@byronrichards3001 I agree. I spent my first few years doing this on a bounty hunter so all the settings were a learning curve for me hence these videos lol. Thanks for the video’s. I just received my new Legend about two weeks ago and haven’t been able to get out use it yet 😢! But I’ve been watching a ton of videos on my downtime and so far you have been very informative. I might have to call out sick of work just to get this machine out into the real world conditions. Keep up the good work! HH!!!

I think if you adjust your audio gain “AG” this will help with some of your depth with the faint signals as well. Just don’t blast the volume if you up the AG don’t want to blow your ears or speakers out
@@timbenham516 I’m not saying this will give you more depth in itself but it allows you to hear the faint targets that you may not otherwise hear that are deep targets
I have been backing my sensitivity down a few notches and I believe I hear more signals than when running hot. I still go back and forth on running hot or not
Agreed. Full power isn't ideal in most scenarios, especially at the beach. The spot ive been hunting for a bit that's cleared of shallow/obvious signals has produced more maxing depth ability. Thanks for the watch Team Lynch!
Finally someone giving great info on the Legend, I’m very much a visual learner so thank for the vids. I noticed when you hit that deep target the depth indicator wasn’t showing anything, can do do a video on depth indicator please. 👍

@@andreikurnits1306 Hi, yes I am! I actually have a video out for this. Please check out my "Nokta Legend - Recovery Speed Explained" hope it helps you! -Chris
Turn your threshold up just a tad higher than the normal setting. In the 70's - 90's we found that doing so would give a bit of depth increase. Not too loud, or you won't be able to distinguish the good targets from the hum. A change in pitch as you go over a deep target gives you the choice of investigating it (or not) further. The change in hum will be slight, but noticeable to you after a while.
I've come to find that setting it from 9-15 has been really fruitful for those deeper signals. It's rare I change it from that. But setting it there combined with pitch tone has been great to me.
Thanks for the video. Though I had a question; at the end of the video where you show the last find using the settings you chose, I’m not sure how the threshold helped in locating the coin. Can you explain that a little bit more?
Hey sorry for the late reply here. I wouldn't say so much it helped locate the coin but rather increase the ability for it to be detected. Threshold seems to work better on virgin, non planted signals that are deep. Since making this video, I've heard others say that the threshold on the legend isn't a true threshold and doesn't do much. But in my experience with it deeper signals were able to be detected. Hope that helps lmk. I don't use it much lately and have been toying with deep targets. I typically increase it depending on how deep the finds are or I've already rid a site of shallow targets and now am trying to see what's deeper.
So I'm still learning the best cleaning method myself I actually ruined an old copper trying some methods that were recommended to me. Now I would say the best way to clean it is with a toothpick or look up something called Andres pencils. They seem great!
Hey Drew, so from what I gather 4khz would be better suited for larger coins. I typically find myself in m1 or 10khz when coin sniping. But majority of the coins I get are dimes at about 9in depth. Usually does the trick! I'll have to toy with 4khz more before I can really give a definitive answer!
@@MrBottlecapBill that's definitely odd. I still haven't messed around much with 4khz. Lately I've been running it in 10-15khz and having good results.
Hi, On the stock coil you can get about a foot of depth. Typically, the size of the coil directly relates to how deep it will be able to detect. Hope this helps!
Bought a used one with part metal shaft the rest is the fiber one not a heavy one not as lite as deus orx but the legion lot better on a budget not every one has 1500 for a new one like at a house built 1890 can’t believe that this detector finding other targets that my old fbs minelab etrac or my 600 or the Garett with 13 inch coil when I started out back in the 90 we did not have a vdi was sound alone was a Garett TR detector
Nokta rarely shares dates when they're going to release something. I believe they first called it boost mode, someone called it beast mode and that's what caught on. Seems like it could transmit more power to the coil. I'd be interested to use a mode like that but wonder how it hurts battery life.
Threshold is something I will try out that is the only setting I haven’t played with I always have it at 0 I will be giving it a try and I will let you know how it goes I did as you probably are aware of now I have I am the guy that found 72 silver coins with the legend in less then a year so it will be interesting to see if it will work
@@ChrissyEis I'd say try it over an area you've hit pretty well already that's been productive. It helped me find some more stuff at a depth further than the legend would indicate
It's certainly not needed and agree handling the hum all the time can be annoying. I do feel it's helped me get some more out of my old stomping grounds.
Threshold is really good when your on a site that's been hunted out, by running the Threshold you can hear the break in the sound as you pass over the ground, that's how you know there is a deep target, you will not get VDI numbers or any audio other then Threshold break. That's how experienced detectorist find the best and deepest finds they are searching deep and slow!
Nice rundown on the many options this detector has.nice find(large cent) as well.
Peace and Love
