I'm a minute in so this may be a bit premature, but in this video you're in a basement and you're replacing something from Titan. I think you just became my favorite channel.
I just got a Rep PR-4000 a few weeks ago and am very happy with it. it's built like a tank and has a good range of accessories available. I wish I had enough space for the third pair of uprights though
One thing for sure that Rep Fitness has over Rogue is their shipment quality control. My RML490C came in busted through the cardboard and wasn’t covered with any bubble wrap plastic. To be fair it’s a great rack and I understand my complaint is cosmetic damage. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with Rep Fitness. Especially for how professional they’ve condoned themselves with their high quality items, consistent resupplies, shipping experience, and customer service. Especially with Covid affecting the world. They’re completely worth the consideration from anyone looking to build or add new equipment to their gym space.
They've definitely been growing on me. I do own a lot of their stuff and I like them more and more as time goes on. You have every right to be upset about damage in shipping, we pay a lot and who doesn't want their new stuff to arrive in good shape?
@@GlucksGym I really appreciate your comment. I did reach out to Rogue and I believe they did their best to make it right. Regardless of my personal experience I do think Rogue makes great equipment. However the top three companies I’ve bought from this year who’ve exceeded my expectations have been Sorinex, Kabuki Strength, and Rep Fitness. Seriously I look forward to what Rep has in store for the future. They’re something special. Take care Gluck, stay healthy, and keep up the great content.
They've been running the same sales the last few times. There's a chance it's a broader sale but idk if it'll be a deeper discount. They're just pushing such volume right now there's no real need on their end
Safeties in the rack since they cover the full 41" and the spotter outside. I only have spotters and use them inside and out but I've had friends in squat for example miss the arms on their fail. Luckily we are always there spotting.
Hi Sir!, Thanks for your content, as a newbie in the home gym, I just love it: funn and to the point. Jusdt one questin for you: I have shoulder injuries (daH) and I am looking for a crossover cable machine. Can you recommend one please? Thank you and keep up the great work!
This is an old one so I don't exactly engender remember what I said but the PR 4000, 5000, Rogue Monster Monster Lite and now I'd add the Hydra. There's other great racks though!
Great video! This is the exact setup I will be purchasing in a couple of weeks. My only hesitation is if I should buy the strap safety or the flip down safety. I’ve never used safety straps and don’t know if I would like them or if they are a better option.
I suppose that's a personal preference. I can't use either with my rack since nobody makes them :( if I could only choose one I'd get the flip downs because of pin press and some other things you can do with them but everyone has their opinions.
That's my buddies rep rack. My rack currently is a Rogue R6 and Titan's aren't long enough. It's ok though the new rack is on the floor in the gym and going together soon.
So I am curious about these racks since my ceiling clearance is borderline. Theyre advertised as 93" but Ive heard the boxes they come in actually say 90" and they empirically measure 92"... Can anymore confirm???
Haven't gotten my hands on them yet. Hopefully better than their standard iron plates which I wasn't a huge fan of. I'll definitely try to track some down.
Now that you've had a chance to try the Westside spacing, do you think it should be the deciding factor between the 4000 and 5000. I'm torn between both. Maybe I'll get both 😀
With them updating the side spacing to be the same as the front/back I'd go with the 4000 I think. The only issue is some companies still ignore 5/8" racks so you may be limited in what you can add on. I technically started Westside, I don't have it now. I always liked Westside but you can adapt.
@@jerseyjim9092 yes there has. The 4000 now has the same hole pattern as the 5000 but there's still old stock that has the old style (like in this video) but once that's gone it'll all be the same
Great video, I am waiting on my own rack to arrive, so this was both useful and entertaining. But why drop safeties and not safety straps? I don’t know if one is better than the other, I was just curious. Thanks
That was his choice there. I mentioned both and he wanted the drops. There's a bit of a preference there but some people are also leary of straps. In this case I think it was more for the versatility with pin press, band work, etc that come with the drops.
I got the straps for my PR-5000, and I do kind of wish I'd gotten the drops. For the reasons you mentioned, basically. The added versatility would've been nice. That said, the straps are very heavy and strong, and they do work beautifully without making any noise Good purchase and worth every penny, but if I could go back and do it over, I'd get the drops
I used a T2 rack before, thing was junky. I just replaced my x3 Titan squat stand which was great for the price. But I paid an arm and leg for my PR5000 that I barely got. Doesn't compare.
When you were showing your "cart" I noticed there was no Logo Plate Crossmember. I heard this is included with the uprights; can you please confirm this?
I don't but we're planning one. I prefer the storage off the back but that's just me and I don't really have space issues in front of my rack. Otherwise building off to the side can be cool or mounting plates to the wall, plate trees, etc. I actually use all 3 of those methods atm.
@@GlucksGym as far as space goes, the basement room I'm working with is 159"x173" and 110" tall. 1 of the long walls is all cement and one of the short walls is half cement. I think that's a decent size.
Forgive me if you mentioned this in the video (think I’ve watched it twice now and a little more), but how high is the ceiling in there? And how tall are those uprights? This is basically my dream configuration too - got a detached garage that has 8'1" ceilings and I’d probably love to do pull-ups from time to time, saw Matt doing some so I got real curious.
Those are the 80" uprights. I think I mentioned it but there a lot of info packed in that 8 minutes so it's understandable. I'm not sure how tall the ceiling is
Not sure if it was mentioned in a separate video, but how tall are you? I'm 6'1 and my next piece of equipment is a rack. Like you said here, most racks are around 80-84 inches tall and then 90+ inches. Would 80 inches be comfortably tall enough?
Super Jealous! Sick rack. Maybe I can do a crazy purchase without getting approval from the wifey too. Hahaha. Little Matty is hilarious coming from a dad who has a kid around his age. LOL!
Hey, found your channel a few weeks ago been watching all the videos! I’m trying to build a home gym because I hate the la fitness near me. I’m trying to pick between rep and rogue. Right now it’s looking like rogue is going to cost about 800/900 dollars more. Also not sure if I should do a 6 post or 4 post setup Thank you!
Very in-depth review. Couple of question… What’s the total depth of the rack w/o those front stabilizers? Also looks like you’ve got the 41” cross members, is that correct? Again, awesome review!
Yes it is the 41" version and it's 68" without the front extension (and not counting the rear stabilizer) but that numbers from Matt so hopefully he can measure.

It's really a lot of preferences. I like the larger ones but my last rack was 33, this ones 41 and we have a Rogue rack that's 30... I enjoy them all and don't really feel cramped in the Rogue but it's a little tighter. I doubt you'd notice much unless you've really created a preference
