    Back in the mid eighties, we had a husband and wife who were correctional officers move into our small community. They immediately thought that they were in charge and would tell us what to do. They found that they had no power and ended up moving after around a year.

      There should be publicly assessable video cameras in all of the common areas. I'll bet the prisoners would feel safer. It is crazy that we lock our most vulnerable inside of a prison with men like these officers.

    That inmate who said he was being treated bad was never allowed to work outside again and was sent to solitary confinement for 30 days after video went public.

      They make the skinny slats that slide into vertical spaces of chain link fencing. Kinda like public restrooms - you can still see in but it’s more difficult😂 that being said if you can’t get up close enough you won’t see much. It wouldn’t take much to make privacy.

    You have shed light on law enforcement’s basic lack of understanding of the constitution and our laws. If law enforcement fails to learn the vary laws they have swarm to protect, How can they enforce them? Anarchy is a state of disorder due to absence or nonrecognition of authority or other controlling systems. We hold our officers to the highest level of conduct because they hold together the very fabric of our society.

    I love how in cases like this , the responsibility is on the pedestrian to not get hit by traffic/vehicles. Yet, pedestrians always have the right of way...so weird.

      @@jonathanbecker1426 not where I'm from (WI). Pedestrians always have the right of way. Yes they could get a jaywalking ticket. However, Wisconsin law doesn't specify jaywalking. But, it's viewed metal/fiber glass versus flesh and blood. If I hit someone crossing the road, cross walk, alleyway, parking lot, etc., or not. I'd be at fault. However, I have the right to take it to court and argue the circumstances.

They were inching towards us. It was crazy! I live in a state where those laws aren't specific and in the state supplied driving educational book they give you, that's the first thing laid out.

      @@jonathanbecker1426 I live in Wisconsin. You can't even block the sidewalk in your own driveway because it's obstruction to a public pathway/easement. However, it is just common sense. A vehicle versus a person....no matter how careless the person is, the vehicle would win. I'd wish it on nobody. When you drive technically you are given a privilege. ALL privileges should be handled with care and safety. To put the ownership of safety on a pedestrian is silly. I understand everything to specific to time and place. In wisconsin that's law. I'd love for you to go to Madison, WI with a New York/Chicago driving mind set. You would be able to cross state street without getting a ticket.

      actually up until last few years they did have authority over everyone and now shits catching up with them.. im as honest as it gets and ive always hated police my father was deputy sheriff and he always told me NEVER EVER trust police they are trained in every way imaginable to lie against you in court of law.. and on the streets..

      They used to. Now we hold personal security cameras in our hands. That makes it harder for these cowards to abuse us.

      All of the guards were so controlling. Why are our prisoners being overseen by tyrants? Out prison system should focus on reform and rehabilitation. Men like these just lead to an overall hostile environment, and our prisoners are coming out worse than when they went in.

    Imagine that. It's EXACTLY the same as the Berkeley study back in the 1970s.....Give grouo #1 a clown costume and virtually unlimited power and authority over others. And it very quickly devolves from guarding the prisoners too abusing them.

    Protocol, Policy, rules, safety, security, "because I say so". vs US Constitution. It’s like government abuse against its own oath. Sadly we are paying for it in many ways that seemed out of control.

    I grew up in that town. Drove past there every day. My mom actually worked there for years. I live in a different state now and I can't get up there much anymore as it's expensive to travel and my job keeps me too busy. So, Sean, thanks for this video as it brings back fond memories of my home town. Isn't the view great around there?

    There should be a law against public officials, calling the police on members of the public when there’s no crime.

      @@arcticrangeryou are right when it comes to calling 911, or making a false report. When it comes to requesting police presence there is not.
      Here is a hypothetical scenario that might illustrate why it is reasonable and legal to call for police presence:
      An armed individual is walking back and forth on the block. He may be armed legally or not, and he may be waiting for his ride. You do not know what the situation is, but it is making you uncomfortable. It is better to call the police, instead of addressing it yourself. If the individual is a threat you can’t expect them to be honest or safe to interact with, but a police officer is better equipped to handle the situation.
      That being said, the police don’t always conduct themselves properly, which is why it’s important to monitor them and hold them accountable with videos like this.

      My opinion of prisoners has certainly changed over the years, these videos prove that police will make you guilty at all costs. Especially if you hurt their fragile egos, I believe you, most probably are innocent.

      The Stanford prison experiment showed the dynamics in just a couple of days.
      We all know how jails function.
      We know how the police functions.
      We know that government overall is corrupt. There's very few people doing the right thing. & on top, after watching countless auditer videos, it's being proven over & over again.

      Is is sad that many people think the prisoners SHOULD be miserable. They are human beings- most of them with untreated psychological problems. Maybe we should treat their mental conditions instead of treating them like animals.

    The Captain obviously doesn't see the irony of walking down the same strip of road as Sean asking him to go to the side walk because of road safety. Then asking not to film an area that is clearly visible from the public road.. Total nonsense.
