Porch time! Always enjoyable! Superfreak, aka Jeremy did not learn this yesterday, or, the day before! He obtained this knowledge the 'old fashioned way'! He earned it, from the three Ps': Practice, Patience, and perseverance! And of course, it is demonstrated in the way he metal detects! I believe he had to learn this from the beep machines, and the White's Spectra V3i! Jeremy learned the V3i! This is obvious by the fact he retained it so well. That is the reason one receives an A in school. Their retention level will be revealed by their dedication. After all the final goal one will realize is the sound. Sometimes, called Beep! Often called tonal! You can call me Robert, Bobby, or just Bob! Now, I will go and have my morning coffee and (hypothetically) I will be setting in the bleachers when you come out to play in the dirt! Thanks for the video!
What a wealth of knowledge you are sir. I have only been detecting for 6 months now. Will be using your knowledge and advice for sure as my first detector purchase was the legend. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
I think a lot of those hidden menu options on the legend are because the software updates included those options after the Legend had been built. So that's why to get to some of those options you have to go through pre-existing options.. But, in my case, once you familiarize yourself with the updates through repeated use, it becomes somewhat second nature. People tell me sometimes that the legend is too complicated, my response is to quote you...."It takes hundreds of hours of use before you really know how to use a certain metal detector". I always find your "porch" discussions educational and instructive! 👍👍
Thanks for posting. I have a Minelab 7000 and 1000 for the gold fields here. I hated my Minelab 3030 for coin and relic. This Nokta Legend works so much better for me than the 3030. I had lots of problems with it and even other 3030 owners had problems with mine. Minelab said talk to dealer. Dealer said talk to minelab. I gave up on it.
You can on the legend too, there are 4 discrimination patterns All metal (wide open) Ground (1 and 2 notched) Iron (1-10 notched) And custom - (can notch whatever you want) There's a discrimination pattern button and from custom the next press is all metal
Great video, TBH, I am ready to purchase a new detector and I liked the Legend, but it may be too advanced for me. I am an old MXT user and loved the simplicity that it offered. I put my kid thru college with it.
You will find out 20khz-40khz will perform much more stable and go deeper than multi frequency in the totlots on the Legend. I have many many many live dig videos showing single frequency outperforming multi frequency on deep targets and masked targets. Multi frequency is for the beach.
A guy in my Facebook groups digs silvers all day long with multi 1, I'm kinda curious I always kept mine in 40khz, perhaps I should try multi 1 or 10khz or 15 khz
Cheat sheet for pulltab challenge 6 tone 1st break 1-25, volume 1, pitch 1 2cd beeak 26-33, volume max, pitch 30 3rd break 34-40, volume 1, pitch 1 4th break 40-45, volume 1, pitch 1 5th break depending if you still want silver to come through or not 46-58 volume 1 for reject or max for silver, pitch 1 for reject or 30 for silver 6th break - 59-60 volume 1, pitch 1 ( 60 is usually a false) Now the main pulltabs only come through and ring pulls to, pulltab 27 and ring pull 32 with some varieation so i leave 26-33 open So far ive only dug pulltabs and flattened whole cans with these setting lol, im going to change them back to normal soon😅 But i do have a gold ring i found november last year that rings loud with these settings on a air test EDITED; Here is a more dialed in version Break1 1-25, frequency 1, volume 5 Break2 26-28, frequency 20, volume 10 (Break2 gives you pulltabs) Break3 29-31 frequency 1, volume 5 Break4 32-34 frequency 20, volume 10(break4 gives you ring pulls) Break5 35-43 frequency 1, volume 5 Break6 44-60, you decided, either reject for no hightones or silver, or accept at frequency 30, volume 10
I am still on V1.1. I do not use headphone and have absolutely ZERO desire to pair the pinpointer to the Legend. The transition time for the detector to connect to pinpointer when it turned on is too slow, I can have the target already out of the ground by the time the pinpointer engages.
Now put that ring or coin on it's edge and notice what a low sensitivity does to the response to the target. Lowering the sensitivity to 50% greatly reduces depth potential to small low conductive targets , deep targets and diminishes the chances at finding targets on edge. All my detectors that have a mineral meter have full bars max reading. When the ground is wet is when the detectors are hardest to tune.
@@PaystreakSuperfreak I know that, but you often to tone break 10 or 14. It seems like you are referring to a type of disc. Or maybe Nokta just does it like a sort of disc.
@@richmikesell812 No tone break sets the point where anything below that setting is an iron tone and everything above is a normal tone, depending on which program you're in.

Very helpful info, thank you so much for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!

Very well said Doug
Damn bro! Looking like a new man with the beard looking different. Looking 10x younger and healthy. Stay blessed brother.
Thank you for your videos sir. I just got my legend today.

Sorry to hear that
Ordered my Legend today, been hunting with the Simplex which is a great machine. Hopefully I can figure out the Legend.
With notch one can go to all metal in a split second on nox or xterra ground tracking is very very important as well love mine lab brilliant.
You can on the legend too, there are 4 discrimination patterns
All metal (wide open)
Ground (1 and 2 notched)
Iron (1-10 notched)
And custom - (can notch whatever you want)
There's a discrimination pattern button and from custom the next press is all metal
Really great points love the perspective!
Great explanation, love porch time.
Glad you enjoyed it
Very intelligent information... very interesting.. I just purchase a new legend.. Love the hobby..
Right on!
Great looking hat Jeremy !

Very informent thankyou
I'll have to come over there and find all those coins you left behind with my AT Pro. LOL.
I have been using M3 in the moist mulch in tot lots. I'm going to have to go back and hunt with M2 or 40 khz .

Terrific video, thanks Jeremy 👋👍
Quite a different take. Thanks. Think I know the answer, but have you found a definitive way to distinguish a soda can with good high tones?
I have. Once you dig a few soda cans up...it is not hard to tell.
Thanks for getting back to me. Just by VDIs? I have found them from the 30s to mid 40s where coins are.
Cheat sheet for pulltab challenge
6 tone
1st break 1-25, volume 1, pitch 1
2cd beeak 26-33, volume max, pitch 30
3rd break 34-40, volume 1, pitch 1
4th break 40-45, volume 1, pitch 1
5th break depending if you still want silver to come through or not
46-58 volume 1 for reject or max for silver, pitch 1 for reject or 30 for silver
6th break - 59-60 volume 1, pitch 1 ( 60 is usually a false)
Now the main pulltabs only come through and ring pulls to, pulltab 27 and ring pull 32 with some varieation so i leave 26-33 open
So far ive only dug pulltabs and flattened whole cans with these setting lol, im going to change them back to normal soon😅
But i do have a gold ring i found november last year that rings loud with these settings on a air test
EDITED;
Here is a more dialed in version
Break1 1-25, frequency 1, volume 5
Break2 26-28, frequency 20, volume 10 (Break2 gives you pulltabs)
Break3 29-31 frequency 1, volume 5
Break4 32-34 frequency 20, volume 10(break4 gives you ring pulls)
Break5 35-43 frequency 1, volume 5
Break6 44-60, you decided, either reject for no hightones or silver, or accept at frequency 30, volume 10
Nokta needs to make a customizable "quick menu" for most commonly tweaked settings.
Have you tried the new updates? I'm currently running 1,11 But curious about 1.13🤔

Where is the radio pitch? I looked through the manual and the updated manual and can't find it. Is it called something else? Thanks.
Audio I mean.
It is the audio frequency. The tonal icon between tone volume and tone break. Page 21 in the manual
You should think about doing a live stream of digging on twitch. I think it would be neat.
Great video buddy safe hunts
The iron rich red soil the Missoula floods brought into the Willamette Valley is great for wine grapes and hops but terrible for us detectorists.
Have u made a video like this for the deus 2??
I have not. The Deus 2 is more complex than the Legend. The Deus 2 is very finnicky on many sites.
Jeremy where is Simplex cap?
It was drying after a wash.

Tonne break is disc ?
Tone break is managing tones to classify targets. Discrimination or notching is removing that tone altogether.
