Great review. I almost went for the x-3 on account of the flat foot option but I ended up with the Titan T-3 and love it too. One of the biggest decision points for me was the depth choice between either 24" vs 36". If you can swing the size and the slight upcharge... I would highly recommend the 36" depth. The extra weight (14lbs) plus the extra depth adds stability. But the biggest thing for me is the amount of space in the rack to exercise is such a plus. It feels just right. I haven't worked out in 24" rack but feel that it would be too tight for me. This is especially true if you plan to store plates on the rack, which I do.
Thanks! I'm with you on the depth. For sure can't store weights on the side without extra depth. For me, 30" is plenty of room to work. I'm really thankful it turned out that way as I don't really have room for a 36" depth rack in my space. And yeah, I have no idea how people can use a 24" rack!

@@natedaniel4489 Thanks! Enjoy the rack! And yeah, I'm constantly amazed at what Rogue charges for stuff. They seem to be coming down in price a bit as Rep takes a chunk of their business away, but overall they are very pricey.

I'm at home gym con right now, but can try to measure for you when I get home. But I do think Titan lists their safety straps by which depth rack they fit, so that may help room
Nice. Can’t go wrong with Rogue. No worries and you don’t need to measure them. I just noticed reviews of the 30” Titan ones having too much slack according to a couple individuals. (Reason for asking)
Loved your review, I bought an X3 for my son based on this so thanks! For your wall organization which looks great what J hooks did you get to hang your equipment on your wall?
Awesome! I hope he loves his new rack! The hooks are called "tornado hooks" and I got them pretty cheaply at home depot. Make sure you sink them into studs. I missed on one side when I first started using them and they fall right out of the drywall (even though the instructions say they won't). Into a stud (no extra hardware is needed, you get the right screws for this in the box) and there's zero issues.
Im no Pro Strongman and wont be lifting anywhere near max load so I appreciate Titan Fitness! I got the low short T3 version 3 years ago and love it, I actually wonder if I should sell it for an X3 to modernize it.
I saw that the other day. Looks pretty cool although they were out of stock. If I was buying a rack again, that one would certainly be one of my top options!
I’m on the fence about this exact rack. However, the pulldown accessory is only for the raised rack not the flat foot. Do you know of any accessory that would fit maybe from another vendor? Have you heard that Titan has one in develop for this rack? Please let me know, this might be a deal breaker for me. Thanks 🙏
My very honest answer is that if I wanted a cable or pulldown attachment, I wouldn't buy the Titan rack. As much as I like the rack, the attachment is mediocre at best. If you want a rack with a pulldown, the Rep racks are ideal. They have several pulldown options and several rack options, including flat foot.
They're OOS on their safety pins and straps. Does anyone know if other brands will fit? Tiran x3 says 11/16 inch hole spacing so I'm not sure if other brands will fit.
Rogue straps fit, that's what I use. When I first bought the rack, they had recalled all of their straps, so I went with Rogue. But... I'd wait until Titan has them back in stock as Rogue will cost you 3x what the Titan straps run and they are 0% better.
Generally speaking, Rogue attachments fit the Titan rack (there will be a small amount of play, but not an issue), but Titan attachments don't fit Rogue. My friend Mike, who runs Strong Home Gym, has the best rack compatibility chart on the web. You are sure to find any compatibility answers you need there: stronghomegym.com/power-rack-attachments-compatibility/
You indicated that you don't store weight plates on the rack. Does the rack wobble at all when you do a pull-up (regular or kipping)? Also curious if the rack moves or walks across the ground at all from the horizontal force of re-racking a heavily weighted bar after doing a bench press or a squat?
I don't do kipping pull ups (I like to limit my trips to the doctor), but strict pull ups are fine. The rack definitely moves over time, but nothing I notice while training. I'd say every month or two, I wiggle it back into place. It never moves more than a couple of inches in that time.
I ordered the X3 flat foot 91 tall and its coming tomorrow. Sad thing is I found you can't do band work because there aren't any holes in the bottom brackets for the band pegs. Do you currently have a workaround?
Heck yeah! I use bands almost every workout and I actually like not having band pegs. I use my Powerblocks dumbbells to anchor the bands. That gives me 100% flexibility in where they are anchored, I'm not stuck with just the preset holes for band pegs. I've also used kettlebells when I'm supersetting and using my dumbbells. Hope that helps and enjoy the rack!
I just bought a Rep 3000 based on your other video, and now leaning towards Titan for a rack because of this video 😆 I do have a question I was hoping to get your opinion on: for reference, I'm female and although I'm trying to improve, I can barely squat 135 lbs right now. Do you think the Titan T-2 power rack (2x2 with 12-gauge steel) will be sturdy enough for that weight? I'm in an apartment so the short 71-inch version would be the perfect height. Thank you!!
Yep, I think 3x3 is pretty beefy for an apt and considering the weight you are moving. I'd still make sure to weigh it down well, though. Thanks for checking ou the channel!
@@carrickdubya4765 I appreciate the feedback, but have to disagree just a little. It's not all about capacity. It's also about stability when racking/unracking the weight as well as stability when pushing or pulling on the rack (band work, pull ups, even stretching). A 3x3 rack is significantly heavier and therefore more stable. With a 2x2, you really need to pay attention to how you anchor it down. It needs to be bolted or weighted down well. A 3x3 doesn't have this issue. It's not that a 2x2 won't work, it's just that you add the extra concern of how to keep it stationary and stable when lifting.
@@carrickdubya4765 None taken! A lot of people read the comments for more info and I just wanted to add that part. I appreciate you helping others like that. So many people don't take that time. Thanks!
What is the difference in the height options. I see a 82 in option and a 91in option. Is this just a decision based on the individuals height? Or something else I am not thinking of? I am just now making first purchases for my garage gym, and this and your video on gym flooring have been super helpful! So huge thanks on those videos!
Hi Lisa! It's really just a difference to allow for different ceiling heights. If you have 12-18" above the 91" option, go that route. That gives you enough room for your head to go over the pull up bar. If your ceiling is shorter and doesn't allow for that, then go with the short option. Hope that helps and thanks for checking out the channel!
Do you feel like not being able to attach the lat pulldown attachment to the flat foot x3 rack was a good trade off. Also, is the x3 titan power rack compatible with lever arns?
Titan does make lever arms, it's listed on their site in the X3 rack accessories page. As for the lat pulldown, I'd love to have a cable system of some kind in my garage, but that's really easy to program around. That said, I love the Rep racks if you are looking for a great cable system. Their new Ares system is the best you can get, really amazing setup. Sooooo, if your training requires a cable setup, for sure consider that. But if it doesn't, no big deal. Everyone's needs are different! Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!
i only wish the flat foot rack had color choices. I think the X3 non flat foot rack with feet extensions shouldn’t move. Trying to decide between the two. The flat foot with all the attachments is such a great price point.
I think part of the Titan price point is that they don't offer a ton of options for color or finish. It's a fantastic budget piece. I'm with you, though, in that I'd love a color instead of black. I'll be rebuilding the gym from scratch soon and I will most likely go with a Rep rack this time. I love their clear grind color and their new Ares cable attachment is better than anything else on the market. That said, I still looooooove my Titan rack and use it daily!
@@GymCrafter I just watched a interview with coop from garage gym reviews and Titans CEO. Looks like they are adding tons of attachments and all racks will have color choices. Looking forward to that so i’ll wait a little bit.
@@875daily I saw that. I love how many of the home gym companies are stepping up and realizing that most of us will pay a little extra for options or nicer touches. It's a great time to be in this field!
Hi! I'm wanting a Titan X-3 rack but I'm nervous about the stability especially after watching Basement Brandon's unbolted test-shaking in his 2017 X-3 review. They say Titan has really improved its quality over the years. Do you know whether they've improved the X-3's stability as well or was that shaking possibly more a consequence of uneven flooring. Also, could you advise on anything general using the X-3 as a half-rack? (max weight on barbell ~250lbs) Would the stabilizer feet be a necessary add-on?
If you take any 24" or 30" rack, with no weights or gear on it, and shake it, it will move a little. Once you get some weights and gear on them, they typically don't. I have zero issues with mine and have never once worried about stability. But I do want to point out that I have the flat foot version that's designed not to be bolted down. If you get any rack that isn't designed this way, you're going to want to bolt it down either to the ground or a lifting platform. I also want to mention that I've been testing foldable racks (PRX and similar) and those are by FAR the most stable racks available. Since one side is securely anchored to your wall, they do not move AT ALL!
@@GymCrafter Thanks! One more question on stability - Do I need to finish with the barbell on the front pillars for squats if I have weight plates on the back pillars for better balance?
@@martinlehman9049 I wouldn't worry about that. Do what's comfortable for you. Nothing worse than trying to squat heavy and feeling awkward inside the rack.
@@GymCrafter Ah. Good to know my stability concerns are overblown. Any additional remarks if I decide to utilize the 24" X-3 rack as a half-rack with spotter arms on the outside? Would you recommend the stabilizer feet in this case?
@@martinlehman9049 I would invest in the feet if you'll be working outside the front of the rack on safeties. Why not go 30" and just work inside the rack?
there are no peg attachments for the X3, but I use dumbbells instead. They keep the band anchored well and they are something I already own, so no additional expense.
@@guntassingh9432 I have PowerBlocks, which are square, so they don't roll. With round, you can take a heavy one and it usually won't roll. If it does, a small plate will keep it in place.
I'm not sure. I use Rogue safety straps with this rack and they fit fine, although there is some wiggle in there. Not sure if you'd want that in those arms.
I have the 30" version. I tried a few different racks that were 24" and I really didn't like how that felt. I was always worried about hitting an upright. The extra 6" makes a huge difference!😂🙈
Since I buy all the gear I review myself, then use it for 6-12 months before reviewing, I'm a little limited at this point in what I can review. Add to that, I'm not the biggest Rogue fan in the world and I don't think I'll be getting to this one any time soon. That said, look for an Ohio Power Bar review coming at some point, but that will about all the Rogue in the short term.
I have X3 items but will likely purchase a power rack from Rep. fitness because the width is only 47 inches versus 48 inches with Titan and 49 inches with rogue. The closer together the uprights are the less likely plates will be clanging against the rack. That’s why Rep. fitness takes first place for me. I just need them to hurry up and start producing the clear grind uprights! But for functionality and value with one or two items you’re absolutely right. Rep might win over Titan when you start adding a bunch of accessories because at some point the shipping price won’t change which is awesome. Reps tall option is 3” taller and the lat pulldown option looks pretty bad ass in the back, especially being centered (shots fired at you rogue fitness lol)
Man, that clear grind is sexy. It's really the only color I like more than black. You gonna go for the 4000 or the 5000? I've been considering buying a 4000 so I can give a direct comparison to the Titan. Plus I think the cable attachment is a lot better on the Rep (at least that's what I've read in a bunch of places). And I agree on the rack width. When I first got the X3, I bumped it with the plates on my squat walk out a lot. Used to it now, so it doesn't really happen, but if you are loaded heavy, it's for sure not something good! Hope you enjoy that new rack!
Glad to hear a real review from a realistic person with realistic expectations of a piece of steal with other pieces of steal slamming into it. Buying this saved me from having to go to the scrap yard, buy metal, cut it, weld it, and punch 10,000 holes in it. (I got the folding one) And if you understand that no wall is plumb and true and your floor isn't flat and know how to compensate... I could go on for days about the shit pansies complain about. Anyway. Nice job.
The way I would pick is based on two things... The finish on the Rep racks will be nicer. For me that didn't make a difference, but it might for you. The attachments are better with Rep, especially if you are thinking of doing a row/pulley attachment. Otherwise, you'll really like either one. I have a more detailed comparison on the recommended racks page on my site: gymcrafter.com/recommended-gear/recommended-racks/

Thanks, Tim! I used two very large crescent wrench. I didn't have a socket big enough, but wow that would have made things easier! I did do it by myself, though. It's not too hard at all.
Great review. I have decided to go with this rack as well. It is plenty for what i need. Also they have coupons for 10-15% off pretty regular which makes this rack a no brainer for me. I always wanted a rouge and I can get it but looking on thier accessories they want $35 for a basic wrench lol. One wrench 😂. May sound dumb to some but I made my decision then.
@@natedaniel4489 Thanks! Enjoy the rack! And yeah, I'm constantly amazed at what Rogue charges for stuff. They seem to be coming down in price a bit as Rep takes a chunk of their business away, but overall they are very pricey.
Reminds me of an old Soviet tank from WWII. Ugly but it just plain works. Lol. Thanks for the review.
Ha! That's a perfect analogy! Love it.
I ultimately went for the X3 over the T3 simply because of the flat foot design. I want to be stable when I do pull-ups
Great choice. There's a huge difference in stability there.
Purchased a X3 and it is solid. I wish it came with the multi grip pull-up bar though.
Agree! It was the second thing I upgraded after buying safety straps. The original bars are sitting in a corner in my gym.
That is exactly what I want next. What length did you go with for the straps?
@@StevenZoeZoe I ended up having to buy them from Rogue as they weren't in stock at Titan when I bought my rack and I can't find the invoice.
Appreciate your review man!!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for the feedback.
Excellent review. X3 is indeed one of the best racks for the money. It is comparable to Rep and Rogue for 95% of users.
I agree 100%
Im no Pro Strongman and wont be lifting anywhere near max load so I appreciate Titan Fitness! I got the low short T3 version 3 years ago and love it, I actually wonder if I should sell it for an X3 to modernize it.
Nice! How has that T3 held up? Any complaints?
@@GymCrafter Other than finish, no! I have cool add ons for accessible prices, I can't complain at all.
I just need a 96-100" flat footed rack and I'll be happy. 90 inches is too short for me since I am 6'3 and enjoy doing pull ups
I'm 6'6" and do pull-ups on my rack several days a week with no issues.
@@GymCrafter I hate bended knee pullups, but you're right, it's doable
Great review! Rep does have a flat foot called the Omni
I saw that the other day. Looks pretty cool although they were out of stock. If I was buying a rack again, that one would certainly be one of my top options!
@@GymCrafter yeah. I think I’m going to go with the Omni because unlike the X3 you can attach a lat pull down.
I just bought this because of your review! Where did you get those wall hooks for your bars?
They are called Tornado hooks and I got them at Home Depot.
@@GymCrafter thank you so much!
Great video! Is the X-3 a TRUE 3x3? I heard the measurement are a tad smaller?
I just measured my uprights and they ar 2 15/16 x 2 15/16. I call that a 3x3 rack all day long.
I've been thinking of upgrading my rack to this one but might be doing it at the end of the year. Why no new content?
Been working on the website. You Tube is something I'll eventually get back to, but the website is my primary focus right now.
@@GymCrafter thank you sir!
Does the titan matador dip 1/2 inch fits on Rogue monster lite rack
Great review, I think this is the rack I'll be buying
Nice! Enjoy the rack!
Is there any way to use band pegs with a flat foot power rack like the x3?
there are no peg attachments for the X3, but I use dumbbells instead. They keep the band anchored well and they are something I already own, so no additional expense.
@@GymCrafter Do you just lay down the dumbbells and attach the band to the handle? Do the dumbbells not roll around?
@@guntassingh9432 I have PowerBlocks, which are square, so they don't roll. With round, you can take a heavy one and it usually won't roll. If it does, a small plate will keep it in place.
I wonder if the rogue trolley leverage arms are compatible with this rack?
I'm not sure. I use Rogue safety straps with this rack and they fit fine, although there is some wiggle in there. Not sure if you'd want that in those arms.
@@GymCrafter yea I gotta make sure they fit nicely
Hey there, so is this the 24 inch version? (meaning 24 inches inside the rack)
I have the 30" version. I tried a few different racks that were 24" and I really didn't like how that felt. I was always worried about hitting an upright. The extra 6" makes a huge difference!😂🙈
I have 2 pull up bars. Would you recommend moving one towards the center to add a stabilizer bar?
You can for sure do that, but make sure it leaves you enough room to actually do pull ups to!
@@GymCrafter I’m a small guy lol thanks!
What hooks are being used to hang your barbell in the background?
This article covers what I use for storage and includes direct links to those hooks: gymcrafter.com/proper-barbell-storage/
Have the same rack and it is awesome
Great to hear! Thanks for checking out the video.
@7:50 "2nd thing he loves about the Rouge rack"
😂Oops!
Hey how about reviewing the rackable five foot barbell, ROGUE C70S? Brand new!
@@GymCrafter definitely the 4000 sir. Clearly great minds think alike :D
Anyway. Nice job.
Thanks! I can't even imagine trying to make one of these on my own!
Man I am so close to pulling tigger but also looking at rep
The way I would pick is based on two things... The finish on the Rep racks will be nicer. For me that didn't make a difference, but it might for you. The attachments are better with Rep, especially if you are thinking of doing a row/pulley attachment. Otherwise, you'll really like either one. I have a more detailed comparison on the recommended racks page on my site: gymcrafter.com/recommended-gear/recommended-racks/
@@GymCrafter awesome thank you! I CrossFit 3-4 times a week so looking for something that will function for missed day because of kids or some accessory work. Not sure I need a 3x3 for that?? I was looking at rep 4000 which gets into $1000 range which is too much or the rep 1100 with extension as well as Titan x3. Can’t decide 🤦🏼♂️
@@pharm30 I prefer the 3x3 because it's much more stable due to its weight. It doesn't rock when reracking weight and stays in place a lot better than a 2x2. If you go with a 2x2, make sure to bolt it down or heavily weight it down so it doesn't move around on you.
@@GymCrafter do you have an opinion on a Get Rxd Goliath cage? Like $100 cheaper than x3 right now seem pretty similar
I don't know much about them. I've never been much of a CrossFit guy so haven't ever had a real reason to look at their stuff too deeply. I know their benches are getting some good reviews, so maybe their racks are solid too. Sorry I'm not much help on that one.
