iron plates are just okay. They are inconsistent in weight. Some are 46 pounds. Some 43. Actually the 2.5, 5 and 25s are good. The 45’s not so much. Some are the 45’s are rough feeling and some have sharp pieces on them that’ll cut you. I’ve got a review of them coming soon
Fabulous and detailed review. I have a couple of questions. Does this rack need to be bolted down? (I don’t want to bolt mine down once I decide on which one to buy.) Also, do you know if REP has an adjustable pull up bar (that can be moved up or down the uprights?) Price wise this rack is awesome and within my budget.
Great video! I'm looking at the PR-4000 too. Do you find it to be stable without the optional front feet or optional weight storage (third row) in the back? I'm asking because I don't want to bolt mine to my concrete slab. Thanks again. Sub and Like added!
Finally got to order a PR 4000 today after a month of trying to get one! Im pumped to be able to lift at home and not have that 20 minute commute to the gym. Good review, subscribed.

did you bolt through the stall mat? I see the upright feet extends beyond the center wooden portion of the platform.
Yes, I did. Through the mat into the wood underneath.

Is your Rogue Ohio Power Bar stainless steel or bare steel?
It's bare steel. Finding the stainless one in stock right now would be like finding a mermaid riding a unicorn lol.
I can’t decide on 4 post or 6. So you’re wish you had 6 for storage, stability, accessories or not at all?
You can start with 4 posts and see if it's stable enough and provides enough storage.
Is there a big difference between Rogue and Rep? Which one is more stable?
I'm not sure, my Rep rack is very stable but I have it bolted down
