@@twistedbarbell3950 you made a lot of great points I was not considering during my research to get my rack. Finally in a home after decades of renting and can’t wait to get it going. Appreciate the in-depth review!
You couldn’t explain it any better. What a great indepth review. You thought of everything when explaining the in’s and out’s of your build, with great detail and justification. I am really wanting to purchase the REP PR-5000 as a first piece to a new gym build. However, I am going to have to give up a fair amount of my woodworking space in my garage. I am getting tired of paying $70 a month for a gym membership. I do have a few home fitness items, so I do workout at home at least once per week. I may as well make the leap if I can part with my woodworking area. Thanks for all the insight. Great video.
Thank you! The PR5K is a great rack and the new 4K’s have the same hole spacing it keep the 5/8” hardware and hole size. It costs less than 5K, so worth considering. As for the woodworking area, I feel you! I do the same but haven’t used my Garage space for it like I’ve wanted to. If I already had a dedicated space, it would be difficult to give up, especially if I used it often. Good luck!

Great review! I have the PR-4000 with 41" inch cross members and I do my incline barbell and over head presses inside the rack by turning my bench around to face the back of the rack. Then I work from the inside of the front posts. While you can do this with normal j-cups, the monolifts make life alot easier- I highly recommend them.
@jasondobson7719 hey, how much space do you have within the cage when doing your incline and over head presses? I'm thinking of getting the 30" cross members if I could still do incline as you've described. Do you think it can be done with 30" depth?

@@twistedbarbell3950 I'll try that link. I though I would have to do the regular pull up bar so i could lower it. I was trying to measure how far I go above the bar to see it I would hit my head (not easy). If the crossmember is at 76 or 77 inches instead of 80 that might make all the difference for me.
@@CloudStrife78 you would definitely have more flexibility with the reg bar since you can move it to any position on the uprights. However, if you have 85” or so, the multi-grip globe bar sitting at the cross members height gives me enough headroom above and I’m 6’2”, so that may work for you too.
Man what a great review. Detailed and to the point with out all the rambling like these other UA-cam channel. Thank you for helping me make my decision.
Thank you for the detailed review. I am also considering purchasing the 80" PR-4000 rack, but I do not have the floor space for the lat/row attachment. I was hoping to use resistance bands (of which I have many), throw one or more of them over the multi-grip pull-up bar and either put the lat row bar through the bands or use other kind of handles to perform seated lat row(s). I noticed you have resistance bands in your gym area. I was hoping you could try this setup and comment on how effective such "banded" lateral rows would be. I would still be using a leg roller just as you have in your video.
It could absolutely be done and I’ve done this with dual bands and clench fitness handles for dual pulley exercises. Just depends on how long you’ll be satisfied with the setup and the amount of resistance you get.
Ok I’m sold. I’m in the process of putting together a home gym and I’ve been looking for a power rack. I’m gonna get the PR-4000. Thanks for the review.

Thank you Norman! I cringe at my earlier stuff, so I like to bullet my ideas to stay on topic, while also providing the info I think viewers will expect. Welcome to the fam!
Thank you for the review! Your view points helped me make the decision to pull the trigger. I was between the 4k and 5k but chose the 4k mainly for the accessories and cost savings, I personally like the leg roller on the 4k way better than the 5k and pulldowns are one of my favorite exercises so it will get used a lot. The overall cost savings will give me brownie points with the wife…either way spending a ton of money but at least i can say i saved a little bit haha

You’re quite welcome and thanks for watching.
This is one of the best rack reviews I have seen, thank you so much for this!
My pleasure and thanks!
Still relevant today, amazing video.
Appreciate that, glad you found it helpful.
Brother thank you 🙏🏽 This is the best review I have seen. I can’t wait to get back tor he states and order my setup 💪🏽
My pleasure and good luck with your setup!
Exceptionally thorough review. Off to the Rep PR 4000 configuration tool I go. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
Great review man, completely answered all my questions plus gave me somethings to think about as well. Really appreciated!
Thanks Chris and my pleasure
Foot Print layout extremely helpful. Thank you.
I'm happy to help.
Ok I’m sold. I’m in the process of putting together a home gym and I’ve been looking for a power rack. I’m gonna get the PR-4000. Thanks for the review.
Hey Noel, I’m glad I could help. If you wouldn’t mind supporting the channel by using the affiliate code in the description, I’d greatly appreciate it!
@@twistedbarbell3950 Absolutely. Thanks again.
@@All_you_need_is_love2018 my pleasure!
thanks for this review, not many vids of the 80" option for us low ceiling folk
Yeah, def a minority for rack heights
Hell yeah . Thanks for the review bro.
Incredibly helpful information. Strong work.
Thanks Amit
Solid review and informative. Glad you went through your process as to why you did what you did and how you made it work.
Appreciate that!
Great review, Marcus. Good to see you still train on yer glorious REP PR-4K gear. I just tried to buy via your affiliate link here now that raw clear coat is restocked. I’ve waited 16 mos on this color for four 30” crossmembers and four 80” uprights! Uprights are not yet available. I’ll update you here. 👍🏻
Thanks Flex. That is an awesome color and hope you get what you want and soon!
Excellent job. You answered all the questions I needed that I couldn't find anywhere else. Hope you don't mind if I copy your setup. It will work for me perfectly...I will go with the PR-5000, though. I'll make sure to purchase through your affiliate link. Thanks again!
My pleasure and I’m happy my setup will work for you
In this sounds weird but your voice is so soothing 🤣 nice review
That is weird! 😂 thanks for watching!
Great video. 👍 Very thorough. I have a REP AB3000 bench and it goes back a little further so incline within PR4000 rack is not a problem. I guess it really comes down to the type of bench you have.
Thanks for confirming that, as many have wondered.
Sub added, really one of the best coverages.
Thank you!
A very detailed and informative review. Bravo sir, and thank you.
Thanks and my pleasure
Wow very informative video! just in time. just set up my pr 4000!
Thanks Kyle and good luck with yours.
My guy. This was a solid review. Cheers. 👊🏼
Thanks man
That shirt!! Nice review and the red powder coat looks great. You have got that rack set up well and organized. I was wondering about the round J-cups and have yet to try them. Great job using your space well and getting those gains!
Thanks Rylan, appreciate the support as always! I do love the red PC! The round J cups are very nice and in fact nicer than mine since they now come with the stainless logo plates.
Amazing review man, just awesome and so well thought out with your setup!
Thank you Joshua!
Wow this is an excellent video! it answered a lot of questions I had.
Glad it was helpful!
awesome video very informative and the 6 pack joke was hilarious 🤣💯
Thanks and Glad you enjoyed it!
those decline situps with the roller pad idea is awesome! I'm definitely going to use that going forward.
Glad I could help!
You have a great presentation style. Very straightforward and information dense. Subscribed.
I hear ya Chris and it’s a decent savings. Good luck with your setup!
What's different on the 5k leg rollers for lat pulldowns? Will I need to buy 2 instead of just 1?
@@mikeworkman1759 yeah Mike, it looks like they designed it to be one for each leg on the 5K, instead of the single that sits centered for the 4K.
@@twistedbarbell3950 double the cost that way, smart engineers.... bastards 🤣
